Been bringing my older sons for years here with Mando he's very detail oriented and very friendly and also love the shop atmosphere!

I absolutely loved the setup of this barbershop - it's got a relaxing atmosphere We were walk-ins, just visiting from out of town for a funeral, and the owner cut my son's hair. He did an incredible job, exactly how I envisioned it, and was so attentive and professional throughout. Seriously, just an all-around good guy with great vibes. I would definitely recommend getting a cut by the owner he truly made a difference during a difficult time. Highly recommend! read more

You guys want a man namee Jose to cut your hair. I kid you not he does great work. I have an interview for a new job this week and I was in a hurry and they came to my rescue. Mr. Jose took care of all my cosmetology needs and definitely hit all marks. The ambience of the shop is great also. While I was getting a haircut I was just chilling talking to Mr. Jose about life while watching football on the tv. Mr. Jose is the man you want to take care of all your haircut needs. I am more than satisfied. More like glad people like him exist in this world. True kindness is really hard to come by in these hard times. read more

Quality service! All the barbers very kinda and attentive to all the clients ! Definitely coming back

This place was a great find. We all hate looking for new barbers, but I was visiting Bakersfield last week, and was totally stoked to find this place. The barbers were knowledgeable and quick with the perfect result. read more

My husband was a walk in customer. He was taken right away no wait on a Tuesday afternoon. He was assigned to a barber named Dreamer. As a first time customer and we are new in town we googled a barbershop in Bakersfield. So glad we chose Fred's! Previously he had a barberess for 30 years in the Bay Area. Dreamer surpassed all expectations and more. My husband's new barber will be Dreamer from now on. Great service and the best haircut try Fred's on Rosedale. A 6 star experience from Mikethestripe! read more

Brenda cut my son's hair and completely ruined it. I asked her if I could get a refund for the horrible job but she was very unprofessional and laughed in my face and walked away. Will never recommend anyone to come to this place. She is horrible customer service and a real attitude. Whoever owns this place needs to let her go. read more

Soñador, many thanks for the haircut this past Friday. First time customer, no doubt, excellent cut, ready for inspection. Will definitely be back for the next cut. Much appreciated. JJG read more

High level barbers who can do all styles. Very nice and friendly place. Enjoyed the experience.

This is my second time coming to Fred's barbershop, I was greeted by Jacob. He is a genuinely nice person who takes interest in how you want your hair styled, takes his time, and his blending is phenomenal! I highly recommend this place to newcomers or anyone looking for an amazing haircut. read more

I'm here temporarily for work and had to find a barber, looked through Yelp, called Fred's to see if they accept walk ins and he said to come by. I met with him and told him what I wanted. Top notch customer service! Definitely recommend Fred, you won't be disappointed. Prices are awesome too. read more

They hook u up and the prices or cool. U come out looking like a New born Fish . Shaooooo

All five starts go out for the real mvp Danny. He was outstanding with my boys, and always had good conversations with them. He really made the trip to the barber shop very fun. Last trip took forever though. And I understand appointments go first, but I felt bad for the guy who was getting a haircut by Hector. He was on his phone just keeping the guy waiting, like what's the point of having appt and having you wait every three minutes? Not the first time I've seen that. Anywho, we will miss Danny...and Lupe, she was good too. read more

Gotta day I hate going to barber shops since at times I like my cut and others I wonder if they were listening to what I wanted. I feel barbers just do what they want with it. But here, lupe knows her stuff on cutting hair. Started coming here not long ago and love it. Can't complain with paying 22 for appointment and getting treated like a king. A+ read more

This is my favorite barbershop in town. I've taken my boys to numerous places in town, and this place has been great. They are kind, and make you feel like family. They take appointments but do charge extra which is fine since they can get very busy. My boys love Lupe and Fred! read more

Decided to give this shop a try as a result of a string of disappointing experiences while trying to find a new barbershop. My son and I took the time to drive across town only to be met by locked doors at 2:45 pm. The Yelp listing states they close at 6pm and their door says 4pm. As we were about to leave, one of the barbers came out to inform us that they were done for the day and that they'd been "at it since 6:30 am". Unfortunately, it seems like many "barber shops" these days are really working overtime to alienate both new and existing customers just trying to spend their hard earned time and money to get a simple freaking haircut. read more

Got the absolute BEST haircut Ive had in the last 10 years. Lupe did a FANTASTIC job and totally nailed what I had hoped for. She even gave me tips on how to trim and shape my beard! Great job Lupe! Even my wife told me 2-3 time how great the cut was. Love it. Definitely be coming back to Fred's from now on to ask for Lupe. ;-) read more

Amazing time! Quality people and quality haircut! Jacob asked what I wanted, recommended a few different things when I was unsure myself, and ultimately helped me decide what I wanted and the cut came out great read more

Boy was I pampered today at Fred's Barbershop! This was my first visit to Fred's after being enticed by the offer of a free haircut when my wife took possession of a Jacob Cuts business card. I called to confirm the location of the establishment and then I made my way east along Rosedale Highway until I reached the 4311 Rosedale Hwy address. There is ample parking along the east side of Fred;s. And, if you are so inclined, there appeared to be parking in the dirt field on the west side of the building. Boy, I was impressed by the number of barber chairs, the cleanliness inside and the overall atmosphere of the establishment. Friendly staff right off the bat as I entered the building. Jacob and I discussed my haircut preferences and then he went right at the cut with precision and meticulousness. Jacob was very open to back and forth conversation that just embelished his performance even more. Then, he even trimmed my thick eyebrows as part of the service. Not even done with this aspect of the service, he even shaved around my ears and then finished with my neck. Talk about A-1 service. And, he was doing this for free for responding with his business card. Ok, I did not forget to leave a well earned tip. I definitely will be moving over to Freds Barbershop and will be asking for Jacob from this point forward. read more

This is by far the best barber in Bakersfield! Been going to Fred for almost a decade now. All of the barbers at the location are amazing at what they do. Fred has the upmost respect for all the barbers in his shop (to include Hector) and the family atmosphere between them is palpable. If anyone says otherwise, they are player hating dick heads. read more

Lupe was an unexpected treat. Knew what she was doing every step of the way. The hot lather shave with straight razor was fantastic

Best barbershop in town. My son and I have been getting our hair cuts from Fred for years and will continue to. He always remembers the type of hair cut we like. I recommend him to all of my friends. Also run into family at the bar shop, too, which is pretty cool. Appointments are a big plus read more

Best barber in town, yes I agree. I've been coming here for along time and this place is really professional. The seating is nice and the wait is short. All the barbers are good hard to pick a favorite. But Fred is mine, lol. read more

So sad when you walk into a barbershop, told one person is in front of you, cool, but others walk in and there is still one more in front of you 5 times. Hubby has gone there for 2 years, wont be going back to crappy customer service. read more

I walked in with my 2 young kids asking if they'd cut my sons hair, the energy was inviting and he said "no problem about a 40 minute wait"... so we waited. This was the second time I've brought my son here. The first time he was 3. Now he's 4 so his Wonderful head of blonde beautiful locks had to go. I didn't catch the barbers name but he had blonde dreads. I showed him a picture of what I'd like for my son and he executed it. I was very happy. I didn't have cash only a card. When he rang me up I asked if I could tip but he said it was too late and he couldn't go back in the transaction on his phone. I felt bad but the guy said just to come back to him for his future cuts. It's a deal! I saw all the other cuts being done on clients and they all walked out looking good. I'd recommend this place to anyone! read more

So let me say we walked in last minute on a Saturday and the girl Erica working took my husband right away and didn't waste anyone's time. (Which some other barber shops love to do for some reason) She was extremely patient with my husband and would stop to ask him along the way while she was cutting if it was short enough and if he was liking it. I greatly appreciated that. Some people have a hard time understanding his accent but she took her time and asked him throughout and didn't just rush through. She also trimmed up his beard for him and gave him tips and pointer on how he should keep it trimmed to look best. So in the end he came out with a great looking haircut and a great beard!! The other guys working in there were extremely nice and talkative I enjoyed them as well. Ohhh and another plus they take card not just cash like a lot of other barbers. Thanks Erica for your patience and great work! We will definitely be back, it's my husbands favorite haircut so far! read more

Great place. Nice atmosphere. Good conversations. I got a haircut and a straight razor shave before my wedding at it turned out amazing. Would really recommend coming here. You would probably be better off with an appointment over just walking in. From what I could tell all the walk-ins were taken care of promptly and there is a great waiting area. read more

Visiting from out of town, didn't get a chance this weekend for a cut and fade. Must say I am presently surprised at the experience today at Fred's fine establishment. I knew when I shook his hand before he told me, he was owner proprietor. Best hair cut I have had in quite a while, seemed to know exactly what I wanted. Got there early And waiting one round in the chair and was glad to see more business walking through the door. Left a stiff tip and hope I can be back soon for work, to do it again. Lots of space and good vibe all around, definitely A read more

First time here, did a walk-in, and it was nothing like i imagined it to be. There were big screen TV's, sofas, recliner chairs, the whole environment was so relaxing and I felt right at home. Fred did a low fade on me that turned out amazing. Definitely going back! read more

Nice set up! Clean barbershop! Barbers know their cuts and friendly. I was in need for a haircut on a Monday, but most shops are closed. Luckily Fred's was open and made my morning. Prices are decent and the quality of the cut was great read more

A good place to grab a cut! First timers are charged $13, after that it's about $20. They do accept credit/debit. I received a clean cut from the owner of the shop, Fred. Nice guy, knows what he's doing. read more

The strip mall facade reveals a well appointed interior reminiscent of a Victorian barber shop. Big screen TVs and comfy, soft leather couches make a comfortable area to wait. The barbers take their time, are very skilled and competent. Would recommend going here for your cuts read more

Great shop, great atmosphere and great people! Shout out to my boy Daniel Reynolds, always hooking it up with a fresh cut!

Our first time taking my 4 year old son to a Barber; and what an amazing experience we had! We saw Fred and felt like VIP in our own personal room with Umi Zumi on the big screen and a lollipop in his hand, my son loved it! Not to mention how meticulous and professional Fred was with my sons haircut. Thank you, for the great service. read more

By far the best barber in NW Bakersfield. Place is very comfortable with TVs and couches. Fred the owner takes appointments but will always make sure you are taken care of by himself or one of his friendly staff members. Located near HWY 99 which makes the location convenient for anyone in Bakersfield. Always walk out looking and smelling fresh. read more
