I've ordered lumpia Shanghai on multiple occasions from Kusina for parties and they are always delicious. Staff is kind enough to provide a side of sweet and sour sauce. The lumpia is fresh and I love how they are bite sized. Everytime I've come to pick up my order, the restaurant is filled with people, clean, and the smells like good Filipino food!

Felt so lucky to have found Kusina in Jacksonville as we're leaving Florida. I placed an order online for a pick-up, and the food was ready as promised. The restaurant itself was clean, they had frozen, cooked Filipino favorites, desserts, cakes, breads, and the service was friendly. But you can smell the food they're cooking in the kitchen, so be mindful of eating in as you will smell it in your clothes later. But that's beside the point. The food here was incredibly good and authentic. The tocilog, longsilog, shanghai, lumpiang ubod, and pancit were delicious! The lumpia was very oily, but the filling was perfect! I wish I had ordered the fresh lumpia; I'm pretty sure it would've been very good. The palabok was perfect! And so was the laing... like wow. I bought the frozen ginisang monggo, it was okay, a tad salty. But, everything else was phenomenal. I'd move to Florida for this food. It's not often you can find a Filipino restaurant that is run efficiently and has the convenience of ordering online and the food is deliciously authentic. 5 stars all the way!

From the moment I entered the place had a great aura and I knew it was going to be a good time. I ordered the lumpia and pork sisig and absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere and I left so full which in the Filipino culture is what they want. Great pricing for the amount of food and although I didn't try any of the pastries they looked amazing. My new favorite Filipino place in the Jax area. I visit the area quite a bit coming from California and can't wait to try other items on the menu next time. Highly recommend!

The aroma of fresh baked goods hit you as soon as you walk in the front door. The lumpia was very tasty. I have never ordered sinigang Baboy soup before , but I will definitely order it again. It was like a gumbo and Tom Yum soup had a baby. It had loads of fresh vegetables and the broth was delicious. In the kitchen, they kept setting a timer to go off every few minutes for the dishes, they were preparing. It was a little distracting. Most people seem to be getting Carry out. I would definitely give it two thumbs up.

Have had enough eats at this excellent Filipino restaurant to now give it 5 stars! The food and service is totally stellar! And I do like that's it's a traditional ma and pa shop in appearance! Yes it may not attract the eye from the outside, even being housed next to "A Bit of Saigon." But the magic is definitely what happens inside the shop behind the counter after you make your order. I've tried a few items now and can say it is up there with the best Filipino food outlets I've eaten at. It's in no way flashy and creative like Abstrakt. But with traditional Filipino foods, on the basics they excel! Their pork adobo was amazing! The items were generous, the pork was tender, and the addition of lumpia with this dish was a great addition! I also tried a chicken siopoa - gotta say it was prepped very well. Only missed the sauce I'm used to getting with it. But it was an excellent version. It was soft, tasty, chicken not overly chewy. Good stuff! It was Thursday, so being two for Thursday, it was buy one get one free day for the taho dessert, really more like a beverage. I can say it's quite sugary!! But far less than the classic halo halo. I like the tofu in the taho. If you like these, go to Kusina and do the buy one/get one on Thursdays. Well, it was an enjoyable visit. The folks who made things happen here were terrific. They were busy and handled things very well. They gave each of us the time and consideration needed to make sure we were satisfied with our orders. I love that kind of restaurant! Come visit here someday! Recommend: HIGH

What great find and was worth the trek from Oakleaf. Filipino Breakfast. Service was spot on and the dishes were served in to "To Go" containers. Flavors were very authentic and after living in the Philippines for nearly 11 years before moving here, even my wife was impressed. A large selection of home foods and bakery goods very reasonably priced. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy home cooked food with Filipino heart and not processed at some commissary and then delivered to be reheated. Comfortable seating with all the condiments also. Salamat!

I can't believe I haven't t made a review for Kusina! We have been here several times and it's always a treat! Our favorites are their breakfast silogs, but I believe they serve them all day. It's a complete meal with garlic rice, egg and protein! Whether it will be Pork Tocino, Beef Tapa, or Milk Fish, always dip them in vinegar, so delicious! And let's not forget their cakes and pastries! I love their sans rival and Food for the Gods! Let's not forget the pandesal and Ensaymada! All yummy! They also sell cooked meals such as Sinigang, Pork Menudo, Lechon Paksiw, and so much more! You can also order custom made cake! Service was fast even though it's made to order, just be patient when they have a lot of customers. This place is located in an office building so they are only open on weekdays. Plenty of parking!

Food - Ube Boba Smoothie, it's creamy, nutty, and jelly. All separate combination but it's just a perfect pairing of inconsistent texture to make a unique flavored drink. This drink is not for what your normal expectations of Boa. It was an acquired taste. This place is a deli. I haven't eating anything from here because I do not understand the menu.

We stopped at a new Philippine restaurant and bakery on Kernin Blvd called Kusina. It may be small, but the food makes up for it. Everything is made homemade in-house. We had to try the pancit with lumpia and couldn't resist the chicken empanadas. All the food was very delicious. One thing we liked was that the empanada dough was not sweet like other places we've tried; this dough was like pot pie crust - flaky with crispy edges and well-seasoned chicken filling. Prices were reasonable, and the hospitality was great.

I've been here a few times and they never disappoint! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. They definitely have a family atmosphere and they treat each customer as if they know you well.

Bumping down 1 star from previous 5 star review from old location just because on a recent visit we noticed that in the pancit palabok, they now slice the shrimp in half (!) so visually it looks the same, but you are definitely getting less shrimp (1/2 portion now). Regulars will notice this kind of thing. Economizing, I suppose!

I've never been here before but heard of it. So one day when I was out and about with my friend, she said this place was good, so I was like yea let's go then! I ordered the chicken tosilog and my friend ordered the pork. I also got the pancit to go, as well as the pan de coco, ube mamon, and their buco pandan pistachio muffin to go. The chicken tosilog was delicious! Everything blended in so well. The flavors balanced each other, from the sweet/salty of the chicken with the sour papaya slices and fried egg, man, chefs kiss. Definitely a taste of umami. Love it! My grandma loved the pancit and the pan de coco! She doesn't eat much, but she literally ate the whole thing. So, that's a sign that the food is, yep, you know it, yummy in your tummy. The buco pandan pistachio muffin and mamo ube was so good! Great with tea! Overall I highly recommend this place!

Update 6/22/2026:…read more Met up with a colleague for lunch and this place never fails me! The owner and staff are wonderful people working hard to bring the Hawaiian-Filipino taste to the Jax Community! Reminds me of when I visited Hawaii in the past and I just miss the islands! It was during early lunch so it was quiet at first but later saw folks coming through for lunch. My colleague never had Hawaiian food so the owner and I recommended a few dishes -- he chose the Loco Moco, Hawaiian-comfort food. I missed the garlic shrimp back then, and so luckily they had it in the menu -- Hawaiian Fried Garlic Shrimp!!! It was fantastic! The savory and super garlicky taste of those fried shrimps (yes, they had the shells still on, but that's the best part). The shells were crispy/fried enough and covered in the garlicky sauce that you can just eat it. Some folks may have other opinions, but I'm used to eating it this way in my culture as well. The fiesta rice was seasoned well and the Hawaiian Mac Salad was wonderfully semisweet and seasoned well too. Always great vibes by the decor and the owners!

The staff and owners greet you to then make sure you are taken care of. Most items on the menu ranged between $10 to $20 dollars. As of the moment, what I was truly hoping to try was outside of my price range. I ordered to go and purchased a Spam Masubi ($3.50 without tax). I will state that this appetizer may not be the best representative of this restaurant's cuisine. I would personally rate it 5.8/10 and would truly hope to try something different. I also believe the cost to meal gained ratio left me feeling this was a bit overpriced. Nevertheless, I want to return to try a different menu item as others have stated the food was enjoyable.

The cafe is more on the smaller side but it's cozy and the customer service is always happy and friendly! When you walk inside, there's a hot bar with all the food items available that day. You can check their Facebook page for their menu each day! You can get combos like an entree and a side, two entrees and a side, etc. On the shelves near the windows, there are local Filipino desserts like crinkles, puto (rice cake), flan, etc for sale. They also sell mac salad in the fridge and some dried fish on the shelves. What I love about this cafe is that they have a small snacks/drinks/candy market next to the dining area. The dining area is a good size and faces the parking lot. On this particular Saturday, we had the following entrees and sides: Lechon (roasted pig), Kaldereta (Filipino beef stew), and some rice! The lechon pieces were big and the skin (my fav!) was crispy, salty, and golden! The meat was also juicy and not dry. What I like to do is dip the meat into some white vinegar to give it some acidity since the lechon is on the heavy side after a few bites. The Kaldereta was hearty, rich, flavorful and it reminded me of an elevated beef stew. The potatoes and carrots literally melted in my mouth! I gave my combo plate a 8.5/10! My husband had Humba (braised pork belly that is slow cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, fermented black beans, and sugar) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He shared some pieces of it with me and it was smooth as butter. It was sweet and salty and his rice soaked up all the sauces. Definitely a must try! I would give it a 9/10 because the flavors were so rich and it made me want even more! The prices are reasonable for how much food you're getting! They also sell desserts like halo halo (shaved iced with fresh fruits, taro ice cream, toppings like flan, condensed milk, jellies, beans, etc.) I've personally had the halo halo and it's one of my favorites! Super refreshing on a hot summer day. They also sell mango and taro flavored cakes but you have to call in advance for whole cakes. Their cakes are light, delicious, and fluffy! I especially enjoy the mango cake because you get chunks of fresh, champagne mangoes on and inside the cake. We've been coming here for years and don't plan on stopping. My husband is a bit of a Filipino food snob at times, but Lola's definitely has a special place in his heart! They do military discounts too, FYI!
