Lovely beach views and the soothing sound of poker machines are utterly ruined by the poor service. Service was halted to a shuddering trudge as a congested pizza oven was clogged by mounds of sloppy dough. The result of this lethargic production line was not to be frowned on, however the quality of the food was spoiled by the tedious wait- a spurting of liquid faeces on the face of all customers awaiting service. Just a sidebar: As I awaited my dinner, the sweet, sweet sound of the slaps kept leading me to that oh so lustful temptress- the sparkling "play" button of them beautiful poker machines. read more

As expected among surf clubs the location is first rate. A breakfast at the Tower 28 Cafe was unsatisfying. Ordered the board special waffles with bacon, banana and maple syrup. The bacon was well cooked but the waffles appeared to be straight out of the packet and were almost bread-like to taste with a sugar coated crystal surface. Friendly efficient service and a great view just couldn't make up for a poor meal. read more

As with most of the Surf Clubs on the Gold Coast, you can pay a small guest fee and have access to the amenities. I don't know, maybe I have got it wrong, but in my opinion, surf club bistros are known for offering decent food at reasonable prices, making them an attractive option for everyone? In the case of Kurrawa Surf Club - WRONG! Seriously overpriced undercooked and tasteless food. A steak that was ordered medium came out blue, steamed vegetables which were practically raw (needed a steak knife just to cut through them), a chicken parma that was tough as old boots....I could go on. Plenty of other restaurants in the vicinity to go to for a decent meal. read more

We used to like coming here. Good food. Good value. Good service. Sadly this has all changed. When a club provides meals that are poor value for money and the staff pass off frozen pre-battered frozen fish as tempura fish you know you've got a problem. The chicken nuggets were rated by my kids as worse than McDonalds and they seemed to think providing six small crumbed pieces of squid with 15 chips and a tablespoon and a half of coleslaw was a reasonable main meal. Shockingly the manager on duty admitted to the frozen fish agreed that the portion size was probably not what a reasonable person would accept. He did offer to do something about the price if we came back again if we asked for him. In Broadbeach with so many options we would not go back or recommend the place to anyone. Do yourself.a favour and give this place a miss and try any of the other options in Broadbeach that offer better value read more

Wow, truly amazing booked out on a Tuesday night that speaks volumes and we were early 5.30pm... However they let us sit waterside view as guests for that table not arriving until 6.30pm, found us a table still waterside view. Great food, the selection is amazing and very child and family friendly venue. Floor staff amazing an overall great experience. read more

you don't really come here for the food. it has an awesome old skool vibe, very family friendly. the food is pretty average, at best. made fast and by the numbers, like a counter meal. but you always leave happy because the place is just so chilled and everyone around you is genuinely happy to be there. oh, and the view is sensational. read more

View is fantastic overlooking the beach. Friendly staff who deal with a large number of people going through the club very efficiently. The food however is sub par which lets the venue down. Tried 3 different items from the menu over 2 separate visits this week. Extremely surprised that they do not have a simple bucket of prawns option on the menu considering they are a surf club by the sea. Venue, location and view of the beach - 5/5. The food 2/5 at best. At almost $21 for a non member burger I would expect it to be prepared fresh with quality ingredients. The Lamb burger I had appeared to be from a frozen patty. Moroccan Lamb burger freshly cooked at Grill'd is only $14. For the price Kurrawa is charging, they should be producing better quality meals. read more

Our first time at the Club since renovations to attend a birthday/ christening luncheon today. Met by a rude staff member who loudly told me , in front of a long line of people, my licence was not good enough to enter as I was a local( my shark card was in my other handbag). I tried to contact a member of the party to sign me in but was not able to. When my husband turned up after parking the car , the same young man was equally as rude. As I stood there I noticed numerous people going up the stairs and were not approached . Members of the group that we were with were also not asked for ID.ID was not mentioned as being required by all people , to my friend when she booked the tables. Eventually, another staff member that we approached was able to sort it out as we were late for the celebration. The young man tried to give a half hearted apology. Not good enough Kurrawa. Your customer relations needs a lot of work. That sort of thing leaves a bad taste and as locals we will NOT be returning. read more
