ALDI - Great prices on produce!

Sort of odd little store. You have to insert a coin for a cart. You are forced down a main aisle of…read morefood to get to the rest of the store, and if you decide you want something you saw, you have to walk all the way back down that aisle, like a fish swimming up stream. They have some really good deals, but mostly the food is priced similar to other stores. Thing is, they often have things you can't find in other stores. It's always fun to see just what they'll have. I've been finding that they do a piss-poor job marking the food, especially the frozen food near the produce. The prices in no way align with where the food is stored. So you're looking at frozen fish in one freezer, but the price was around the corner on a freezer with pizza. The check out is much as you'd find in Europe. Unload your things, where they get scanned by (usually) a very nice/polite checker and placed back in the cart. You get to bag your own groceries, which I think is great, since I always bring my own bags. You get the coin back when you return the cart to the staging area. My realtor turned me onto this place. I'm so happy she did.

She then said that she scans fast and started throwing my stuff at my that i put on the belt. I let her know it was her job to scan people and she didn't have to be rude she rolled her eyes and told me that i should of used a basket. i told her to allow me a moment while i put everything in my wagon so i can pay. when i went to pay and ask for my receipt she told me i had to wait and finish everything on the screen which it was nothing on the screen i let her know. she threw the receipt at me a and told me bye get out of the store. i will be letting everyone on my social media know to not go to this store and to watch out for Alexandria. She didn't want to provide me with corporate number or did she want to give me the manager information.

I didn't really know what to expect walking in, but y'all... they have everything. Cold-pressed juices, sea moss in both dry and gel form, fruits, vegetables, powders, oils, and so much more. My sister was rushing me out of the store, so I didn't get to shop the way I wanted to, but I definitely didn't leave empty-handed. I grabbed a few cold-pressed juices. I also wanted to pick up some cloves but didn't get the chance this time. I'll definitely be back for those. I also want to give a shoutout to Orlando. He helped explain how to consume the juices to get the best benefits. He was very knowledgeable about the products and the health benefits, and I really appreciated him taking the time to help me. Thank you, Orlando! Customer service was 10/10, and I highly recommend stopping by.

But paying over 10 dollars per can was the weirdest issue I have ever had. One can was $10.14 and when I protested, the cashier said they always sell at that price. Problem is, you can buy a case with 12 cans for $28.45. Now, I am not genius, but this was unacceptable. As a market that caters to the under-served areas, this should never happen. This is taking advantage of the customers at an uncomfortable level. I will never darken the doorstep at this establishment ever again. I love helping small businesses in my community, but this is taking advantage of the kindness of good neighbors.

I wanted to learn more about the company since it's local and I often find the juices in the produce section while shopping at HEB. The founders, Norma and Walter Nimocks, decided to bring juices to the masses after experimenting with various combinations and recipes. Norma, as I discovered, is originally from Ecuador, but the Nimocks's travels throughout Central and South America also apparently inspired them as they went about creating shots and juices. Although I haven't tried any of the Just Made wellness shots, I definitely get the juices often. I would say my favorite thus far is Ginger Greens (Immunity) which includes: kale, spinach, pineapple and ginger. It tastes great and has a dark green label. Also included are coconut water, pear juice and lime juice. The flavors are well balanced. My second favorite juice is the Beets & Turmeric which includes: beets, orange juice, coconut water, pear juice and carrot. One would initially expect the beets to overpower everything else in the mix, but again, this is a well balanced blend. Another flavor I tried recently is the Pineapple Ginger, which is delicious. Overall, I highly recommend these juices because it's a great tasting, affordable healthy option (priced just over $3 for the 11.8 oz bottles).

My fave is the Just Better Greens - a green juice blend with Kale, Cukes and Spirulina. This is right up my alley when I want a juice quickly and have no time to juice at home.
