The owners ARE very unprofessional and dismissive. Communication is horrendous and any questions or concerns (i.e. money, cancelled workshops, etc.) are met with defensiveness, excuses and use of "free" merchandise rather than real solutions. Beware they do not offer refunds, but you will get a "credit" for what THEY feel they owe you. It's extremely disappointing that a business that has been around for 21 years is ran so badly and doesn't have a better ethics. I'm sure they have a huge following, but this was my 1st experience with Planet Dance, and I will be dancing my happy ass elsewhere to get a more positive and honest experience.

My child busted their chin requiring stitches moments after removing their shoes a prior time. And this past time I watched 3 kids simultaneously enter the laminate floor and fall. My child fell again even with grip socks. And only moments later a child used the slide and busted their face open pouring blood all over, and when a clorox was requested they said they only had baby wipes and seemed completely unphased by potential injury they could be held liable for. Overall: could be a fine space, but it's not safe and could use improvements. At the least laminate flooring should be covered everywhere and staff could at least feign worry in case of an injury.

This year, Jess opened her flagship studio in Madisonville, and it is just incredible. You are greeted upon entering by a huge disco ball and the wonderful front desk staff. Then there are 2 studios, the Mainstage, where all the dance cardio and other cardio classes are, and the Backstage, where yoga and barre usually are. There's also a playroom, and child care is offered most mornings. All the instructors are amazing, you can't go wrong with anyone. If you need a place for your kid's birthday party or if you need an event space, they often are renting it out for that as well. I cannot recommend Dance Factory Fitness enough!

I have a fitness membership-it's $25 for a CRC membership (for the YEAR!) which gets you into the center for open gyms and classes (Zumba, Yoga, Aerobics) and it's an extra $70/year (or $20/quarter) to use the fitness room. It doesn't get much better. The staff are friendly and will give you free reign of the place to walk around and check things out before you commit. It is a pretty basic place-two treadmills, three ellipticals, free weights, and a full assortment of weight machines. The cardio equipment works fine, but has been around awhile. The crowd is very diverse and friendly, and often rather scarce, but in the winter time and can get a bit crowded. They do also have a bathroom with a shower room and lockers. I've never used them, but wouldn't be afraid to. The hours are reasonable at 6:30-9 during the week-I can get in before or after work, but Saturdays could be better (9-noon). Parking is off-street and plentiful.

The food looked good, but we did not partake - the drinks were decently well priced - a can of beer 3.50 - a sway was 6 bucks. They have free concerts every now and then at their art installation, which is pretty cool, I also think it's cool how they do 5 buck Mondays. The staff was nice enough, my only complaint is the grass was a little overgrown, so we got ate up with chiggers and skeeters.

The studio is heated as appropriate for power yoga (usually should be 85ish) compared to many studios around town that heat to 100-110, which may be appropriate for hot 26/bikram, but makes it almost impossible to actually work the way power yoga requires. I don't want to feel like I'm going to faint! You won't find the heat oppressive at Move Your Hyde. It's a very irreverent space and the teachers don't take themselves (or the yoga) too seriously -- after all, the point is to get more flexible in your mind. They offer great modifications and a variety of personalities and approaches between the instructors, but all with a solid Baptiste style power yoga core. I highly recommend it! One thing I haven't encountered before at a yoga studio is other students' unwillingness to make space for someone else's mat in their row. If a class is full you really do have to pack in, which is fine with me. It does seem like most of the people in the room are reluctant to shift and make space for their neighbor and rather hope others will do it instead. Not super welcoming when you're new to a space. I am always happy to move with a smile and without hesitation so that someone else can join us. But the teachers are all lovely and welcoming and very skilled for the most part. Give it a try!

Hot, warm, or non-heated classes are available here, designed for stretching, being kind to your body, easy flow, or a full on power flow class that will get you sweating in minutes. Honestly, I'm a fan of shavasana pose (because who doesn't like to relax?), so the power flow classes are great and really help me up my yoga practice. Bridget and the team are wonderful instructors. They each have their own style of teaching. They each are very caring in the way that take their time with teaching poses during the class, and with you as an individual if you need it. They have an online calendar and sign-up, which makes choosing a class easy too. I will add though that sometimes space is at a premium in the studio, and you have to be comfortable with getting close to your neighbor.
