My hubby won 2 RT airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies on the mainland by winning a watermelon eating contest! Woop woop! They also had really cute staged areas for photo taking, tons of food vendors, a farmer's market, etc. You can't go wrong when there's something for everyone to do. Highly recommend checking this place out for Halloween time. Bring boots and plenty of water and sunscreen - it's hot out there, but always fun.

The decorations were cute and festive, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming. It was definitely crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we only stayed for about an hour. It was also really hot, which made it tough for both us and our dog. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

You can do the standard movie tour and see the literally hundreds of movies and TV shows filmed there or explore a bit more on your own with their ATV tour or horseback tour. Everything is reasonably priced and our guide was fantastic. So much knowledge of history, filming, wildlife and lore. All done without a script in sight. There is a bunker built for WW2 that was never really used but now houses movie memorabilia from the many productions on the ranch. Staff everywhere was super friendly and be sure to check out ALL of the buildings as they offer food souvenirs and even a shop with meat and products from the ranch itself.

This year after the long wait for the Farm Fair was long awaited by many locals, which turned out…read moreto a long a waited outing, bring the grandkids! A lot was disappointed of the long lines which was crazy because they had a parking lot one side pass the Kualoa beach park and another one on the the Kualoa beach park side but the lines to start to enter started all the way from the Kualoa park side by the Chinaman Hat entrance so from 1 end to the other you need to walk instead of having 1 line enter from the Kualoa Ranch entrance and 1 line from the Kualoa Beach area would have made more sense. The they cut down the seating area from 2 large tent to only 1 tent that it was packed with lots of customers waiting with there food for pretty long time for space to open up. The Farm Animal area was also cut down so the space was very cramped and less displays of different farm animals with only a few on hand that was being auctioned off only. They local product tent was about the same size and they had new local products, not many but vendors but larger displays of their products. The Inflatables area was pretty large with lots of different kinds of inflatables for the kids which was good. The horse riding area was very busy looked like the entrance to get into the fair, but the dedicated parents braved the hot sun and long lines and waited. Hope they change the way they handled this years fair, because hear a lot of disgruntled customers from the entrance and eating areas! Yes we need to support our local farmers, which by the showing of the customers that came to the fair, but to keep them coming hope they made improvements on handling the arrival and seating areas for dining and some of the exhibits of farm animals. I ordered vanilla beans and a vanilla kit at the end of November. A day later I wanted to order a few more kits, so contacted LVC and owner, Saili, let me know that I could pay for them and they would include them in the original order. I received a notification that my original order was mailed out (the first order was the only one noted). I'm not sure why, but the postal person did not deliver them (it was storming on delivery day, unsure if he felt it was too wet to leave for me). I received a notification that it was returned to the post office and I immediately rescheduled delivery. It was labeled as such on the tracking that it was supposed to be redelivered. The redelivery date came and went. Since I was using these for Christmas gifts, I reached out to LVC just to make sure both of my orders were included in the same box since the tracking info only listed the first order products. I thought that maybe if not everything was in there, I could have LVC mail the second order in an effort to get some gifts on time. Saili let me know everything was in the box. Saili also tried to call the post office but they did not answer (thank you Saili for trying!). Just before Christmas I got an email that my delivery was received. I was so excited thinking my box was dropped off. To my surprise, the box was delivered back to LVC! I contacted Saili and asked what my options were. Unfortunately the holidays are so busy I could not make it out to Laie to pick up and that's when the most unexpected thing happened. Saili offered to drop it off at my house. Aloha spirit alive and well! Thank you again Laie Vanilla and Saili! I see other reviews noting a vanilla tour - would love to do this one day. Can't wait to get my vanilla beans marinating! I learned so many things, and found it all very interesting! The farm itself is beautiful and enjoyable to walk through and take pictures. The plants grow in shade so it's shady but it is a bit humid but not uncomfortable. At the end of the tour we were given cutting to grow our own vanilla bean vine, and were taught how to care for the plant. Honestly, a great way to spend your afternoon!! Grabbed a vanilla extract kit they sell down the road, a perfect way to remember this beautiful day!! Highly highly recommend it!!
