My hubby won 2 RT airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies on the mainland by winning a watermelon eating contest! Woop woop! They also had really cute staged areas for photo taking, tons of food vendors, a farmer's market, etc. You can't go wrong when there's something for everyone to do. Highly recommend checking this place out for Halloween time. Bring boots and plenty of water and sunscreen - it's hot out there, but always fun.

The decorations were cute and festive, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming. It was definitely crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we only stayed for about an hour. It was also really hot, which made it tough for both us and our dog. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

I'm so glad that I chose that time as it wasn't too hot/bright so it's cooler. We got there a little bit earlier than our appointed time, but Denise told us that we can start. She was very friendly, informative, and just a lovely person. I absolutely love love love the experience! We started with the bunnies first because they're so freakin' cute! We got to feed them as we brought some fruits and veggies from Safeway before we came. I picked one up and we got take some pics/videos with them. There were birds next to the bunnies and they were pretty. It was very sad hearing the story about one of the birds (I forgot the name of the bird.. sorry!) as he lived off his on poop for a couple years as his person passed away. It's the one that's always screeching/screaming. Then we visited the little bb cows (calves? Is that what they're called?), and I got to feed them the feed. Then we checked out the goats and sheeps. The goats were really aggressive with wanting to get the food, and they will bump into each other. Then we visited the ducks and piggies. There were also turkeys there as well. The fruits and veggies that we got from Safeway were strawberries, lettuce, and carrots. My ultimate favorite part was that they let us bottle feed the bb cows. There were like 4-6 big bottles of milk to feed the bb cows. I tried it first, and then I let my sis try, but she only lasted holding it for like 2 minutes until she said that it was too heavy. So I ended up doing that mostly which was really awesome! I absolutely loved it as it was such an amazing experience. Hehe.. Dear Denise, thank you so much for having this wonderful place that gives people opportunities to interact with these lovely animals! I ordered vanilla beans and a vanilla kit at the end of November. A day later I wanted to order a few more kits, so contacted LVC and owner, Saili, let me know that I could pay for them and they would include them in the original order. I received a notification that my original order was mailed out (the first order was the only one noted). I'm not sure why, but the postal person did not deliver them (it was storming on delivery day, unsure if he felt it was too wet to leave for me). I received a notification that it was returned to the post office and I immediately rescheduled delivery. It was labeled as such on the tracking that it was supposed to be redelivered. The redelivery date came and went. Since I was using these for Christmas gifts, I reached out to LVC just to make sure both of my orders were included in the same box since the tracking info only listed the first order products. I thought that maybe if not everything was in there, I could have LVC mail the second order in an effort to get some gifts on time. Saili let me know everything was in the box. Saili also tried to call the post office but they did not answer (thank you Saili for trying!). Just before Christmas I got an email that my delivery was received. I was so excited thinking my box was dropped off. To my surprise, the box was delivered back to LVC! I contacted Saili and asked what my options were. Unfortunately the holidays are so busy I could not make it out to Laie to pick up and that's when the most unexpected thing happened. Saili offered to drop it off at my house. You get to spend the…read moreafternoon with the owner as he walks you through the process of growing, hand pollinating and processing the beans. He really great guy, loved hearing his stories. I learned so many things, and found it all very interesting! The farm itself is beautiful and enjoyable to walk through and take pictures. The plants grow in shade so it's shady but it is a bit humid but not uncomfortable. At the end of the tour we were given cutting to grow our own vanilla bean vine, and were taught how to care for the plant. Honestly, a great way to spend your afternoon!! Grabbed a vanilla extract kit they sell down the road, a perfect way to remember this beautiful day!! Highly highly recommend it!!
