This store used to be my go to place for hookah products and shisha until recently…read more Up until today, they used to come close to price matching some of their prices on shisha to prices from the larger online retailers like Hookah-Shisha and HookahJohn. I took my business here because I'm a believer in supporting small businesses and shops as much as possible. Today, as I called before driving over, I was told that this is no longer possible. Specifically when asking about why a box that's available to consumers for $17 online is being sold for $25 in store, I was told to call the other store to speak to a manager. As I called the other store, the employee hung up on me mid sentence, and did not pick up any of my next few calls. When they finally did, I was told that "this is our rule and we charge you the price we need to charge you because you get the convenience of having the product now. You can buy your products online and wait". As a retail store, even though it's understandable to have prices at slightly higher levels to make a profit when not selling at larger volumes like online retailers, there is no justification to not work with customers making reasonable requests. Expecting the "lowest price guaranteed" is a lot to ask from small business owners, but customer service and reasonable prices is the bare minimum. I will do as the manager told me to and take my business elsewhere. Save your $ for someplace that doesn't hike up prices over 45% and appreciates customer loyalty.

Anyway, moving on, the humidor is not very large, and I expected something bigger. Prices were kind of high for a Suffolk County smoke shop, for both cigars and cigarettes, though he had a lot of different types of specialty cigarettes, including every variety of Nat Sherman, Dunhill, imported ones, and the outlawed cloves varieties. So, why one star? Well, the gentleman who I assume is the owner, was NASTY to me. He would not let me handle or go near the cigars, let alone open the case myself, and then when I went to pay, asked me for ID, which is fine, but then proceeded to tell me it was fake! I was about to walk out, but figured the cigar would get me through a long day at work. Avoid.

Yes, I know how bad smoking is for you - I recently had the pleasure of wrapping some poor soul's newly-obtained stump resulting from a below-the-knee-amputation due to poor circulation related to cigarette use - but I REALLY enjoy an occasional cigar and glass of outside-my-tax-bracket-whiskey. This is THE place to go in the area when you need any tobacco item. Two walls ranging from Claro to Oscuro feature almost every well-known brand as well as some pretty obscure finds. There is almost always a table featuring a pile of stuff on sale, and I have never bought a stale stogie from here (although at a pace of less-than-one/month, I could easily be wrong). There's tables and newspapers (also a Greek paper available FYI) that you can sit at and enjoy a smoke, if doing so at home is verboten. (And unless you count the QuickDraw, there are no TV's, but I consider that a refuge in this age of constant-screen-staring.) Like any good tobacco shop, they've got every form of lottery available here - and people seem to hit pretty consistently from the posted winnings near the register. Oh, I almost forgot - REAL PIPE TOBACCO BLENDS! There's a counter with about TWELVE different blends of pipe tobacco in big ol' clearly labeled apothecary jars. If you smoke a pipe, just FORGET about getting those ridiculously priced tins or plastic baggies with crap in em - these blends don't b***s**t around with names like "Summer Sunrise" or "Engine No 45"; they're straight-up - "Amaretto", "Vanilla", "Cordial" and SO superior for making your own custom blend. And at about $4/oz, they're also far cheaper than the pre-packaged garbage most people are forced to buy since, well let's face it, smoking pipes has been on a downward trend for a long, long time. But hey, we'll be able to indulge freely soon enough once they figure out a way to slap some stem-cells in ya and re-grow all those tarred-up alveoli... right?

He asked what I was looking and also my price range. After a short Q & A session he was able to recommend a nice cigar so I bought 3! He was extremely pleasant to work with. I didn't get a change to really explore the whole place but the setting was open, clean and they had stairs leading to what seemed like a little loft. I will be stopping in next time I need a gift for someone!
