I have been a dog owner for 6 years, my wife and I rescued Moses just hours before he was scheduled to be put down and at the time had a seven year old daughter who bonded immediately with Moses. After living in NJ for his first 2 years we decided to move to Virginia and not soon after my wife became pregnant again. For the first year Moses was sweet and calm around our newborn, however as soon as Stella was able to walk things soon changed. Moses became scared and skittish with Stella's new fast unpredictable movements and hesitations toward petting him and eventually led to him biting her. We separated the 2, keeping Moses outside until bed time, hoping they would eventually get comfortable with each other. Unfortunately that never happened, and after over a year of being separated, Moses continued to show fear around Stella and eventually bit her again while my older daughter had been watching her. After that my wife and I sadly decided that it might be time to find another home for Moses. Easier said then done; no one would take a dog in our new state with a bite history and every shelter emphasized that death was imminent with a dog with a bite history. Moses had never bitten anyone except Stella and the there was no way my wife and I were going to let that happen. With nearly all hope lost, a friend from New Jersey told us about her experience with her dog trainer and recommended we speak to him before we make any decisions. A bit reluctant, still feeling hopeless we agreed to bring Moses up to NJ to meet with Paul and have him assessed. Paul quickly determined that Moses was not an aggressive dog and that we had been misinterpreting his behavior. With only 2 days in a row of training Moses soon resembled a completely different dog. Paul found that his fear wasn't only towards Stella but also towards other dogs and anything else that he suspected as a threat. After one day of training, Moses was able to be in a dog park with many dogs quickly running up to him and was able to remain calm and did not react with any fear. My wife began to cry when we saw this. With only 2 days training Paul was able to transform Moses to the dog we had hoped for and assured us with continued training that Moses would only become more obedient and trustworthy around our daughter. This is by no means a quick fix, let me be clear, however we are very hopeful now as opposed to where we were. With continued training with Paul and constant reinforcement at home we have gone from having no hope and feeling emotionally exhausted, to looking confidently toward the future. Paul is a god send. I'm so happy we picked him as our dog trainer. When I contacted him about our extremely jumpy, chewing,peeing dog he told me everything he does, & answered all of my questions no matter how many I had & etc. When he came to our home for an evaluation he was so nice, attentive, patient & etc. Within a few minutes after seeing our dogs personality Paul had our dog listening, sitting and etc. I knew from that moment on that he was going to be the ONLY person we want to train our dog(s). I found Paul on the GSD AKC website. He responded quickly and provided all of the information I needed going into this process. He is very knowledgeable about the breed and I could not have felt more secure about choosing the right puppy based on what we wanted out of him. Thor is as gentle as it comes, and he is an amazing guard dog. Paul called it when Thor was 9 weeks old. Thor comes from a great pedigree who was trained under Paul. I have since recommended Paul to another customer and they also had the same great experience I did. The toughest thing about getting a puppy is wondering what his personality will be like, is he healthy, among other uncertainties. Be rest assured, all of those questions will be answered HONESTLY. We purchased our first German Shepard from Paul last year and we couldn't be happier with the experience we have had with him. The puppy was an amazing addition to our family. Paul did wonders for our rescue who had absolutely no manners when we first got him as a three year old. Paul does a fantastic job! We had a very tough situation where even our vet recommended our 2 year old Rottweiler/Labrador mix be put down.
