Made it just in time before KRU closed! It was our father's Birthday and we were running late! Luckily for us the kitchen would be open until 9. With an open kitchen, we could smell the aromas but "nuh too strong"! Just enough to make you feel a bit "gravalicious"! The food was fresh and vibrant. As always, the portion size was very satisfying. I tried Dad's fish, it was superb! Thanks KRU! read more

I was in the area and felt like Jamaican food so I decided to give Kru a try. I ordered for pickup but when I walked in I was pleasantly surprised by the vibes. Bob Marley playing at an enjoyable volume and a good amount of seating inside. Customer service was great and my order was hot and ready in time. Smelled soo good so I couldn't wait to dig in. My curry chicken was flavorful with just the right amount of spice with white rice and plantains. And the Rasta Pasta with oxtails were scrumptious! The oxtail was meaty and the portion was enough for 2 easily. I will definitely be back soon! read more

Place is insane! Hands-down the best jerk chicken I have ever had and I just got back from Jamaica recently. I'm here twice a week! Stew chicken is incredible too. Recently brought my buddy in the Bronx some oxtail and he said it's the best he's ever had besides his mamas haha....The owner and workers couldn't be any nicer also. Danbury got a Gem! Iv also been going to the their smoothie spot in southbury for couple years also. Top notch ingredients all around! read more

So I decided to try this spot because I'm working in the area today... I'm disappointed because they sold me leftovers... I should've know though I went in at 10am. The service was great but the guy wasn't honest about the food being from the day before like I asked. The ambience is clean and inviting. I'm not sure if I'd visit again though, maybe later in the day where I know I might have a chance of freshly prepared foods. read more

Tried this wonderful oxtail with Rice and peas with steamed vegetables. First time visiting this establishment. The oxtails fell off the bone. The rice and peas were good. The steamed vegetables were good too. I also was afforded the opportunity to try the festival for the first time, which was fried dough that had a nice semi sweet ending to it. The service was great also. Nice mix of island music playing . Very clean restaurant and the restroom was clean also. also ordered the fried chicken. Which was also tasty. . Very nice staff also, Who also gave great recommendations to try everything. I love that. Happy eating read more

Amazing food and atmosphere. Finally an authentic West Indian establishment that offers authentic cuisine with the spice.

Best Jamaican food in the area! Jerk chicken was perfect! Rasta Pasta was flavorful. Festival was fresh & soft, not oily and hard. Pumpkin rice was unique & had actual pieces of pumpkin in it (I wish I had some more pumpkin pieces :)) Mac & cheese was really nice as well. This location also has cold pressed juice options. Wish they had a few more vegetarian options (for my husband). But over all the place was great & had awesome customer service. Very nice & responsible staff. There is plenty of indoor seating & had a modern decor. read more

The food was really good, I loved the jerk chicken and the sauce. The vegetables could've been cooked just a little more. The service was fast and pleasant, I absolutely enjoyed the interaction with the guy at the register. I ordered to go, the presentation of my food was great! It's a restaurant with plenty of seating both booths and bar height chairs/table you can sit at. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some authentic Caribbean dishes. read more

This place is beautifully decorated and love the Bob Marley music. The Serve and people are very friendly and helpful. I had a chicken patty for lunch and the flavors brought me back to Jamaica. I had a hard time picking what to buy because I wanted to try everything. I bought the curry goat for my husband and he said his mouth was enjoying the flavors. This is the best curry goat he had. I tried a few pieces and he is right. He enjoyed the rice and peas. I also bought the Mac and cheese which was so flavorful. I had the jerk chicken with pumpkin rice which were amazing. The flavors in my food was amazing. Keep up the good work there. I will be back and will try the fish next time. read more

Food excellent; authentic flavors, generous portions. Very clean restaurant. Friendly, welcoming service. Will visit as often as I can.

What a wonderful treat! In a city where I'm often confounded as to where I might find a good meal, this Jamaican cuisine hit the spot. The curry goat was tender: had a wonderful spice. The Pumpkin rice...delectable. The chicken soup with dumpling outstanding -- the meat, moist and tender -- the dumplings, chewy and flavorful. With a first experience like this, I'll be back to try their escovitch fish or braised oxtail. Check them out. You'll be happy. Approved! :) read more

Great Caribbean Restaurant best in Danbury. I bought 4 different meals. For my family. And then bought more the next day.

Service needs serious improvement! Put in an order a week ahead of an event, then called the day of to make sure they'd have it ready on time, and was told no problem it'll be ready on time. Got there to pick up order and they had just started and it wouldn't be ready for another 30-45 minutes! Will NOT use them again. read more

We had take out. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. We had a beef patty, (small size) jerk chicken combo and chicken soup. Everything was very tasty. You can tell that it was homemade. I noticed this establishment by shopping in the plaza so I decided to stop by. I purchased a mild beef patty, and a small chicken noodle soup, and a mild beef patty. I would not buy the soup again. The establishment was clean and the customer service was great. read more
