Working with Joaquin to plan the trip was seamless and straightforward. He provided extremely useful information, and when our trip approached he and Marleny finalized the itinerary and provided us with concise yet very important information on how to cross the border and meet our driver. I had never crossed the border on foot, but it was pretty seamless. It's about a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from the border to Ensenada, and I didn't feel comfortable doing that drive on my own, so having Baja Winery Tours provide transportation was essential and eliminated the stress of getting around. Baja Winery Tours set up all the reservations at wineries and restaurants in Valle de Guadalupe. The wineries we visited were on point, and the food was absolutely spectacular. I was glad that we were able to have everything arranged, and be high quality, without having to do a ton of research. On our last full day, our dinner ran a little long and then we hit a bit of traffic getting back to the hotel. Our driver handled these issues with grace and full understanding. I would highly recommend having Baja Winery Tours provide all the logistics and travel if you're planning on visiting the area. I could not have asked for a better team to spend my wine tour with. Liz was funny, out-going, and always available to take a picture for you. We went to three wineries and each one had something special to offer. The lunch we had was exquisite. The brownie pairing with wine was amazing!!! My group had the turkey wraps, roast beef sandwiches, and the Cesar salad! Food kept us going as we sipped many great wines. Besides being an expert on wine, Paul Anthony also told us a lot about San Diego history along the way. It's hard to imagine a more perfect host. The first stop was the Bernardo Winery, where we learned about its history while having a delicious flight of wines (there were six different flight options!) and enjoyed a tasty charcuterie platter. The next stop was the Cordiano Winery, which had amazing views. We had another tasty flight there along with a salad and a delicious pizza. (My wife has a gluten allergy, along with other food allergies, and they were able to accommodate them all at both wineries.) The tour took about 4 hours. This was definitely one of the most fun experiences we've had in a while.

I've done quite a few wine tours, and unfortunately this one was my least favorite. It was also the first wine tour I've done that only visited two locations, which was a bit of a letdown. The first winery had a nice selection, we got three wine tastings. The Burgundy was my favorite from The Heritage flight. The property itself was beautiful to walk around, with amazing scenery and lots of great photo spots. We also stopped by the sweets shop and picked up a few treats. There were also surrounding shops near the winery. Personally, they weren't really my style, but that comes down to taste. If you like clothing and home décor, you might enjoy it more. Clothing prices looked to start around $50 and went up from there. The home décor shop was very cute with lots of handmade items, mostly in the $20 range and higher. I skipped the candle shop due to allergies. The charcuterie board was a nice touch and came with a good variety of items. The second wine location included five tastings. I personally wasn't a fan of the wines here. One person in our group ordered a glass from the regular menu and shared it, it was much better than the tasting options, and most of the group seemed to agree this stop was a bit of a disappointment. That said, the views were absolutely incredible. The pizza included in the tour was a highlight for me, I had the vegetarian, and it was really good. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. There wasn't much walking around at this stop, so we mostly stayed at the table and ate. My favorite parts of the tour was the food and the tour guide. I'm glad I tried it and can check another wine region off my list, even if it wasn't my favorite experience overall. For reference, we were picked up at 9:45 AM and dropped off around 3:00 PM.

Mike really did make this a great experience for all of us, what a host! Our tour was on Thursday, which we learned was significantly less busy than the weekends. We were picked up around 10am and got back to our hotel close to 4pm and it was an absolutely wonderful day! We were a group of 6 and became fast friends. We had something like 6 tastings at each place, and a discount on what you buy. We ended up leaving with a total of 2 bottles of wine and some marinara sauce. Mike was a blast, each winery was amazing, and our lunch was super tasty! They do this tour in different areas of California and I would love to check those out.

The small bus fits up to 20, but that would be a squeeze in my opinion. Adam and Paula were the service representatives that I spoke to over the phone to help with quotes and planning my 8 hour day. Both reps were very responsive and knowledgeable. They were able to give me tips on how to structure visiting 3 wineries in one day. A bonus is that this company is partnered with a lot of Temecula wineries and offered us tasting card discounts (Bel Vino and Maurice Carrie). Adam and Paula communicated to me via phone, text, and email for the quotes and info. They allowed multiple adjustments to my itinerary and accommodated adding on tasting cards last minute for my guests which was super helpful! Our driver, Jennifer, was early to our pickup location and waited outside for my large group to arrive. She provided me with the whole run down of the day and confirmed all of the details with myself and my guests, leaving room for questions before leaving. Super professional, friendly, efficient, safe, timely, and knowledgeable. The bus was clean, no smells, fun LED lights, a bathroom on board, water, ice coolers, and cups available. The one thing I will say is our bus' Bluetooth for music kept cutting in and out throughout the drive which was likely a wire issue. Jennifer was quick to reach over the phone after dropping us off, which was helpful when my brother in law wanted to go back to the bus to grab a surprise birthday cake for me. Jennifer gave us timely updates of when to be back at the bus in between venues to ensure enough time. Tip: if you're planning to go to more than one winery, you'll need more time than you think. 3 wineries and we definitely could've spent more time at each... 2 is a great number if you have a big group like mine. We went over in time but it thankfully the schedule was flexible for the rest of the evening. Jennifer prefaced any overtime charges at the beginning of the day so there were no surprises.
