My family and I have been coming here for 20 years. It is truly a local gem. I have loved growing up near this farm. It's great for Christmas trees, pumpkins, antiques and flowers. It just depends on the season! At Christmas there's a giant Santa sled in the front. They also have hot cider in the jam room to take a cup. It's very hot! At Halloween there is a hay ride and a corn kernel dunk. I love it! They also have frisbee golf! This is a family owned and run business and it is a must see and stop. read more

We did the hayride for a date night early in October, and I thought it was fun and a nice peaceful break from the busyness of most of northern Virginia these days. Krops Crops is a legit agricultural type place, not as fancy or dressed up as other pumpkin patches, but if you're like me, that kinda adds to the appeal. Our hayride driver was super nice too. The apple cider is ridiculously good, and I recommend stocking up. read more

Came here after I was prompted to check it out when I was looking for scenic drives - one article specifically named this place. I am all about that Fall Life and shopping for Jams and Farmer's Market goodies. It was a pleasant surprise that this place was FULL of antiques. Tons of fun stuff. Came during summer and there is not central air, so be prepared to sweat a bit if it's warm outside. There's ample room inside and tons to look at, I would definitely plan for 45 minutes to an hour and, if the ground is dry, check out and pet the animals. read more

What a cute place! A friend invited us here for a potluck. Parking is available in front of the store. They sell popcorn, holiday decorations, jams, wreaths, veggies, etc. For $7 we got a hayride to a camp site, apples, apple cider, and a pumpkin. We all brought food and drinks and sat around the nice warm fire. There are picnic tables and plenty of seating around the fire. We went when it was nice and dark, which made for a very cool hayride to the campsite. There are strings of lights around the campsite, which was incredibly romantic. We had quite an impressive spread of good eats and most importantly we all had a wonderful time with one another. Roasting marshmallows and gathering around the fire was a lot of fun. Employees are very sweet. There are porta-potties at the camp site as well. Highly recommended! read more

I really enjoy this place. Especially in the fall. I found out about it when my son's preschool came for hayrides and pumpkin patch fun every October. There is a little farm stand store here that sells apples, gourds, pumpkins, squash, ... And various decorations for the Fall and Christmas seasons. Also, in the fall, you can rent a camp site for all your friends and family. It's totally reasonable -- $7/person. Everyone gets an apple and cider. There are picnic tables to eat at near the camp fire. Great for birthdays, family reunions and church picnics. One of the best things is coming after Thanksgiving and getting to climb on Santa Claus' big sleigh. And sit with Santa for a photo. There are deer and everything! The sleigh is enormous. Kids love it. Mr. Krop grows his own Christmas trees here. You can go cut your own. So cool to have this in our Northern Virginia area. Poinsettias too. And wreaths. Oh! And a big corn pit for kids to play in! read more

You can do better. I only went for the "pick your own" pumpkins. For $5 a rider you get a short hayride through dilapidated fields to a grassy field with the same exact variety of pumpkin spread out in a grassy patch of field. They don't grow them there so there's nothing to pick. Each pumpkin is about $25. There was no variety of sizes. They've stashed the big cardboard containers that the pumpkins originally came in behind the barn. Even the farm produce is all from elsewhere. The corn box thing is only big enough for one kid at a time. read more

I feel bad for writing a bad review because the people were nice there but I have to be honest. I was pretty shocked to see this place has such a high rating and noticed it was mainly for Christmas related stuff. However, the fall related Krop's Crop's was really bad. First of all, the pumpkin selection that was offered in front was not that great. There was a lot of them but they were all pretty much the same size. I would have liked to seen a variation of shapes and sizes. What needed the most help was the "hay ride". Not only did it take you through a junk yard filled with trash, it took you to an area where you can "pick" a pumpkin and bring it back with you. They tell you before the ride starts that the pumpkins were placed there and that they weren't grown there. It literally was 20-30 pumpkins placed on the grass. The ride stopped for few minutes to for you to "pick" your pumpkin or go look at several chickens they had in a fence. They ride was cheap and it definitely felt cheap. They cart they pull you in felt like the wooden rails we're going to break at any moment. I think they need to work on the "hayride". Not really sure if people want to ride through a junk yard. read more

Do not waste your time. No one to help you figure out what to do for pumpkin hay ride. When you find the Only one person available, they don't even know anything about the pumpkin patch. Then you have to wait on line with people buying pumpkins to even get the tickets therefore it takes long time, since that is the only person working. Then if they make a mistake they get rude and throw the money back at you. Old and dingy too. Kids bored waiting with nothing to do, well besides a building about to fall apart with corn kernels in it. read more

My favorite place to buy my Christmas Tree! Last year I set out to find the perfect tree, I went to a few spots in Mclean, a couple in Vienna and even in Fairfax. I was disappointed by the choices in all the places I visited, couldn't find anything that was what I was looking for. I decided to venture over to Krop's Crops and met Mr. Krop, he was so helpful and I found my perfect tree, so full and fluffy! I knew this year I wasn't going to be happy unless I got my tree from there - I went with my fiancé and looked at all the wonderful trees but I couldn't find that perfect one that I was looking for - I needed one that was exactly like last years tree. I showed the nice guy helping us, the owners son, a picture of my tree last year and he immediately looked at the stock of trees (they had that they hadn't put on display yet). Within a few seconds he pulled out a tree, opened it and lifted it up and it was EXACTLY what I wanted! Two years in a row and many more years to come! I had a unfavorable experience buying a Christmas tree at my local Home Depot. I came to Krop's Crops with friends and had the exact opposite. I loved that I was a family owned and operated business. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, helpful, and so polite. They had a variety of trees, some that were already chopped and others that you could hunt and chop down yourself. Inside was a lovely antique shop, where I purchased a few items. They had a cat nestled by the wood stove, and outside were a few goats and sheep to feed! Hot cocoa was available at no extra cost. This was a stress free, very enjoyable experience. I plan on returning every year for my Christmas tree. read more

This place is pretty cool, I came here for an event with about 30 people. We took the hayride to a campsite, and it was set up with picnic tables and benches around the firepit. They had also strung lights through the trees which was a really nice touch. At one point, this slightly creepy guy walked up to our campsite and said he lived right next to the site. Apparently he comes around a lot. I'm sure he's harmless but it would be nice to know that there's some kind of security there and random people can't just walk up to us. read more

Dropped by for a pumpkin, came back with much more! This is an unassuming little place with friendly, genuine staff who sell local produce like tomatoes and a variety of apples. Locally-made foods ranged from honeys to dressings to pickles to fruit preserves. The cider is phenomenal and 100% apples! The pumpkin selection was impressive compared to local grocery stores, large, orange, and healthy. There was a nursery and various plants and flowers one can purchase from the pot. Even had a chili dog for $2.50. There are also things kids could enjoy, including a corn pit, hay ride, and small petting zoo. Small, local, and low-key, right in Northern Virginia! read more

This review is for their "fall festivities". We went there today and was a little disappointed as I think the reality differed from what their website described. Yes there was a small area outside in which people can pick out pumpkins. Inside the main building there were a small selection of tiny pumpkins to choose from. There were very little Halloween decorations. The hayride, when it was our turn, was out of order due to the tractor running out of gas from the previous ride. Though no one informed us nor the others who were waiting for a while that the hayrides had actually stopped for the day, even after the driver had said he would be back after getting more fuel. We did not see any farm animals around as their website stated, maybe it was part of the hayride? I don't know. The staff themselves were friendly. The only thing I thought this place was worth the drive for was the fact that their antiques for sale was a significant amount, I plan to come back here with my mom next month just to peruse the antiques. I think this place is nice for people who live close to them, for me personally it wasn't worth the half hour drive for pumpkins/fall festivities. read more

Came upon this gem while looking for a Christmas tree and was helped by Mr. Krop himself! The nicest gentleman and you can tell he really cares about what he does. For trees, he has pre-cut and trimmed trees out front and if you want to cut down your own tree, you need to head out to his field in the back. The trees are a little less expensive but you're doing all the work yourself, with the exception of the bale process. The little shop you head into to check out is cute and filled with the smell of cinnamon and apples. There's also a corn lot for kids (and adults) to play around in. It will get into all crevices of clothing and shoes but it's still fun. And did I mention the cute goats you can feed?!?! I love mom and pop places like this! read more

What a great place to visit! I'm so glad there are still some farms in the Northern Virginia area. Krop's Crops sits in the midst of giant houses and urban sprawl, so this is a breath of fresh air. At Krop's, you can buy fresh produce - tomatoes, onions, gourds, etc - and they have animals for you and the kids to see. They also have hayrides and you can go and pick your own pumpkin at Halloween or cut your own Christmas Tree after Thanksgiving. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend going. This is the perfect place to take your children for a relatively quick trip to a farm for some good fun. read more

We love Krop's Crops. We live in Northwest DC and first discovered Krop's when we were Christmas tree hunting a few years ago. Now it's a mandatory stop every time we drive into Northern Virginia any time of year. They offer wonderful produce year-round and the family that runs the outfit is friendly and accommodating. Christmas trees remain the highlight. We buy our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving each year, and each year the trees are incredibly fresh (often from Pennsylvania), the selection abundant, and the prices eminently reasonable.
