What a cute place! A friend invited us here for a potluck. Parking is available in front of the store. They sell popcorn, holiday decorations, jams, wreaths, veggies, etc. For $7 we got a hayride to a camp site, apples, apple cider, and a pumpkin. We all brought food and drinks and sat around the nice warm fire. There are picnic tables and plenty of seating around the fire. We went when it was nice and dark, which made for a very cool hayride to the campsite. There are strings of lights around the campsite, which was incredibly romantic. We had quite an impressive spread of good eats and most importantly we all had a wonderful time with one another. Roasting marshmallows and gathering around the fire was a lot of fun. Employees are very sweet. There are porta-potties at the camp site as well. Highly recommended!

I really enjoy this place. Especially in the fall. I found out about it when my son's preschool came for hayrides and pumpkin patch fun every October. There is a little farm stand store here that sells apples, gourds, pumpkins, squash, ... And various decorations for the Fall and Christmas seasons. Also, in the fall, you can rent a camp site for all your friends and family. It's totally reasonable -- $7/person. Everyone gets an apple and cider. There are picnic tables to eat at near the camp fire. Great for birthdays, family reunions and church picnics. One of the best things is coming after Thanksgiving and getting to climb on Santa Claus' big sleigh. And sit with Santa for a photo. There are deer and everything! The sleigh is enormous. Kids love it. Mr. Krop grows his own Christmas trees here. You can go cut your own. So cool to have this in our Northern Virginia area. Poinsettias too. And wreaths. Oh! And a big corn pit for kids to play in!

    Pick your own pumpkin "patch"

You can do better. I only went for the "pick your own" pumpkins. For $5 a rider you get a short hayride through dilapidated fields to a grassy field with the same exact variety of pumpkin spread out in a grassy patch of field. They don't grow them there so there's nothing to pick. Each pumpkin is about $25. There was no variety of sizes. They've stashed the big cardboard containers that the pumpkins originally came in behind the barn. Even the farm produce is all from elsewhere. The corn box thing is only big enough for one kid at a time.

Really enjoyed this fall day! We went on the hayride, saw the sheep, played in the corn, got some cider, shopped antiques and bought a couple pumpkins! It was great! Everyone was wearing masks and were very friendly. Clean environment and beautiful scenery!

Nice selection of vintage items. This was my first visit there and I will visit more often now that I know it's so close.

My Mom was visiting and wanted to visit some local antique stores nearby. There's not much…read more "antique" that I'm aware of or could find in the metro DC area so this ended up on the very short list of places to visit. We came here first and were blown away by how neat, clean, and well decorated the store was. The first item I was drawn to was a beautifully hand painted egg in excellent condition - for something like $13. I couldn't think of anyone it would have been a good gift for, but wish I did! It was gorgeous and definitely a piece someone would cherish. They had numerous such type items. My Mom found some fabrics and other items she loved so much she was willing to get them and schlep them all the way back to Hawaii in her luggage. She also enjoyed looking at all the jewelry in the cases and talking with the helpful volunteers. The only off note for me was while talking to one of the volunteers, they made it a point to let me know they didn't accept all donations. Twice. I almost laughed out loud in her face the second time. Don't assume because I'm in shorts and a T-shirt that I'm not aware of the niche the store is attempting to maintain, or that I don't have items to donate that they would make money off of. *But* they are volunteers and they were super nice to my Mom so they get a pass for it. I'll be bringing other friends who love this kind of shopping by in the future. Being the first store we visited made the others pale in comparison. Definitely a winner!

Tucked away in an industrial park, the store is quaint yet extremely well put together and merchandised ... it really made shopping fun because the way they had everything arranged literally caught your attention and drew you in. Oh and the entire store was 50% off so it made discovering treasures even that much more exciting. I purchased a unique pair of boho wedge sandals and tons of bracelets and a necklace ... all for $15!!!! I didn't take any pics which is so unlike me, but that just tells you how much fun I had and I'll definitely be back!

Based on the estimated price range stated, I agreed to have drapes made.Pressure was put on me while I was on vacation to rush picking all details online for the order immediately to meet my critical deadline for my daughter's wedding reception in September. In September, I notified the company that I had a severe case of COVID, and they immediately stated that the installation would be canceled. Then,I was told I would be charged an extra $200.00 for cancelling.I had to argue in my very sick state with several Calico personnel before this additional charge was retracted.I was offered only 11/1/24 for the new installation date-1 day prior to the rescheduled reception date. When the man showed late to install the drapes, they were defective.I then missed having them for Thanksgiving, the holidays, and a milestone birthday for my husband and myself in December. The entire purpose of purchasing these drapes was ruined; the price was 3 times what I had originally been estimated; the drapes are merely ok; there has been no follow up since they were installed; and I could have ordered something similar from Amazon for 1/3 the price. Except for the salesperson, Bridgett, who was very nice and apologetic, the manager and other employees there were rude and difficult. I feel that I wasted a lot of money for something that was far than satisfactory.

Well, it's by far STILL the most comfortable sofa I've ever sat on in my life! I absolutely love this sofa. None of the cushions have sagged or given in any way. I was worried at first because I have a cat that likes to lay in the middle of the back cushions but they always bounce back. It's so comfortable you could fall asleep on it night after night and prefer it over the bed! I love that they're friendly but not overly pushy on the sales floor, too. I like to be able to walk and think, not bombarded like you are at some other stores. Though Bassett is pricey, the quality is worth it. They do sales from time to time and that's when we bought. Very happy. Oh! And the ability to choose the fabric for the custom through pillows was a great touch. It made our couch really personalized.

About 15 months later, the motor which controls the love seats (allows the pedestal to go up or down) died. Without it, you cannot raise or lower the pedestal. Not much durability, right? 15-16 months for $12K, right? And I just noticed other Yelp remarks, showing 1 star and indicating durability issues. Seems like a pattern. When we called them, they were able to quickly diagnose the problem (bad external battery pack). But they said we would have to pay $199 to replace it. We thought maybe they could make an exception, since these pieces are relatively new, and considering the significant expense of the furniture only a year or so ago. Nope! Also, we called the folks who manufacture the battery pack. They quoted us a price of $110 (which includes shipping). So, a $90 mark-up by Bassett. Awesome. On top of that, Bassett's Customer Care was of no help whatsoever. So, if you buy from Bassett, beware of durability issues, and don't expect help from their Customer Care folks.
