This store has the worst deli meat slicing department of any supermarket I've ever been in. Some days There is, literally, no service. Multiple times I've waited until I just gave up. Today 5 employees were behind the deli counter. 2 looked at me and ignored me. 3 never even turned around to check for customers in over 5 minutes of me waiting. They were deep personal discussions.When I finally asked one girl if anyone was going to slice meat she mumbled something to 2 of her teammates. They all then turned and looked at me. Then returned to their personal business. There is no management presence on the store floor to complain too. I hope you like pre packaged meat. read more

I'm an 'O.R.' Original Resident. I saw Lakeside Mall go up and remember this Kroger being a Farmer Jack. I really like this Kroger mostly because it is so convenient but there are other features that make this a good Kroger's. They made the store larger in the past few years so there are many more options to shop for items. On Thursday, you can go to the deli and get a two piece hot chicken meal for only $3.99. Their cheese station is surprisingly really good. I'm not a fan of cheese but thanks to this store's free samples I have really learned a lot about cheese outside of cheddar and mozzarella. They used to have a great olive bar but too many lower-character people felt it was more like a 'free lunch' bar so they had to close that station down and put the olives in pre-sold containers. Greedy, nasty people sure do ruin good things for others. Back to the cheese station, the employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great selection of wine and the prices are very reasonable. I like their Kroger brand called 'Simple Truth'; I find that a lot of their 'Simple Truth' items are very tasty and beat out some of the more commercial vendors. I especially like their Simple Truth water, the water bottles are a nice size and the plastic is thick enough so they don't bend in your hand after you have drank half the bottle. There is a lot to do at this Kroger store, from the stuff toy claw machine, generous book and magazine section to the Starbucks cafe, this Kroger has their act together. Some of the more recent flaws with this store are the ever-increasing empty shelves, the Kroger brand occupying premium shelf space so you have to hunt for your favorite commercial brand. The line at the service counter is ALWAYS long! They need more than one person working at that service counter. The Lottery machine at the North entrance blocks the hall so people have to beg to get by the lottery players using the machine. read more

do not use the gas pumps that are across the street from this particular store. i was just there and their system would deduct the kroger fuel points from june of this year. i asked the older guy in the brick building why this happened and asked for refund, he then in turn asked a guy name "mark" who said it couldn't be done. i called corporate and they told me that their "financial department" couldn't give me the difference back on my credit card. the only way they would be able to help is if this occurrence happened again! kroger not only has some of the highest food prices in town, they have the rudest employees. won't shopping at any of their stores, won't be buying any gas from them. time to find a new place to buy gas. read more

I live 50 steps away. Literally a 2 minute walk. So close that I hear the semis unload every night at this location. I will start my car, let it warm up and drive to meijer which is 6x farther than go to this location. Meijer has cheaper prices, better quality, more selection and a much, MUCH, faster checkout than this place. This location also employs employees that are rude to customers. I left my cart at the self checkout lane and walked right out. I wont be back. I blame Kroger upper management for this deteriorating business. I go to this Kroger all the time. Lately, my boyfriend has been shopping while I work. We love their amazing prices and food, as well as their fuel points for shopping here. This store is much bigger than the Kroger on 21 mile. There is always a lot of stock. I admit sometimes things are not fully stocked, but that happens on weekends. I feel like they have deals every day. Something different. Today, we got a birthday cake for my boyfriend. Other Krogers have far more cakes, but this selection was still perfect. I was so excited to find a chocolate icecream cake. It fits my boyfriend perfectly. Their cakes are always fresh and taste amazing. We buy their cakes for every event from birthdays to parties to gifts. Every time we send a cake to a home, they ask where we got it. We used to buy Vince and Joe's cakes, but we had issues a few times with them with freshness and taste. kroger cakes are moist, never dry or tasteless. Their deli area is pretty awesome. They have fresh items already packages or you can pick something out at the deli. Great option for work sandwiches. Today, cheese was 3 for $5, an amazing deal. They don't even expire until August. Another thing we get every time is 60 eggs which only costs $2.35. We go through them quick. Great source of protein. Perfect item for Easter if you celebrate it and need eggs. Cheaper price from other eggs and other stores. Meijer never really has 60 pack. Sadly. Their milk lasts way longer than Meijer and Target, and is cheaper. This Kroger has a lot of self-checkout lanes. They are pretty fast too. There is also a Starbucks inside. I love that I can buy a Starbucks while I shop, especially because I tend to spend over an hour at the store. I love shopping at Kroger because I can buy specific food items that are cheaper than other stores, and it helps me save money on food and gas. I love that their gas prices are already cheaper than competitor prices, and you still can save money. If you shop here, you earn fuel points, which you can redeem for money off gas. read more

I had to explain how manufacturer coupons work to the night U scan person. That concept that the total price of an item can be very low when sales are combined with manufacturer coupons. It's okay if I spend $.50 on an item that's regularly $5 because the manufacturer will reimburse the store for the value of the coupon. That's the whole point. The store collects all their coupons and sends them in. If you are putting someone in charge of a POS system at night they should understand the basics. Ultimately I just removed the items from my order because the rep was very confused. This store needs to work on training or be better staffed by managers at night. read more

UGH!!! I have an 8 month old and every parent knows how difficult it is to grocery shop with kids SO I choose to do grocery pick up to add some convenience to my life. I have been doing pick up at this location for almost a year and a half & in the last 6 months I have had 3 separate instances where half of my order was forgotten and a few weeks ago they gave me the wrong order entirely, refusing to give me a refund or discount for having to drive back up to the store to get the correct groceries. I understand if this happens once but FOUR times!? On top of that, when I do have time or energy the store is never stocked! I would recommend shopping somewhere else. read more

The manager of this store must be "quite quitting ". The shelves are barely stocked and what is there looks like a Walmart the day after Black Friday. Tons of empty space or wilted vegetables in the produce section. The lunch meat section was all tore up and the kid restocking the shelves had no idea where the liverwurst would be located if they had it. He also had no interest in finding out or finding someone that could help. The fish and meat counter hasn't been open or stocked for months. After all that though I wanted to call out the very friendly and helpful employees in the deli and bakery. The only bright spots in this dumpster fire of a grocery store. read more

This store had improved for a long time. Shelves are half empty again, cart corrals bulging, and store is dirty. Always out of stock on shelves. Starbucks is a joke, as employees are not properly trained. The drinks are terrible. Today, I made eye contact with four employees, who turned their backs on me. I had to go to the registers to ask for wax paper, which was not on the shelf. No one checked to see if there was more. Today, 12/10/21, I walked in and immediately smelled sewage. The shelves were half empty and filthy. There were 0 employees on the floor. I left and am done with this location. FYI: None of the self checks take cash. read more

Because of the nasty weather lately I thought I'd go back to Kroger since it's so close. Not a change. Except for the fact that there is 1 door to go into for returning your empty return bottles. After sticking to the filthy floors plus waiting for help with a shutdown machine ! You then have to go outside to enter yet another door to shop. SMH what kind of a set-up is that. If I could give no stars, I would. Ordered a pickup order from this store. When we arrived, the person delivering didn't tell us that none of our meat was in the order. We got home, realized there was no meat, and called immediately. We were informed that they were "out of stock" and when we asked if that meant there was no meat in the store, the person we were talking to said she hadn't checked but she trusted her staff. This was a very displeasing and disappointing experience. read more

What was once my favorite Kroger in the area has taken a turn for the worse. The store used to have a large, contiguous natural foods section. Now, its contents are strewn throughout the store as if arranged by a random number generator. Frozen food section labels don't correspond to what is in the coolers. Natural foods vegetables are tossed together, not clearly arranged. In summary, this Kroger is no better than any other around. I will no longer go out of my way to shop here. read more

I've been a customer at this particular location for years. We do have a few other Kroger stores within about the same driving distance, but I keep gravitating back to this one. Why? I like the fact that it is a bit smaller in size than the new 'super' store up the road. I like it because it's not as busy as the 'other' newer Kroger down the street. I like it because the layout is not so 'broken' up with 'intersections' at the aisles. It's simply an easy store to maneuver through. This 'older' Kroger has been nicely updated and remodeled with a fresher, newer and more modern look and layout. Sure it's not as big as other 'competitor' grocery stores but that's what keeps me coming back. From my experience, the other two local Kroger's are just too big for a relaxing shopping trip. Yes, this is a personal preference, but if you're looking for this type of experience, this is the location for you. When it comes to the 'mandatory' grocery shopping, I'd rather be relaxed in a smaller setting than meandering around in the bigger stores searching among many more items to find what I'm looking for. The parking lot has never been an issue. I've seen worse at other grocery stores around the area. The employees are usually very friendly and efficient and there's plenty of help if needed. The check lanes are always being monitored and if it gets too busy, they're on top of getting more assistance to open additional registers. The selection of 'everything' in the store is just right. Sometimes too many choices aren't necessary. I usually shop using the weekly ad and I also use the Kroger app to help save money. I like the 'reduced' section and sometimes there are great deals to be found. Every area and section in the store is maintained and stocked very well and that says a lot. Grocery shopping isn't one of my favorite things to do, but this is definitely my favorite Kroger to do the necessary buying of life sustaining food and merchandise! read more

Clearly they don't rotate their products or have any kind of safety protocols involved with expired food items. I've been to pretty much all of the Krogers in the Metro Detroit area I've been to the Grosse Pointe fancy ones I've been to the st. Clair Shore ones and I've been to the ones in The Not So Nice areas. But this Kroger has a Starbucks!!!! good mythical god.. a Starbucks.. in a Kroger!!!!! which means they have a clearance section on their pastries cookies Exedra including coffee so what do you do when you need a last minute gift for your daughter's teacher on her birthday I got her some tea that was on sale at $2 refillable mug and some Kroger flowers that were on clearance for 2.99 awesome!!! They also have a drive-up pharmacy the staff was very friendly and accommodating and I might just go out of my way to go to this Kroger for the future what could be better than sitting on your Frappuccino while shopping at Kroger with the screaming kid just buy a cake pop shove it in his mouth and tell him to put down and life will be beautiful that's why this Kroger gets a plus for me read more

I know times are tough now. What I don't get is the lack of baggers. It's not my job. I have to do this almost every time I go and my cart is always full.bThe girl said "you need to help bag, sorry." I have kids and I can't just stand there bagging my cart full of groceries. Should give us a discount if we are to do others jobs. I live less than 1 mile away, so this Kroger is ultra convenient to get to. At the same time, I don't have to pay a premium for such convenience. Produce is always fresh, there are no unpleasant odours from the meat or seafood sections, and with a free Kroger card you can score great deals every week on something. Staff are always courteous and most of the time there will be 2 people assisting at the checkout - one to scan the groceries and one to bag everything, which improves efficiency. This place is the worst. I placed an order at 11am and still an waiting for delivery at 9 pm. The manager Jay is a complete joke.

Pros: They have a decent selection of natural and organic items. Often there is a store manager standing near the registers, so sometimes there's an employee on hand to answer questions. Most of the cashiers are friendly. Cons: Small store, no gas pumps, awful produce, the meats are more expensive than other nearby stores, and there are never enough baggers. read more

Just left there and I could not have been more disturbed by the disorganization, filth and lack of stock on a Saturday morning before Thanksgiving. The entry is dirty, I saw dirty Clorox the type wipes on the food shelves and then I go down beverage aisle and there is a bucket/mop container just sitting there and believe me that water had not been changed in days. It was disgusting. Customers were just walking around it. Spoke to a customer service representative and I got excuses. If this is what customers see in the aisle what is going on behind the back doors. Time to find a new grocer. read more

This is my neighborhood Kroger Store. The gas station is new and very nice. The store is decent, a bit dirty at times. The staff is always friendly and polite. I've only had one issue. I bought a thing of body soap that someone obviously bought and returned after filling it up with water. (GROSS!!!). I hear they are planning on moving this location to 13 mile. Which is kind of upsetting as it will leave a huge vacant gap in the strip center at 14. Especially since they JUST built the gas station. On the good side of that, I'm sure it will be a beautiful new store. It would just be nice if they stayed in their same location. I hope they keep the same people, they sure are nice. read more

Love this Kroger. I usually would give it a 5 star. Last Thursday I was searching for an item and couldn't find it. I saw a worker (Cara) walking around. So I approached her and asked her if she could direct me to the item I was looking for. I literally waited 5-6 seconds for her to acknowledge me. She said "I'm sending a message, I'm on my break. It's on isle 23". And she walked away....DUDE!!! If you are wearing a Kroger shirt, and walking around. How the heck would I have know you were on break. Employees should not be walking around wearing the brand name if they don't want to get approached!!! This shows to tell you that customer service is not being trained well to these workers. I Can appreciate you being on break but don't wander around wearing your gear and not expect me to ask for help. Hey alone, I get attitude because I interrupted her text message.
