I have shopped some fabulous Kroger stores that were bright and clean, new and shiny. This isn't one of them. I wonder if perhaps they've simply taken over some other supermarket of years past and rebranded. It is dimly lit with a vague "yellow" feel to it. The fixtures seem older, the floor is polished but not smooth, the parking lot could use a repaving. Overall, just not the general awesome I've come to expect from Kroger. That said, the merchandise was in good shape and the prices were reasonable. I had no problem finding something to microwave for dinner and the sushi in the deli area was in good shape. While the building is not feeling like a Kroger, the associates working are Kroger and I feel like they're doing the best they can. Don't let this store give you a bad impression of the chain. I find the staff at all of the Kroger locations in Paducah to be poorly trained, disrespectful and rude. I do not understand why the management does not train their employees to be courteous and competent. It is appalling! When I spend hundreds of dollars on groceries, I expect a simple thank you and please come again at the very least. I expect all the items I purchase to be put in bags and not left on the counter. I expect to be charged the correct price for my items. I expect my items not to be damaged by poor bagging skills. I do not expect to have to tell a grocery cashier what celery is. I do not expect to have to bag my own groceries because there is no staff. I have an unpleasant experience every time I shop at these stores. I feel this is an egregious lack of competency on the part of the store management. And given the current price of groceries, this is not acceptable. read more

What a strange place! I've spent my share of time in Kroger locations but this one felt like taking a spin in the Twilight Zone. I'm not familiar with Paducah, KY but the average age of shopper appeared to be 114 years old. Living in FL, I know what a retirement community looks like and NEVER did I expect to see an older population. I reckon my opinion really doesn't matter because I'm just passing through but I would have assumed this place was in or adjacent to a retirement community. read more

Older store that doesn't have any of the items I get in the Murray store. Just looks very run down and dirty. Won't be doing any shopping at this one unless it's just to pick up a few items. Kroger really needs to come give this place an update and carry more organic items. read more

Paducah's grocery scene is tough. Well, first of all, I'm not sure if "grocery scene" is even a thing. Still, you know what I mean. There are really 7 groceries in town, plus 3 or 4 more out in the county. Of the ones in town, this is the only one that isn't Walmart and is open 24 hours. The Southside Kroger is nicer, but it's too far from us, so I rarely go. This one isn't crowded, (good thing), the selection is strong (also good), but it's needing a renovation (bad thing). It's got the basics: deli & bakery, but there's not a pharmacy. Usually, service is great, even in the busy times. I was contemplating going with 2-stars, but being so close to Roof Brothers Liquor stores pushed it up to 3-stars! read more

I have been going to this Kroger for four or five years now almost every other day or on the weekends because I buy my meals maybe to last me for one or two days so I'm in there usually multiple times a week. I had gotten a money order that was not signed on the back (endorsed) and I also had a money order receipt with it along with my ID. The cashier at the money desk where you do money orders and returns did not want to cash my money order even though I was the one who originally purchased the money order, it wasn't signed on the back by anyone, not even me, and I had the money order receipt. She told us there wasn't a manager in the store that could do it. So while I was standing at the customer service desk calling the customer service for the western union to find out how to cash my money order a different employee cashed my money order for me. But while this was happening the cashier that was refusing to assist me went over to a customer that was bagging up their groceries and started bad talking about me where I could clearly hear them and it escalated to that cashier calling me a bitch while I was on my way to leave the store and when I walked back past her after her calling me a bitch, to go speak with a different employee to speak with a manager after the cashier called me a bitch ... that cashier who called me a bitch then told me that she was going to call 911 on me if I didn't leave her store. The cashier that did end up cashing my money order led me to a supervisor to talk with them about the incident of her calling me a bitch (even though the rude employee said at first there was no manager on duty and to come back in at 7am to get the money order cashed by a manager) I did not get rude with that woman, her name was Teresa and the assistant store manager I talked with the name was Sherry Hill. I don't feel like I will be going back to this Kroger because everyone already has anxiety .. no need to add getting bullied by a Kroger employee to that list of things to get anxious about. I don't want to have to get anxious about it if I go into this Kroger will I be bullied or harassed for asking for requests that most customers ask for because it's a service that Kroger provides or to just get called a name period when I gave that lady no one reason to treat me the way she did or act how she did with getting another customer involved. It's a shame because I live only 1.9 miles away and had been going here for years now. It's like breaking up a tradition. I would continue to go but the assistant store manager didn't seem like she was interested in anything I had to say or what the situation was about, that's why I decided to leave a yelp review to explain the situation and let other people know that you won't be treated with respect and that a simple visit will turn into some kind of traumatic ordeal. read more

No rainchecks??? You care so much about our health snd safety but want customers to come in everyday locking for sale products you have no plans to restock. Poor customer service. read more

Where I come from, we call this a Krappy Kroger. They are remodeling the outside but should have started with the inside instead of putting lipstick on a pig. Poor & disorganized layout, very few prepared food options and the most pitiful beer selection I have ever seen in a grocery store anywhere and I travel all over the US. I have seen better selections in convenience stores. If there is a beer wasteland, this may be it. read more

I'm staying in the area for 7 days and needed to pick up some items. The parking lot spots are angled and the lot itself is large. This is an older store but seems to be well maintained. The frozen food area is arranged differently than other Kroger stores I've been in, the u-scan area was tidy and overall it was a pleasant shopping experience. I gave only an a-ok rating b/c only the u-scan attendant acknowledged my existence- it would have been nice to get a friendly hello for the other employees that were throughout the store. read more

Paducah has 3 Kroger stores. If you have ever lived in another city and are used to modern supermarkets, you will be disappointed. The newest of these 3 buildings was constructed around 1983. Entrances to the stores look dirty and uninviting. Don't expect any frills that are common in other cities. And the saddest part is that Kroger actually operates some good stores in other areas. Compare Paducah's Krogers to the Kroger in Jeffersontown, Kentucky or the Kroger on Union Avenue in Memphis, which has an in-store bakery, pizza restaurant, sushi bar, etc. In the Paducah stores, Kroger's idea of frills is to sell a dozen brands of pork and beans. The Paducah Krogers are serviced out of Memphis and my guess is that the people at the Memphis office of Kroger couldn't find Paducah on a map, much less care what their stores here look like. read more

Customer service woman working 4-30-18 with long dark hair and glasses upon her head was the rudest women ever! Too lazy to walk back and see an item was "on Sale" even though it wasn't in sale paper, so therefore she could not issue me a rain check. Oh I could keep checking back. Ya, right...sorry lady but my time is way too precious to spend in krogers. Another lady in the back offered to walk up with me to get rain check. Told her no thanks, don't want to deal with that woman upfront again and I WON'T be back. Not many places to shop here in Paducah, but Krogers WILL NOT be one of them....I usually spend 200-300 a week there...Oh well, store is old and dirty anyways. Never had to beg for a rain check again to come back and shop and will not start. Terrible store!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! LOW STOCK, RUDE, DIRTY STORE...go to Banks!!! read more

For an older store this one is well maintained, well stocked and carries a wide variety. Employees are always willing to help and order products not normally stocked. Very nice organic department. This is my go-to grocery store in Paducah. So glad we have a better alternative to Wal-Mart. read more

The produce dept is always lacking, the last time I was there the deli was piping fried chicken grease into the health food section so much so that I thought I would leave smelling of it, the price of sale items sometimes do not scan the correct price, and most of the staff is not very friendly. If we had more options, I would not shop here. read more
