Even the price was high and somewhere not doesn't mean it give the people the right to jack up prices without a reason. Everytime I go to this Kroger there is one particular employee that always has his nose uncovered or his mask hanging down to his chin. He is older with gray hair, obese, and usually works the self-check lane. I have little hope that the lousy management will deal with it. I love this place, I am there literally everyday... The managers know me by name as well as the pharmicist. They are always friendly and never fail to ask any one if they need help with something. The store is always clean and I better not forget to mention that they have pretty good deals. My only complaint is the Deli department- They are sooo slow. I believe that they put all the new employees in that section out of spite because everytime I decide to get some cheese or meat i am waiting forever and the line backs up. I have seen people just leave because it would take so long and thats how you loose buisiness. I think they should not put someone so slow there but that is my opinion. Also, they have Krogers in Texas?! Originally from Michigan, now living in New York, I had no idea this chain of supermarket-dome spread this far out. Completely random. Came here a few times with my niece to pick up random things. It's huge and spacious. I'm not used to such large supermarkets with so many options and deals. They have a fine produce selection. Also, a fairly decent beer and wine selection. The only confusing thing, they had individual bottles of beer on the shelves and completely missed the 'build your own 6 pack things'. But apparently you can't just buy say 2 beers, you have to go for the whole she-bang. Which isn't bad because I had 6 beers I've never tried before for only $9.99. Thanks, Kroger! read more

Large selection of high quality produce, frequent specials on meats - steaks and chops. Good quality seafood, plenty of parking. The layout of this store confuses me. They've interleaved food and non-food aisles. The signage is confusing - when walking along the front of the store, the aisle signs only list the nearest half of the aisle; I have to peer far away to read what's on the back half-aisle. I have a visceral dislike of their rewards card system, as for most things all it does is make the item competitive with other nearby stores' prices. But being able to punch in my phone number (instead of carrying something in my wallet) appeases me some. read more

I have felt more comfortable going into Costco and HEB the past several days because they do either encourage masks (HEB) and Costco, which requires. I know there is a difference that Costco is a membership organization and both HEB and Kroger are for everyone. Seems that mostly those who don't wear masks are younger and those who wear masks are older. Masks are suggested to protect others rather than yourself. read more

Starting next year, salaried, nonunion employees who are unvaccinated and enrolled in the company's health insurance plan must pay a monthly $50 surcharge, the company spokeswoman said. I really only come here for cat food, litter and milk if I'm out. I even feel guilty about feeding my cats food from Kroger. I'm from Michigan and all we had there was a Kroger and a Whole Foods. After noticing 4 fraudulent charges from this Kroger on my account I went into the store. All charges were done within the last week. Before i was at the head of the line I politely asked a clerk to please call the store manager, then I stood in line at customer service. I brought with me printed records from my card and handed them to the clerk. She said this was too complicated for her, very understandable. I asked her to again call the store manager. Despite over 6 calls to anyone in management, neither Mr. Burns or Mr. Stocks had the decency to appear although I waited 41 minutes from r them to do so. Instead a young man named Juan told me accounting couldn't do anything because the fraud occurred more than 48 hours ago. He handed me a handwritten piece of paper with a phone number telling me it was Kroger HQ. I called the number, listened to internal inside stuff in a recording that made no sense to any customer and attempted to reach an operator. Someone did answer after 17 minutes only to tell me she had to transfer me to a different department. After 27 minutes of listening to bad music I was disconnected. In this day and age this is UNACCEPTABLE. read more

This used to be my favorite store. Then the manager was changed. Now it is getting more and more neglected. It looks messy. The floor is filthy with paper waste. I went to get buy groceries and the nice cashier at self checkout approach me to tell me about items on clearance being 90% off. She walked me to the area and I got 3 fall candles for 64 cents each! I didn't see the clearance area for fall air fresheners so I was very happy she showed me. I wish I knew her name because my receipt only says self checkout. First time I went in I bought half and half got home and it was full of chunks. Gross! Using in a recipe so all ingredients were ruined. Nice selection, and clean store, but HEB is more affordable and much friendlier. For example: I found a few boxes of expired organic soy milk, and decided to show the manager. He started arguing with me, and trying to tell me I was reading the date incorrectly. When I showed him another box as an example of how to read the date, and explained that I have been drinking this particular brand of soymilk for years, he just took the expired boxes from me without saying anything and turned his back to me. read more

This is my fave Kroger, I used to shop more HEB but since going here I rarely visit HEB now. The store is clean and staff is friendly, even the managers say HI and ask if you have found what you need. Carts (electric) are always available and charged as at HEB I found that they were never charged. The Starbucks inside is great and the staff there are friendly, Maylene, Amanda, Josh, and a few others I forget that are super friendly and right on. I often visit the deli for meats and cheeses and always get top notch service. I would like a little more variety in fruits and veggies as a few items I have not found, but when I asked the store manager he told me to get a pic or tell him what I need and he will see if he can order it. read more

Considering a mask order for Harris County had gone into effect on Monday due to rapidly increasing positive COVID19 cases, I decided to visit this Kroger location yesterday morning (Tuesday). Apparently, someone forgot to tell the management, employees, and customers about this order because there were multiple violations. I saw several employees who had their mask around their neck the whole time including the older woman who waited on me at the deli. From greeting me to preparing my order to handing it to me, that mask never left her neck. Two younger females were moving about the store filling Clicklist orders. Their masks never left their neck area, even when they passed by customers. There were multiple vendors in the store, but I only saw two with masks on. There were multiple customers with no mask let alone around their neck. When I was ready to checkout, there was only one checkout lane open with a line of people waiting. The young man who was first in line had loaded his groceries on the checkout belt but had to go to customer service to get the cashier to come and do her job. I decided to go through the self checkout. The only assistance I would need was age verification for my beer. There was an older female clerk there who did that for me, but then decided to scan all of my groceries for me. I know she was trying to be helpful, but that was more contact than if I had waited and gone through the regular checkout lane and slower. I verified with her that this location was Harris County and pointed out the violations to her. She just shook her read and said she knew and wondered why there was no employee at the door checking for masks. It starts at the top with management which is apparently poor. This will be my last visit to this Kroger location as, from top to bottom, they have little interest in providing a safe shopping environment. read more

I love this store. I wish they would expand their organic selection even more but it's still more than their other stores in the area! Love the produce workers. I asked for dinosaur kale they had once and hadn't seen since...bam! It was there and has been the next week. Great berry selection although pricey depending on availability and season. Their health section is wonderful, although they changed vendors and don't have the dry goods selection that they used to have. Left waiting for close to 5 minutes at Meat/Seafood Dept on 6/23. An employee stocking meat saw me standing there and the employee in the back never even looked up to check. There was no bell to ring so I whistled. When he finally came up to some customers that had to walk behind the counter and knock on the window, he said he doesn't respond to whistling. So we have to walk behind a counter onto a wet floor to get service!!!! I walked off and got a manager and he seemed to be more irritated with me than his neglectful employees. I applied for a stocker position in January 9th my interview had to be rescheduled four times. The first time was understandable because we had a freeze over. The second time I was told that the lady who was supposed to interview me wasn't there after waiting for an hour. My boyfriend was along and we talked to two of the store's manager to only find out that we we're sent to the wrong one and I was supposed to go to the one in League city. Nobody told me that the interviewer had transferred to that one before hand. My boyfriend was very upset when he said they told him the they weren't hiring. Yet on January 16th I had a phone interview with one of the store representatives. I showed both the managers the email I was given and they were shocked because I had the Friendswood address to go to and not the one in League City. After that my bf drove us to the Kroger in League City. We talked to the store manager there and he called up the interviewer that had transferred there and she could not schedule an interview at that time. So he had her reschedule it for me. And I couldn't work at the one in League city since it's too far from my house. Anyways the next two times I showed at this Kroger it was another show. I was told by a manager that the interviewer had "an emergency" and had to be in the ER and was told next time to call before I come and to ask for another reschedule. I gave up. This place is not reliable at ALL. And left me feeling stupid. I never had a company to this to me. It was humiliating and having my boyfriend waist his has trying to help me. read more

This Kroger was remodeled in 2010 and now has a small "natural foods" section and bulk bins for a few things which is nice. They also carry a few specialty and ethnic foods that I haven't seen anywhere else around here. Produce is usually pretty good, but way overpriced. The rest of their prices can be randomly higher or lower than at other places, but using the club card can save quite a bit (and can save with gas). read more

Amazing what speaking English can do for people or the lack there of at this location. Trying to use the self check out with less than 10 items to get in and out as quickly as possible with a child that has a runny nose and Miss Maria (probably her name) stops me as I am finishing my transaction to tell me I forgot an item in my basket, apparently bringing tissues in for the child is an issue here, I guess she thought that I would open a brand new package before paying like I am some sort of backwoods redneck. The only reason I shop here is because it is close to my home and there are fuel rewards, which by the way had a sign up for 2X points which is only good on the weekends and should not be up on a Tuesday... STOP being lazy Krogers employees. I hope anyone who reads this should know the HEB in friendswood is much cleaner and has English speaking associates. Also they would never accuse you of attempting to walk out with a half empty box of kleenex. read more
