Membership is currently $99 a month for a household (up to 50% off w/ scholarships) this is a steal and we took advantage of the discount, versus paying the INSANE costs to swim each time. My oldest has also attended summer day camp and loves it! I will say the front desk team is usually younger kids, who sometimes have an attitude lol but it's usually ok. read more

We love the Kroc Center. They have consistently been a positive impact in our daughter's life when she attends their day camps and summer camps. The counselors are the most wonderful, fun, kind young adults who really make a huge difference in kids lives. As a healthcare worker, the Kroc has been immensely helpful in providing a fun place for our daughter to go while we are at work. Especially on the days where schools and businesses are closed, but the hospitals are still open so we have to work. The Kroc center has been there to take the kids for day camp. We are grateful. I was invited to join for the Anniversary Luncheon 2025. The event was beautiful, Chef Gregg did an amazing job on the food and the students that served were very educated on serving over 100 guests extremely efficiently. After enduring years of Covid restrictions, my teen insisted on a birthday party with friends. Because Mother Nature has a mind of her own in April, I decided to seek out indoor venue options to be on the safe side. Outside of a trampoline spot, indoor pizza & mini golf, and a roller rink, the options seemed to be pretty slim for Spring party, that is until I found the Kroc Center. The Kroc Center is a family membership club run by The Salvation Army. It offers a wide variety of activities and party packages for single visits. A representative responded to my inquiry pretty quickly and sent over party package options. I asked to tour the Center to help make my decision, and was pretty impressed by all they had to offer. They have a full size gym with basketball and volleyball courts, an olympic size pool, a lazy river, workout facilities with lockers and showers, a lazy river with splash pads and slide, a climbing wall, and game rooms with board games and video game console, and two 'party' areas to choose from. Our package came with an hour in the party room complete with table covers and balloons (our choice of colors), pizza and 2 pitchers of drinks, and wristbands for full use of the facility for 10. I'd planned to bring a cake and veggie / fruit trays and finger foods, but all food must be purchased by their kitchen. We did bring a background hanging for photo ops, and had the room set up for the kids to paint their own mushrooms and mini canvases, fun party favors to that dried easily as a memento. The staff was helpful and attentive. Overall, everyone had a great time, but wouldn't you know - the weather turned out to be absolutely epic outside! read more

I love coming here for a workout and a swim. It's not overly busy and there is just enough of a variety of workout machines and free weights to get a good workout in. I suppose the only downfall is is the young kids that seem to gather around the free weight area and just take up space looking at there phones. I know there is a lot more to the Kroc center. But for me all I need is the gym and pool. read more

Good price but crowded leisure pool. There are a lot of kid activities but if you are joining primary for the leisure pool make sure the odd, restrictive hours work for your family. Love the pool but question if it is worth it. Also, poor staff planning to conduct training in the slide pool in the hour before it would be closed for adult swim when the leisure hours are so restrictive to begin with. read more

The Kroc center used to allow parents to go in and watch your kids swim for free. Now they have made a restriction that any adult has to pay to enter, even if they're not swimming. Taking every single cent they can from every person who enters the door does not seem very kind, community minded, or Christian to me. read more

From a woman on Next Door (Salem) The Kroc centre how disappointing and over priced we went to take our daughter swimming yesterday and they charged me $28 for my daughter and husband to swim, they wanted to charge me to WATCH them swim if I stepped off the carpet, I ended up dropping them off and picking them up an hour later, how is this the Samaritans helping the neighbourhood for $28 for a child and adult to swim, needless to say I will never return there again and I can't believe how much they are ripping people off to make. Great recreational facility for the community. I have been a long term member for about ten years. The fitness classes are taught by knowledgeable instructors & are rarely cancelled. Although, the day pass is expensive, it does encompass all areas of the facility. These areas include the game room, rock wall, swimming pool, chapel, & workout gym. The scholarships are for low-income or those experiencing financial hardship. read more

Gregg Peterson and his crew do an awesome job of catering for group events at the Kroc center. 2 thumbs way up from a bunch of ladies who love food and fun. The food was great. Schedule and staff say pools are always open, yet we're turned away every time we come to swim. Several months ago I asked to suspend my membership due to having broken my foot, by emailing olivia.aultman@usw.salvationarmy.org, but my request was ignored. I now call to try to cancel and ask if anything can be done about the fact that my suspension request was ignored, and the "staff" just ignore my questions and repeat that I would have to come in to cancel my membership. By the way, cancellations can be done in the My Account Section online. Horrible service, would never recommend. read more

I am so happy I joined the Kroc center! I am in a wheelchair because of Polio. The different water aerobics class levels are outstanding. Anyone can do as much or as little as they want. I have only used the leisure pool, the lazy river, and the wonderful hot tub spa. It is exactly what I needed to be able to do low impact exercising! read more

It's good for a family day at the pool, provided you make a reservation. If you are going to exercise think twice, they do have good equipment as long as you want to use the machines. The free weights are of a good quality but there is little floor space, so no personal space. The young "bro" crowd ostensibly takes over the downstairs free weights. The upstairs is hit or miss because that is the only place with floor space for body weight exercises. I will say that the "bros" aren't as big a problem while school is in session. But not by much. The changing rooms are perpetually wet and have no place to put a bag down that is not already wet. read more

3 minutes agoNEW I won't ever come back here again and plan to cancel my membership. The place is great, but the workers are just atrocious with how they talk to children. We came in tonight because my daughters friend invited her to swim. Apparently she didn't make a reservation for my daughter and I've never been asked if we have one when we go in there. The worker behind the counter was super rude and showed absolutely no empathy in telling my daughter about what was going on. So I've got a crying 12 year old and the worker didn't care at all. This place has gone down hill since all they hire is snotty teenagers. This isn't the first time this has happened to my kids, but the first time I have witnessed it. Just broke my heart seeing my daughter treated that way. This place needs new management or someone who knows how to train in customer service/empathy, especially with kids. read more

Great place to spend an afternoon with the family. Very clean, nice facility. My kids especially enjoyed the water area slide and diving board. Rock climbing too. Also, very nice basketball courts! Definitely recommend to check this place out! read more

The building itself is phenomenal--especially the pool which features a lazy river and large water slide. The facility and its equipment is new and top notch. However, many of the staff members were rude, you can't take your baby in the locker room with you if it is not the same gender as you, and there is no warm pool for infants and toddlers. In fact there is really nothing for kids under 3 to do there since the playground outside is off limits except to the preschool and the game room doesn't offer toys for younger kids. There is a child watch center, but it wasn't well staffed and costs extra. read more

While I've had a few roll my eyes experiences, overall we love the Kroc center. My kids enjoy child watch (which doesn't cost extra 1 star Clara...) and the staff at child watch is awesome. I wish they had more child watch hours. And margaritas. read more

This place used to be great but it's gone way downhill. Staff are either snotty punks or just plain useless. Lifeguards harass you and make up BS rules. Very limited hours. Less and less programs. I'm surprised there are any members left. We cancelled. read more

I saw only one (one star) review and figured I better add the opposite opinion: the Kroc Center is an essential community resource. We use it for their very diverse summer camp experiences week to week (exceptional program and counselors). The other review was not accurate to my experience: there are several pool areas for various ages, a great waterslide, a deep end / diving board area, and competition pool plus water volleyball, even an outdoor spray area. There is a 'warm water' beach for the youngest kids. I have never had a problem with boys and girls accompanying me. They have private family changing rooms and shower area (brilliant design actually) around the perimeter of the central locker room, and a private locker room for men and women separately. There are numerous classes for fitness, a rock climbing wall, and the place is always WELL staffed in my opinion. We've done many other summer camp programs around town. This one is a lot of fun, both from counselor and activity points of view. It inspires my kid to be a camp counselor when she gets older. read more

Our family loves the Kroc Center. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is extremely clean. There are so many different things for the whole family to do. Lots of great, clean gym equipment, two huge pools, rock wall, art room, game room, library, etc. Tons of fun. read more

We have been members of the Kroc Center for 4 years. It has many activities that you can do with all of your kids. The pool area is great for kids, they have a swallow area for babies and a lazy river. The only thing I can think of is they need to work on the consistency of the hours of the pool. We have been kicked out several times of the Big pool say at 4:30 when the signs say it closes at 5 for practices. I found the membership prices to be very reasonable compared to other gyms and you get a lot more than the Courthouse and 24. The daycare is included in your membership price it doesn't cost extra. read more

If you are thinking about putting your child in the afterschool program at the Kroc Center I would advise you to choose not to! The staff members yell at children and do not address parents' concerns for keeping your child safe. When you address the staff members that yell at your child, their solution is to kick them out of the program! What a terrible organization! read more
