We stayed here for 9 nights as a home base to explore the UP. It's the first campground we've stayed at this is formatted in a circle it actually works very well! They have ALOT of options , full hookups 30/50 amp, sites with electric and water, electric only and primitive tent sites. Most people are clustered up in the full hookups though. This campground is about 6 miles from town- so easy access for groceries etc. You are a few likes from Mi Dog- do not miss this sled dog summer camp- and do them a huge favor and go play with the puppies to help them socialize. Also go to Osborns Bear rescue to Support their efforts. You are not too far from Tahquamenon falls too- and keep going another 20 miles to Whitefish point. The owner, Brice, really did a nice job- we made a later reservation, needed 9 days; and there wasn't anything available consecutively - so he figured out a plan and it worked great. Kritters Campground is super clean, from the bathrooms, the campsites, to the playground. They're super nice in the office as well! Very nice place to stay. In a very quiet area as well, but not too far from a small town. 10/10 would recommend. read more

This is our fourth year, eighth visit to Kritters, can honestly say, there is no better campground. The owners, Vickie and Brice, are gracious and kind and go out of their way to be certain you have a wonderful, memorable vacay with them. We typically bring our camper, but this year we rented the cottage as we brought our son and his family. The cottage has a full kitchen with all the amenities, a full bathroom, a room with bunkbeds, a room with a queen and a couch that folds out to a full size bed. A nice dining table, several recliners, a deck, propane grill and fire ring. Campers and primitive sites have use of a full and very nice/clean shower house/restrooms and a full laundry facility. They have an awesome gift shop and an entertainment pavilion with a library, large screen TV, some arcade games. Nice playground, loads of activities for kiddos. Kritters is centrally located too so many must see attractions. Kitch-It-Kippi, Tahquanmenon Falls, Seney Nature Preserve and of course Pictured Rocks. The campground was less than 1/4 occupied, but they clustered everyone together. We had no input. Also, no lock on women's shower...anyone can stroll in. The WORST was the mosquitos! Unbearable. We literally could not be outside the entire day. And every time we opened our camper door, 50 would come inside. This campground obvious does nothing to mitigate the mosquitoes. read more

We have been coming to this campground for five years now and it's become a favorite place of ours. When we heard it had been sold to new owners we were skeptical but it's only gotten better! The restrooms and showers are super clean, the sites are well taken care of and spaced nicely and the owners couldn't be more welcoming. They ruined all other campgrounds for me. This was our second ever campground/rv park... they set the bar very high. We haven't been able to find another that compares. The service was FANTASTIC. The owners tour the grounds asking residents if they need more wood, etc. the bathrooms and showers are clean. The layout was very nice. No spots are far from any amenities. Now, every park we stay at is compared to this one. read more

Rustic tent campsites are well spaced apart with trees between them, and are far enough away from the RVs that you don't get a ton of noise. Bathrooms and showers were very clean (they cleaned them multiple times per day I think). Firewood for $5 and ice for $2. The owners were also very nice and helpful with answering questions about the area. They do have WiFi but it didn't seem to reach the rustic tent sites we were in, and Verizon coverage is pretty slow, so plan on a walk over to the office for downloading maps or download them before your trip. Definitely not a negative if you're trying to put the phones down and disconnect during your stay! Better experience than I've had at many state campgrounds, I would definitely recommend and would stay here again. From check-in, to directions to attractions, to phenomenal cleanliness of facilities this campground was great. I especially loved the layout because with our five kids, we could go anywhere in the property and still see our kids playing at the playground! The sites we not right on top of each other and had ample space. They had trails that you could walk and it wasn't noisy. We had to go grab some groceries and that wasn't very far away either. All around great place to stay and great cost. read more

We are very lucky we found this place with a couple open sites day ahead with everything else in the area booked up for months out. The bathrooms were the cleanest we've seen in a campground on a very long time. Sites are little close together but it was just a A quick stop over. Everyone was very friendly in the price was amazing for the area. We were super impressed with how much fire what they give you for just a few dollars! We would very likely stop here again if we come through this way again. read more

Okay, this place is amazing! I have never seen a more organized or clean campsite, and the owners are just the most kind, caring people. I would absolutely come back here every year, just to make sure they get business, and to enjoy myself. I have been enjoying myself here IMMENSELY! They were even extremely accommodating to me and my husband, who drove here in a Tesla. They made sure we had somewhere to charge the entire time we were here :) I will forever recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know! read more

Pulled in with my 30' fifth wheel. Greeted by a very nice gal and her lil daughter/assistant. Very nice people, the sites were grass and very large with full hook-ups. This is a wonderful campground. The facilities are spotless and the grounds are well groomed. PPlaygrounds for the kids, cabins to rent, laundry facility - and the setting is beautiful. We were vivisiting Tahquamenon Falls and it's a quick 15-minute drive from the park. This is THE place to stay in the UP if you want to do daytrips to Soo Locks or Pictured Rocks.. Can't recommend it highly enough!! This is a little GEM. read more

We were supposed to only stay one night, but decided to stay two nights after we saw the park. It was great. The trees were awesome and the sites were spaced well, with plenty of room. The staff were great. We bought firewood and they not only delivered, but setup the fire starters and everything! Great people and service. I camped here from August 21st - 24th and had a great time! This was actually my second time here - the first being for about a week in summer 2013. The first visit we were in a full hook up space, but decided to use the tent this weekend. Both were great experiences. The owners are super friendly! They will chat with you in the office or greet you if they see you around the park. Other reviewers on other websites complain about the rules that they have. Yes, they do have rules. Personally, I like them and they don't interfere with my stay at all! They are in place to help maintain a clean, beautiful campground and to make the stay good for all campers! Don't make a fire outside of the pit, don't ruin the trees or grass, keep you pets under control, and don't block the driveways. Easy enough, right? Facilities are clean! I love when campgrounds have clean bathrooms/ showers :) There is also a place to do laundry which is nice. Sites are pull-thru and large enough for all sizes of campers/ RVs. Each site has its own fire ring and picnic table. They are grassy which I much prefer over gravel or cement! There are large shade trees. Sites are a good size so you have plenty of room to enjoy your time without being right up next to your neighbors. They offer wireless internet. They sell firewood and ice and the price for each was very reasonable. Nightly rates are great. There is a playground for kids. Pets are welcome! (We have a large (90lb) dog who loves to camp!) This campground is also located an hour or less from lots of stuff to do! How nice! We went to see Oswald's Bears, horseback riding, kayaking along Pictured Rocks, visited Muskallonge State Park, had pizza in town, went to Tahquamenon Falls, and more! All within an hours drive (most of them much less than an hour)! We can't wait to come back next summer!!! read more

The gentleman who runs this park is very nice and considerate and keeps a rather clean campground. He was very helpful when requesting information. However, what I assume to be his wife would harass us during our stay, the few times we talked she would just having a condescending tone. Unsure if this was because of my race or not, the reason for her resentment was not clear. It finally boiled up when we were packing our things. She began cursing at us saying while saying we "left water on the floor" by the mop sink (which we didn't). She was one of the most belligerent people i've ever encountered. Won't recommend this place, would rather sleep with the bears down the road. read more

On our way home from an amazing 6 night stay here! We enjoyed nearly every second of our time (except for the times we were being eaten alive but that's our bad for not preparing correctly) and are so happy we chose to spend our trip here. Everything was very clean and well maintained. They had some of the cleanest bathrooms we've experienced at a campground. Larry and Kathy were amazing and very helpful. Larry even stopped by our site one night to check in on us and gave us some awesome sight seeing suggestions.
