If you want someplace to come to disconnect and breathe, this is the perfect place. The owners, Jim and Carol (and Jack the dog!) know how to run a business. They were both so friendly and made our stay that much better with our conversations with them (they were also the bartenders at night). The place is immaculate. Our room (room #1) was so comfy we didn't want to leave and dreamed about going to sleep every night because the bed was so comfy. The decor was simple but beautiful. It felt like everything they picked was perfect for the space. Outside had rocking chairs on the front porch to sit and watch the sunsets over the lake. There were kayaks and a boat to use that I was sad we didn't have time to do but loved that they were there. They had a fire pit and wood for you to make a fire whenever you wanted. They don't have a kitchen but they did have breads/muffins and yogurt for breakfast and the option of buying charcuterie boards. The bar they had is great! As with the rest of the place, it's cozy and intimate. They have a game cabinet you can peruse and pick from. The cocktails are amazing (best last word and sazerac we've had in a long time and strong; they don't skimp on the ingredients). Overall, I would 100% stay here again. Loved everything.

It's now been 5-6 weeks and have not heard a word - I wanted a room in October - of course, I stayed elsewhere. I guess they actually have horrible service and don't care about potential customers and what this customer could have brought them. Very inconsiderate. Would not recommend at all!

They are 100% committed to making your visit as enjoyable as it can be. The resort sits on a fairly large lake, 1 mile south of Lake Superior...the lake was originally used as a Lumber Holding\Sorting area. The proximity to both does not just offer some fantastic fishing, but keeps the temperature relatively tame.. Mid July we were roughly in the low 70s, a couple of days in the low 80s and a few nights in the 40s... so don't worry bout the absence of AC in the cabins... Not really Needed. However light pants and long sleeve shirt may be a life saver when the black flies are about. They can be relentless in the north-woods There are 6 cabins, 2 x 2 Unit Duplexes and 2 stand alones? The wife and I stayed in a duplex laid out as an efficiency unit . Again no AC but a small fan was supplied with screened windows offering a great cross-breeze. We had a double bed plus a double futon as a couch..bedding pillows and some warm blankets were provided. Hot water was ample, crisp great tasting well water.. Bathroom had a shower and toilet...powerful plumbing with clean towels!. The kitchen had a small 2 seat dinette as shown in the photos. Propane range\oven with a small set of pans and cooking utensils. We had a toaster, efficiency refrigerator w/freezer and Weber grill outside. Servings for 4. The place was immaculate.. bring paper towels and TP There's 150\200' of nice beach, an area for a communal bonfire..fish cleaning hut and a rowboat is provided with the cabin. Motorboats when available are 50$ a day but you can bring your own. This was a deal at a great price. Gather your necessities at the IGA in Newberry on the way in because once you're here ya don't want leave. Ask mike about where the berries are when they're in season. Beds are a little firm, and I like a firm mattress... No a/c, but that is not necessary at this time of the year. I believe the proximity to Lake Superior will help the temperatures stay low, too. Water pressure needs a little help, though. The quality of the water is pretty horrible - can't even use it to brush my teeth. If I were you, I would have bottled water with you! But, the location is nice: near Whitefish Point and Tahquamenon Falls. Not much around for dining, though, unless you drive to Sault Ste. Marie or Newberry. (not the fault of the motel, of course.)
