Hmmmm, well I am not as happy as others that have visited this nail salon. I did love the overall cleanliness of the place, the fact that everyone was wearing white smocks and that they used new equipment on me...that's surely a "plus". Now the CONS - blah pedicure, nail tech was not experienced, sucky paint job and lastly, the owner shouted across the entire salon that I tipped the nail tech $ 5.00...geez... I have been going to Kristie's for several years now and quite happy with their service. I tried them because they were KCRAs A list winner in 2013- I live close and wasn't happy with another place I was going and glad I tried them! I have been here many times. I love it. Hannah has always done my nails, and she always listens to what I want, takes her time, but is also very thorough. Kristy is so nice, Hannah too. So funny and sweet. I brought my 2 year old in with me, and they had no problem and even helped to take care of him/entertained. They also have pedicure chairs for children, which as a mother of 3 I think is the greatest. They are neat, clean, and sterile. Kristy's Nails has become my favorite nail salon. It was the most relaxing experience I've had while getting my nails done. The music is pleasant, calming; decor is lovely. Even with that, I saw them scrubbing the bowl immaculately after the ladies next to me left. Steady business and voted Best of Sacramento like the last 4 years in a row. I love this place for pedicures, but nails not so much. The lady that did my nails was nice, but my thumb nails were shorter than the rest of my nails and I asked for coffin shape and got square instead. I also got chrome polish and it was lumpy and there were spots missing. She also put fiber glass on top of my already acrylic nails and my fingers started hurting pretty bad after a week so I had to take them off and have them redone by my regular nail place. Like I said pedicures are awesome, but won't go for nails again. read more

My sister has been to Kristy's a few times before and never had a problem. Today she came in for a mani pedi and they were a little busy. When her pedi was done this older man started to do her acrylics and whenever she would say something to him about the nails he would just "mhmm" and not fix what she had asked. it seemed as though he did not understand english. in the end her nails were bulky and not drying. She went to Kristy and told her she was not satisfied and she didn't like them. Kristy glanced at them and said they looked fine. Again my sister told her she didn't like them and wanted them to be redone. Kristy said they were busy and my sister said she would wait no problem. she went to pay for her pedi but not mani. kristy then pulled her hand down and cut off her acrylics very fast and said if she didn't want to pay for them she couldnt have them!! Why do you allow people to make appointments if you don't plan for them? My friend's daughter wanted a to get her nails done with my daughter for her birthday. They're seven and this place advertised that they do kids' nails, so reservations were made for 1 kids pedi, 1 kid's mani, and two adult pedis for us moms. We showed up on time and every employee was with a customer and there was one lady waiting. I looked around and did the math and realized that even if every employee was available, there were not enough of them to work on us all at the same time. After a 20 minute wait with two excited and antsy kids, we were seated. The kids' chairs were around the corner - with no adult chairs beside them! My butt was in my pedi chair for 5 minutes before I could hear that the kids needed me. So I had to forgo my pedi to sit with the kids... but why would they isolate them in the first place? Don't most (dare I say all?) children come in with a parent that they would like to sit with? I went to get a polish for one of the kids and bumped the rack and knocked one off - oops! - and it shattered on the floor. I appologized profusely but was ignored. A lady came from the back, handed me a roll of paper towels, and walked off without a word. So I got on my hands and knees, in a skirt, and tried to wipe up the polish. I have worked in customer service and retail jobs for years and NEVER would I expect a customer to clean up a spill. I essentially was just smearing the polish around and finally gave up and threw away my wad of paper towels and just sat down. The kids' nails were cute and they gave them each a balloon. My friend's pedi was on par. However, I can't stand that they ignored our reservation and allowed what was supposed to be a relaxing time for me turn into cleaning the floor on my hands and knees. read more

I just went to this nail salon over the weekend and made an appointment based on the yelp ratings. Overall, a nice shop. It's a little out of the way for me, but clean, nice decor, nice and comfortable pedicure chairs. The layout is a bit tight. You might be sitting arm to arm with another person while getting a pedicure. That was a bit too close for me, but not a deal breaker. The pedicure was fantastic and they really take their time ensuring your feet are nice and soft and refreshed from the wonderful massage. I got a pink/white fill and overall they look good. The bad and not so good points about this place: I made an appointment for 12pm and when I arrived it was very apparent they didn't write my name down anywhere in an appt book. They asked me to wait and pick my color. I didn't have a good feeling, but I can be pretty picky, so thought what the heck. I have no plans today, so I can wait a bit. They didn't get me in the pedicure chair until 12:40. While sitting there, I waited another 30 minutes. I was going to leave, but by then figured I'd wait to see if they were any good. The lady who did my pedi was very nice, but kept getting distracted and answered phones, making appts (with no appt book), kept getting up and down. It was very irritating. She apologized, which I appreciated and I saw they seemed pretty busy. BUT, I made an appointment.. One lady came in and seemed to have an appt and waited for 30 minutes without anyone saying anything to her with the exception of when she arrived and so she walked out. I noticed that they don't write down appointments when people called or walked in. They just said, "we're busy now, can you come back in 1 hour". They need to honor peoples' time and commit to an appt and actually schedule it in their appt book. This was crazy. People kept leaving and coming back in an 1 hour and then ended up waiting. I was there from 12-3:30pm. It was absolutely ridiculous. If the lady didn't answer calls and kept getting up/down, my pedi probably would have been from 12-1:15 is what I'm guessing. I should have been out of their by 2pm once I got my fill. I can't stand waiting that long. I'm shocked I didn't walk out. I wanted to relax and treat myself and didn't want to get my highblood pressure going. This was suppose to be a relaxing time for me. My fill is "meh". I like the shape of my nails, but I have rough areas on both of my thumbs. I'm not sure if it was the gel application, but the lady who did my nails felt them and said, "it's ok". I was ready to go at that point and time so didn't want to wait any longer. The rough areas were bothering me so much. It was like the gel peaked in some areas; so when it hardened under the lamp, it was kind of pointy, rough, rocky feeling. I ended up filing and buffing it down when I got home. It dulled the shine, but at least it's more even. "it's ok" my ass, it now makes me mad thinking about it. I was charged almost $70 for a really bad day and experience. I gave a $10 tip on top of that. I'm so dang goofy sometimes. But again, trying to not get overworked. During the time I was there this women had come in twice to get her nails done. When she returned as they asked her too, she waiting a good 40 minutes if not longer. She was in a leg cast, so couldn't move too much. She seemed irritated, but I wasn't sure why until her significant other came in the shop. They began arguing in front of all of us. It was ridiculous. I kept giving them the evil eye and almost shouted out, "shut the f up", but again, trying to keep calm because I've been experiencing so much pain in my chest the past week or so. The man left, then came back about 20 minutes later and they started up again. People are truly stupid - why certain behaviors still surprise me I will never know. The nail technicians didn't do anything about it. They were all quiet, but you could tell they didn't appreciate these two making a bit of a scene in the shop. This was not the nail technicians fault, but if this is their business, they need to learn how to ensure their other clients are well-taken care of and request for this type of behavior to be dismissed from their shop. I know English is their second language and culturally, it is probably unlike them to speak up like that, but they have to be mindful of their customers who are there to relax. One of the worst experiences I've had getting my nails done. I could have ended my pain much earlier by walking out, but chose to be considerate and calm. I know better next time. :-) read more

I had a great manicure and pedicure today at Kristie's Nails. My cuticles were trimmed to perfection and the massages were absolutely divine. Rose was my pedicure technician and we enjoyed some small talk about hair removal. Kristie handled the manicure. Let me tell you I have never had a better hand massage. It was heavenly. I was pretty hungry by the time the services were finished so I didn't wait the necessary time before I bolted for Subway a few doors down. Yeah, I smudged two of my fingers. The pedicure by the young woman was great BUT this was the worst manicure I've ever had!!!! It was an older man who did my gel manicure while I had the pedicure. He cut my cuticle and made it bleed. He did not soak my nails. The polish job was awful. He did the manicure while I was in the pedicure chair. This was very uncomfortable since he was on my right side and I had to extend my left arm over to the right side. He kept yanking it over since my arms were not long enough to reach him. He was very rough all together. The massage was painful and I like hard massages. Making my cuticle bleed was a deal breaker for me. read more

Kristy's is by far the best salon in Sacramento, and it's in Carmichael! I've been to many salons in Sacramento, Carmichael, Roseville, and Citrus Heights. Kristy and her ladies always do an amazing job. You get more than what you pay for. I normally get a basic pedicure (time restrictions) but I get the spa when I have some more time. Even the basic pedicure is about an hour long. I have gotten a manicure once and it was really good. I received many compliments on my nails. Appointments can be set up. I've been fortunate enough to not have waited more than 15 minutes when I walk it. BEST SALON! read more

I went there a few months ago wanting a pedicure, asked if they sanitized their tools. The owner was so offended by the question she threw me out of the salon and forbid the girl who was going to help me from helping. It's so unfortunate she has such nasty attitude towards someone concerned for their health. People have no idea how easy it it to catch not only fungus but hepatitis and HIV from nail salons that don't sanitize their tools. I came here to have my acrylic tips removed and to have a gel manicure. I'm used to having the tips wrapped in foil or soaked to soften them up, but the manicurist used a tip from her box and her own fingernails to rip them off. It was very painful and my nails were destroyed. My gel manicure has bubbles in it and she didn't add enough layers to maintain uniform color (you can see some of my actual nail underneath). The tips of my nails are not straight, and there is color on the surrounding skin. For 30$, I expected much more. read more

I just returned from a pedicure and manicure at this business and my experience was less than satisfying. My pedicure was just fine and enjoyable, but my manicure was the worst I've had. I could do a better job at home with my $3 paints. The paint job did not cover my whole nail, was sloppy and pooling, and the first coat was not allowed to dry so the paint became gloppy when the woman tried to add more layers. I asked her to redo them and the same thing happened the second time. The store was busy so she sent me out before my nails were dry and they look just awful. I'm sorry to have to write a bad review, but I've wasted my money, I have to remove the paint on my hands. read more

I went for the first time and had a wonderful spa treatment but when I went to get a fill I found the 2 ladies doing nails were both there less than 1 week and the one kept asking my lady to get her supplies the whole time. I was there for 3 hours! Prices are not posted and I thought I was getting a fill with gel nail polish but I was given gel powder and polish which was $19 on top of $20. Love my nails but not the price when I could have gotten just polish for $5 on top of $20 fill. I was given a $4 discount. Update: again took my 81 yr old Mom in, took over 90 mins for a fill- every single one of my moms fingers were raw and bleeding by the time she was done. (Many nail fills other places that NEVER happened) employee stated my moms skin was too thin. Um, no. Employee was terribly rude and refused to do what was requested (cut them shorter) she over charged by $13, stating that the menu prices I pointed out were incorrect. Disgusted. Will never ever be back here. I brought my 79 year old mom here for her nails to get done and we were both impressed. We had an appointment and as soon as we walked in, an employee said my name and pointed us to chairs. First visit and they already knew who I was. No wait whatsoever. The staff was very accommodating for my mom's walker and getting her comfortable for her nail set. I had a pedicure by a male (cannot remember his name) and it was excellent. I can't say the prices are super cheap, but it's a good place that I will continue to take my mom. Shop is nice, clean, well decorated, well stocked with a great selection of polishes to choose from. Went in today made an apt in advance because they were three of us. Got seated and attended to right away. Very accommodating I wanted gel polish on my toes as well(I'm going to vegas and want them to last) a little extra but did them very nicely and the special pedi is amazing! I almost dozed off in the chair. Ming did my full set with gel polish suggest a chrome finish on my ring finger which I'm in love with! Took a little longer than expected and would have love if they could have done both at the same time but really just an amazing experience as usual it's my third time here and I refuse to go anywhere else.
