When she took my X-rays she would rush to take the bite stick out of my mouth as she could tell it wasn't comfortable, cleaned my teeth very well and did a great job around the permanent retainer I have on my lower teeth-last dentist office scraped the glue off and I had to have it replaced. I will request Jessica as my hygienist the next time I visit. When I met Dr. Sutton, he was very friendly and nice. Listened to all my questions about dental work and really explained well what was going on with my oral health. I would highly recommend this office. They didn't push products or procedures on me and seemed as if they genuinely cared about keeping my mouth healthy! This office also accepted my MetLife insurance.

It all started out fine, and after a long appointment I was back out enjoying life, with some fresh fillings. About a day later one of them popped out. I wasn't for sure that was what happened as I'd only ever had one other cavity filled before, but by the time I made my way back in they confirmed that was indeed what had happened. I was assured that this can happen, and that although it's somewhat rare, it's not unheard of. I would have still given Keith five stars at this point, but the same cavity was filled and fell out two more times. By my fourth visit to take a look at the same cavity I requested a new dentist, which they accommodated, and frankly had a much better experience. We are a few months out and so far the filling has stayed in place. The hardest thing for me about this whole experience was that I had no pain going in to getting the cavity filled and it took me months, through Thanksgiving and Christmas, to get this resolved. During that time, it was on and off again painful to chew. What's hard for me with this update is that I really loved the folks that worked on my mouth each time I went in. I really mean that. From the dentist to the assistant, to the staff, everyone here is really great and does their best. I have no doubt they were doing the best they could, it's totally possible that this was a kind of fluke thing that happened. Will I keep going here? Yes. The bottom line is this is still the best dentist I've been to and I'm hopeful this was a kind of one off and that it'll be smooth sailing here on out.

Also, the office "policy" is to get your credit or debit card number on file before your treatment. If you object to their keeping it, you don't get a treatment. I called to request that my card number be erased from my file and was told I wouldn't be treated in the future; so I told the office to go ahead and remove it. I find this insistence on having your card number on file a demonstration that clients are not trusted, which makes me wonder how trustworthy this practice is.

Our…read moredentist visit today was legitimately life changing for my 5-year-old daughter and I; I shed multiple proud mom tears while we were there. We have been to several other dental offices and have had a "failed visit" every time because she was so scared and wouldn't let them touch her. Typically, hygienists and dentists are at a loss at how to encourage her and some of them have even tried things like forcing her head to stay still, which only increased her fear and made me immediately lose trust in them. Phye was COMPLETELY different and I am so beyond grateful. My exam and cleaning was before my daughter's and my hygienist, Brittany (who was incredibly friendly and helpful), was explaining to my daughter everything she was doing and let her watch closely inside my mouth so she could understand what would happen on her turn. When it was my daughter's turn, her hygienist (Danielle, who I will appreciate forever and ever) took ten whole minutes before she ever asked my daughter to sit in the chair and built so much trust with her. She showed her all of her tools that she'd be using and let her choose a flavor for her fluoride and let her touch and smell the fluoride and let her spray the little water squirter so she could see how fun it is and let her ask questions and overall made friends with her! She was still a little nervous when she sat in the chair, but Danielle made sure to let her touch each tool again before putting it in her mouth and explained what she would do and demonstrated on my daughter's hand so she could feel it and understand. We have never even gotten as far as sitting in the chair before, but today my daughter had a full exam and teeth cleaning and she even let go of my hand to be brave on her own TWICE! This helped the proud mom tears along pretty well lol. I cannot say thank you enough to Brittany, Danielle, and the whole staff at Phye. I was sure that we would dread every dentist appointment until my daughter's teenage years, but when the exam was finished today, my daughter said, "I think we should come to this dentist every time so I can be brave." And I couldn't agree more!

The dental hygenists are professional, courteous, and know exactly what they are doing. When they finish their cleaning, Dr. Bowles comes in, and actually spends time with you to explain concerns and gets to know you and your life. I hunted a practice like this down since I moved to Overland Park a few years ago, and I won't go anywhere else. I have recommended them to many friends and several have gone here! I was getting a filling and she had a drill in her hand and made a cut under my tongue and completely dismissed it with no apology. I was bleeding and sore for days. Second, I had to go back in (take off more work) because she didn't file my tooth down correctly so my bite was uneven for days. Third, she didn't fill in my filling all the way so now there is a discolored hole on my tooth. It is extremely hard to floss where there was a filling done. The dentist is extremely anxiety inducing for me and this experience was horrible. I have had months to sit on this experience and I still feel the same exact way as when it first happened.

I was immediately impressed with Dr. Herre's knowledge of TMJ. He also teaches other dentist how to treat this condition so I would consider him an expert. Dr. Herre made me a bite splint and at first, I will be honest, the expense was really hard to swallow. However, when you consider that the hour long follow up visits (all included) for weeks and weeks afterwards, it really makes the cost more understandable. Anyway, I have had my bite splint for 5 weeks now and the proof is in the pudding. I went from someone who spent probably 10 days a month in bed with migraines to being nearly headache free. Before I also had other symptoms like not being able to chew foods, ear pain, facial pain and all of it has disappeared. My husband is thrilled that I'm not tired all the time anymore. I cannot say how pleased I am with the results so far.

Their staff is obviously loyal for a reason. They are a great bunch of people. My entire family sees the Herre's. Over the years I have gotten sealants, fillings and broken teeth removed on top of my regular visits and I have always felt at ease. I am never intimidated and as Dr. Scott will tell you, I never cried! It's a nice treat to go to what is usually a dreaded experience and actually sort of enjoy myself and feel cared for.

Had to drive down to the office for her file to show them she noted this allergy, then they wouldn't even have the dentist come out to talk about what happened after I waited 1 1/2 hours. After all that, they tried to only give me half her file. Would not recommend in the least. Worst dental experience ever.
