I am so impressed…read more We were both worried about using a dog trainer and letting them take the dog for over a week after the experience we had in 2012 with Marg the dog trainer. Tip Too K9 had the dog for little over a week. He is part hound so he is stubborn to say the least. He came home better but did not want to really listen. The trainer came back out to their house the next week and worked with him again and worked with my daughter and her husband. Again he did better but not quit well and constant. The trainer came back out and took the dog back to keep and train more for over a week again. All this was included in the original cost. Yes the original cost was not cheap but is is well worth it because they keep working with them. Not tacking on more charges. They help you get true results. They brought the dog back home today and the trainer worked at the house with the dog and my daughter for over an hour. Want quality training, people who love what they are doing, love your baby. While I took a husky puppy to obedience training in the '90's and used that knowledge to put nice house manners on my dogs in the years that followed, I had no experience with this ancient guardian breed and knew I wanted to do more with her, including conformation dog shows. I spoke with at least 10 dog trainers in the Tulsa Metro and they unfailingly recommended the same training facility for the multiple training opportunities I was searching for--K9 Manners and More. When our girl was finally in our home and we had also found a Shih Tzu puppy the same age, we enrolled them both in puppy obedience class and also swim lessons. What an amazing experience this was! Our senior golden retriever also took swim lessons and we felt so much better that all three dogs could not only get out of the pool safely if they fell in, but also that our entire household understood how to train our new puppies. When we began the conformation classes with our trainer Kim, we learned far more than how to manage in the show ring; we also learned how to recognize the body language our dogs were expressing. Soon we began training for more than basic obedience and the show ring. Our Tibetan Mastiff bitch enjoyed the training lessons so much that she went on to earn her Puppy STAR Obedience, Canine Good Citizen certification, and Novice Trick Dog! Our Shih Tzu took another class and accompanied us to our private lessons to work on learning more as well. Soon my TM breeder and her granddaughter joined us occasionally for the lessons, and my new friend who had my TM's sister came too! Before we knew it, another breeder asked to join with her TM for some classes. This breed is notorious for being stubborn and difficult to train, and no one else around had any experience with Tibetan Mastiff training, so when people were surprised by how well trained my dog Zaya is, they were excited to take part in lessons with Kim! She helped my breeder's dog Magic get ready for and pass his CGC before he went to Westminster 2026, and helped both Magic and Zaya prepare for and pass their temperament tests. Yet another breeder from across the country heard of Zaya's success with Kim and brought me a puppy with poor socialization and high anxiety. Kim took on this pup as well and has achieved amazing progress with her. She will now accept treats from strangers and allow judges to go over her in the show ring. Zaya has now also completed her Farm Dog Certification and is a therapy dog working with CHAMPS. She is also actively working with me as my service dog. Another friend with Czechoslovakian Vlciaks has been training with K9 Manners and more in multiple disciplines for the last couple of years. She recently began training with us so that I can help show her dogs. The breed doesn't do well with outsiders, but with Kim's direction I was able to show two of her dogs at the 2026 Tulsa Canine Extravaganza. Halo and I even took Best of Breed one day! We could not have achieved all of these accomplishments without Kim and K9 Manners and More. We highly recommend them for all of your dog training aspirations, from group puppy and obedience classes, to agility, scent work, and dock diving, and everything in between. I don't mean tug I mean a yank that put fear in my dog's eyes.I tried not to yank very hard and the tall brunette women would come over and "show me" how much I had to yank. I'm pretty sure that's not the proper way to train with a herm Springer prong collar. I am new to dog training so I went one or two more times. When my dog was moping the day of her training the next time I said no more and never came back. It's very odd considering they say in the first session they use positive reinforcement only.

I notice he had a small tuft of hair on his tail that looked odd, but I just figured he had nipped at an itch. I was not told of anything happening during his session and even called, once I notice it was bothering him, to see if maybe a new shampoo had been used that was causing irritation or other dogs were having reactions to something. I was assured nothing different had occurred during his grooming. I was never expecting what came next. Two days later his tail had become super irritated and was losing fur due to his chewing on it. A couple of more days of his not responding to anti-itch meds and a cone, and I went to my vet. She discovered his tail had a 'guillotine' cut at his base, where the tuft had been, and the blood vessels were severed, like something heavy had dropped/shut on it. His tail was dying. After daily treatment, meds, and artificial skin attempts he literally ate his tail. $1500 later and major trauma to my pet and my family, he is recovering now with a bobbed tail. Throughout this entire devastating experience, the groomers never admitted to the chance that something happened during the grooming and at one point suggested I might have shut his tail in my vehicle's door! Really?!! All I know is that he went in as usual: beautiful, happy, and healthy. He came out with a dying tail.

I was worried I would not find a place to board my dog and my son's dog. Their vet would not take…read morethem because of past behaviors. I called the ER where my son's dog was treated. They knew his behavior. They recommended Metro Mutts at 13th and Peoria. My dog is afraid of everything and his dog is very aggressive around new people. These people are fantastic. You would swear they had degrees in dog psychology. The facility has a dog play area with boarding not in crates, but in individual units where the dog has plenty of room to move around. They called with a report the day before we returned to reassure us that the dogs were doing well. My son's Scottie loved playing with the big dogs and my dog was a little more standoffish, but she did go into the area. When my son bent down to pet my dog, she let him. For eight years she has growled when he came to visit me. Today she accepted his attention calmly. The Scottie follows one of the care givers around he was so attached.
