I have been struggling awhile about writing a yelp review, because I am not the kind of person who wants to ruin someones career or talk badly about someone else. However, after seeing Kristin's sister-in-law Amanda and another friend of hers rate her 5 stars, I just had too (if i could give her a 0 I would). Coming from an outside perspective, I would not hire Kristin again if someone offered to pay ME! In the beginning, she seemed ok. I texted her about the proper etiquette to send out invitations and she texted me back (this was the very beginning). However, as time went on and the date became close, I almost never got a response back in a timely matter. She would text me back two or three days later with some excuse about how she was sick or why she could not text me back. I hired her in January, roughly 5 months before the wedding. She did make two attempts to come to the venue in Whitmore. The venue has a lot of significance because it is where my husband and I first met. When Kristin came out with her Sister-in-law Amanda, they both acted like they were disgusted by the venue. The first review said that Kristin would be better suited for a backyard venue, well I disagree because she isn't suited to do that even. She acted like a total priss when she came out, couldn't stand the bugs, couldn't stand the dogs, couldn't stand the dirt. Between that and her lack of doing anything, I was getting pretty fed up. She told me that she would contact the DJ. Well about two weeks before the wedding, I had contacted Kristin about when we are going to have an appointment with the DJ at the venue. Because the reception would be in an area where we would have to figure out power, I thought the DJ needed to come out and establish the best place to set up. Kristin had texted me on March 7, saying she had contacted the Dj and was waiting for a response, and on May 1st Kristin texts me that she still hasn't heard from the DJ after I have asked her several times. So on May 1st, two months after she told me she was going to get a hold of the DJ to set up a time to meet, Kristin tells me that she may have the wrong number. This is now May 2, 11 days before my wedding and Kristin cannot figure out what the hell she is doing. I actually had to give Kristin the DJ's number, which I got off of Facebook. So for two months Kristin could not look on Facebook or the internet to get the DJ's correct number? I hired Kristin to take the stress off of myself and to set up appointments and contact vendors, which she is clearly not capable of. So finally on May 2, Kristin texts me that my DJ can meet at 6 at the venue, fine great! I have been accommodating this entire time, its my wedding so on just a few hours notice, I'll drop everything and be there. Kristin then tells me that we are going to meet at 3, and the DJ will be there at 6. She then tells me that she cannot stay to meet the dj at 6 because she can't do things that late. This was about my final straw with her, I asked her as my wedding planner shouldn't you meet with the DJ also? So I guess I'm supposed to meet you at 3 for you To do nothing but complain the whole time about the venue, and then wait around another 3 hours for the DJ to meet me? I always felt like I worked more for Kristin then she did for me. Why would you as my wedding planner think that you did not need to meet with the DJ? HANG In, I HAVEN'T EVEN GOT TO THE WORSE PART YET. Kristin did eventually meet with the DJ after I let her know I was very unhappy, but again she just stood around. So on May 8th, 3 days before my wedding, Kristin texts me asking what day everything will be delivered. Since the very beginning everything was supposed to be delivered on the Thursday before the wedding after 12. There was some confusion with the rental company whether the rentals would be delivered before 12 or later in the afternoon. Well Kristin tells me that she cannot be there, ok fine. So all my family is there helping set up with the tent, lights, chairs, table, basically everything Kristin should do. Well that by that night i never even hear from her. I text her that as my wedding planner I am unhappy that she never asked if everything was delivered ok and if there was anything she could do. She should be calling to make sure everything went smoothly. When I confronted her the night before my rehearsal dinner about the fact she does absolutely NOTHING, she QUITS! Kristin did not even have any plans on what time to have my rehearsal or tell me what time she would be there the next day!! What kind of professional wedding planner quits two days before their clients wedding? I have soo much more to say but I'am running out of room. When it came down to it, Kristin quitting and getting out of my wedding was the absolute best thing because she caused nothing but stress the entire time! All I can say is if you want a planner pay a little more and hire someone who knows that they are doing! She is absolutely awful. read more
