Kara is very talented!! Her work is AMAZING!! She shot my wedding on October 10th, 2009 and she did a great job!! Not only did the $3000 we paid (half up front & half the day of the wedding) she shot our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, wedding (12 hrs) and did an extra shoot at Old Shasta a month after our wedding! The pictures turned out amazing and our wedding book is such a special keepsake for the bride & groom!! Only grumble is that it did take a bit longer than anticipated to get final pictures back, but it was worth the wait!! And she did keep us updated with photos via FB!! Highly recommend!!! read more

I'm shocked to find ANY negative reviews on here because not only is Kara Stewart a professional but she is AMAZING. Kara shot my best friends wedding and after I saw her images and artistic eye, I knew I wanted her for my own wedding as well. She shot my backyard wedding on May 25th, 2013 and not only did she get the best candid photos of my family but she got my husband to smile!!!! She is warm, friendly, prompt and professional. She usually even brings an extra photography assistant at no extra cost (at least with mine and my friend's weddings). She has a way of shooting weddings so you don't even really see her, like a fly on the wall! As far as time to get pictures Kara is pretty typical for a photographer who photoshops and cleans up EVERY image. I got 50 sneak peek photos within four days of my ceremony as did my friend. the rest come when she's done perfecting them....which takes time people. Her work is impeccable...she's truly an amazing artist. I would recommend Kara to anyone who is looking to truly capture your special day, small details, romantic glances and love. read more

This was the WORST photography experience we have ever had. We hired her for our daughter's wedding on October 10, 2009 and she of course had to have all the monies up front. $3000. She came the day of the wedding amid personal problems and shot the wedding pics. It wasnt until May that we finally got "the book" along with a CD. My husband and I were not impressed and I would not want anyone to get ripped off like we did. The pics were just ok and then she proceeded to use them in Enjoy magazine for 3 months running when we couldnt even get any. I had to beg to get a pic for our xmas card. She is a nightmare and doesnt care. DO NOT USE. I wanted to use our favorite photog, New Images and I let my daughter pic Kara.....BIG MISTAKE!! YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WARNED. I have NOTHING to show my friends or family cuz "the book" belongs to my daughter...all very sad. Pleeeez dont make the same mistake we did. read more

We met Kara at a wedding expo and quickly fell in love with her work and her personality. We hired her to do our engagement photos and our wedding photos. It took her about a month to get us our photos back from our engagement photo session. However, the wait was well worth it. We loved what she was able to capture. We were thrilled with what she had captured and couldn't wait for our big day to see what she could really do. Unfortunately, that is where her professionalism ended. Leading up to the wedding it was so difficult to get ahold of her to confirm details and ask her questions. It was so bad that a week before the wedding we had to ask if we needed to hire another photographer. She immediately got back to us and assured us that we did not need to hire someone else. She said that she moved and had bad reception and that's why she never responded. It literally took us threatening to hire someone else to get her to respond. That should have been our first red flag but we went off of all her reviews and her work and we truly believed her. Our wedding day came and went and it took her almost 8 months to get us our photos, this did not include our wedding album. When we finally received our photos after again hounding her relentlessly and again receiving every excuse under the sun from her we were once again disappointed. The photos were in a random order, so not in chronological order of the event, photos weren't centered ( which resulted in people's arms being cut off because she didn't take the time to center the photo), my husband's head was cut off in lots of photos because she didn't shoot the camera at a high enough angle, and all our alter photos had gazebo posts down the middle or people's heads blocking half the photo. When we confronted her about the quality she stated " we saw the work she had done and she lived up to that expectation". She went on to say that her work was an artistic expression. We are now over a year out and never received or album that we paid for. She boasts that the album costs $1200. She agreed to give us $500 for the album we never received in exchange for agreeing to never get one. We finally agreed because we were so sick of her unprofessionalism and her excuses. We threatened to sue her but she agreed to give us a canvas print and the $500. We are again several months out with her yet again failing to respond to messages and follow through with promises. Good person, awful photographer. Save yourself the heartache and hire a real professional. read more

Great Photographer! I was shocked to see such a poor review on her services. That is not at all what I experienced. Kara did my daughter's senior pictures on location. The photos were amazing! The fee was very reasonable and the pictures were delivered in a timely manner. Not only were the pictures wonderful, but my daughter had SO much fun taking them.
