I've been getting my birth control prescribed from this place for 2 years. I am 19 years old and every time I have been to this place, I have not been treated well, and the staff does not communicate well at all. THEY FORCED ME TO GET A PAP SMEAR. I went in for my regular check up a few months ago to get a renewal on my birth control prescription. That was the only thing I scheduled my appointment for. I come in, they told me I had to get a "wellness check," in order to get my prescription. I told them that was fine, but that I did NOT want a pap smear because I hadn't been sexually active for over a year. My mom also coached me to tell them "no" if they wanted me to do a pap smear (but I was alone at the appointment). I told the nurse I didn't want to do a pap smear, and that my mom didn't want them to do that to me either. Well she tells me, "That's fine, we can cancel your appointment right now." Mind you, I'm already in my appointment, I've changed into the gown, she's like inspected my breasts and stuff already. I'll never forget how horrible and uncomfortable I felt when I knew that in order to get my birth control prescription that I came here for, I was going to have to have a metal device stuck up my vagina. According to the CDC website, Planned Parenthood website, and every single person and website i can find: YOU DON'T NEED A PAP SMEAR UNTIL YOU ARE 21! (unless there are extenuating circumstances). I have no STDS, unusual discharge or anything abnormal going on in my vagina. They knew this, and still forced me to go through an incredibly exposing and uncomfortable experience. I've never had a fear toward any doctors or nurses. I always trust them. But after this experience, I'm now leaving this review because months later I am still shocked and upset that they made me feel like I had to go through that. I always thought that if I had a female nurse, she is someone I can trust, be respected, and communicate with. Clearly not. I won't be coming back here and neither will my mom. This is not the OBGYN to feel safe and supported by other women.

He immediately understood what I was describing and knew exactly what to test for. He took my hormonal concerns seriously and helped me find real solutions without ever making me feel dismissed. I want to start by saying I love the front desk staff and the nurse who worked me up…read more I was a first time patient and had completed my paperwork ahead of time. Signed in and was waiting in the empty lobby for 45 minutes. I then was brought back to the room and waited 30 minutes or more after the nurse did her work up. I was not checked in on once or told how much longer the wait would be. Dr. Boyd comes in and sits down in the chair across from me. She then wanted to review my medical history. It was completely inaccurate. I had spent 25 minutes writing down my detailed family history prior to my appointment as required and she was repeating it incorrectly. I then corrected her politely and she "fixed it." She then said I was here for my hormone evaluation panel and I agreed and she just ordered the labs. She did not ONCE examine me or take a look at the areas I was concerned about (even tho that was why I was there). I was told they do not do labs in office and had to obtain them and return in a month to review the results (which is fine). I was then checked out. About 2 weeks later I received the EOB from my insurance and she billed a moderate visit that cost my insurance $600 dollars and I had to pay $175. I went to look at my chart summary and the medical history was STILL wrong after Dr. Boyd "fixed it" in the exam room with me. She had completely incorrect diagnosis of cancer for my family and had random diagnoses for my father (that I did not report and he does not have). My occupation was also wrong (despite filling it in myself online as instructed beforehand like the rest of the paperwork). I have never given a provider a poor review before but the lack of detail and absolutely NO physical exam by her was not ok. I am seeing another OBGYN next week who I hope cares more than Dr. Boyd. Please go see another provider and avoid this practice. I paid my fee but I will not be returning.
