We tried to bring our son in to get his free donuts for good grades. We were coming in 4 weeks after the quarter ended and we got to the counter and a older man said he could get 6 for his 6 A's. Then this old lady came over and said that my son couldn't get his donuts because we were late. Then she proceeded to make a scene about it telling all the customers how we couldn't get our donuts because we were so late. The parking lot is small and can be hard to get into at certain hours because of traffic. There is always a counter full of different flavors and of course the solid plain! The icing on the inside and the outside had already started separating and breaking down. The pastry was old and stale. I had a bad experience but it was saved by a cari g supervisor on Sat, 12/23. I had ordered the "elf" box and had a card from a school fund raiser for a free dozen with any purchase. I couldn't figure out how to add the coupon online. Go to the store drive thru to pick up my order asking if I could also use the card for my free doz. The young man at the register said no way to do that with the "elf" box. I showed him where it said, "free dozen glazed with any dozen purchased". He said that it didn't work. I asked for the supervisor and the line behind me was getting longer. The supervisor came and at first said that they couldn't add the free one on to the order after more discussion she agreed to try to enter a new online order for the Elf doz and free doz. She then says it worked and asked for $20.50. I told her I had pAid online. She said I could cancel the online order. She agreed to cancel the order and refund my money for the original online order. I pulled around to the side and true to her word she brought proof she had cancelled and refunded my original amt charged. When this new store opened in Roanoke, after the one on Melrose had to close due to fire, Roanokers lost their ever-loving minds. It's a doughnut. They are not laced with gold or served by a shirtless George Clooney. But they are good doughnuts. When they opened, they had freaking police directing traffic there because it was such a mess. But I went around 1 on a Tuesday, no problem. Drove right up. The 6 doughnuts I got (4 glazed, 2 snowmen) were a little over $6.00. For an extra $1.50-ish I could have gotten a whole dozen, but that would mean I'd have to eat a whole dozen, and nope. read more

I've had Krispy Kreme's from a box in a supermarket - but haven't been in a store since I was a little girl. There is something quite magical in how light and airy those fresh off the line glazed donuts are - just unbelievable. Service here was wonderful - welcoming and helpful - and the donut production line visible from behind glass walls was a fun treat for us. I consistently have had stale lemon filled and have not been back to the new one. Never had this problem with the one on Melrose. The place was not busy but the staff was unorganized. To make matters worse we were given the wrong soft drink and small iced coffees when we ordered mediums. After informing the clerk of the mistake, they took them to the other counter dumped our drinks into a medium cup and then added ice. When we got to the window we were greeted with "what did you get?" - Once we informed him of our order the boy then turned around and proceeded to turn around and put doughnuts in the box with his BARE HANDS. When he attempted to hand me the box and I told him I did not want doughnuits he touched with his bare hands he proceeded to roll his eyes at me and throw the box down on the counter. Every time I come to this Krispy Kreme the wait is ridiculous. They either need more staff or better management. Today I had to wait in the drive thru for 15 minutes because the lady in front of me only had a discover card and they don't accept discover. You'd think they would ask her to move to the side or park in a spot and come in so they can help the other patrons in the line, but no they just let her sit there for 15 minutes until they finally just gave her the donuts and let her go. When I pulled up they didn't apologize for the wait or anything... just took my money and gave me the food. This location really needs to work on their customer service. When I arrived at 9 am on a Monday morning, there was only one other customer in line so I was able to get in and out of there quickly.
