I tasted PAC-man donuts last weekend, which are available at Krispy Kreme for a limited time. Krispy Kreme currently has a special for buy any dozen of PAC-man donuts, get original glazed dozen for 25 cents, just on 05/22! Check before you go, they sell out fast! I visited this location after driving by many times. It especially caught my eye at night when it's illuminated and looks like sugar is calling your name. After years of not visiting Krispy Kreme, I finally stopped in. The store has drive thru, dine in, and order for pickup options. Most guests the morning of my visit (there was a line) took their orders to go and order a dozen donuts. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was very impressed by the cleanliness and newness of the store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was modern and hip, lots of merch too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The layout of the store is strange and tight but there are a few indoor and outdoor places where you can comfortably sit with your crew.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Like at Times Square (New York) location, you can see the glazing process and the donut conveyor, which is pretty neat and mesmerizing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a bit of history about Krispy Kreme hats at the front of the store with an invite to wear one. I was the only guest to take them up on the offer, and the hat didn't fit really well. There's plenty of them and the store! It's a fun selfie prop! Donut inventory dulled my visit (it was only 10 AM). There were few donut varieties in the case and only one type of PAC-Man donut. When I made a comment about the fact that I would have loved to have more PAC-man options, there were no reactions from the employees. Not like we'll check in the back or anything like that. In general, they seemed to be very new and not very familiar with the checkout process. Service was just bland. My order included: -Two iced coffees - Pretty bold flavor for a chain shop. I liked them! -PAC-man donut - Not a favorite. Too much icing, not enough donut. The black icing stained my hands and everything it touched. -Original glazed donuts - Not as good as I remember. I think that their recipes now include less sugar. Fresh! Overall, fresh donuts and a great deal for my order (paid around $13). The workers. I have no idea what happened, but this location customer service went even more downhill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From walking in and seeing all of the green covered trays of donuts which took up what seemed like 3/4 of work area for workers. If they're making and loading donuts for McDonald's or whatever. They didn't setup the space to work better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To the register not working and drive thru and inside guy needing to use same register. Or the line of people waiting while the drive thru person just stood there watching. I get being busy, and the guy working inside sales was busy back and forth. But it shouldn't take 15 mins for 1 customer. He had to make drinks plus donuts. When it was finally my turn I had to ask if I could have fresh glazed. I got the hoppy donuts which is their promotion for the season. Don't look for anything new or special .It's a regular glazed donut with a bunch of color frosting. Other than being super cute, I don't see the excitement and I wouldn't purchase again. I switched out the strawberry donut for two glaze. I recommend you give it a go. If you go for nothing else ,you definitely have to get the original glazed donuts. They are the best i've ever had. read more

I had a coupon for a free medium coffee with any purchase so since I was in the Mayfield Heights area anyway, I used the coupon as an excuse to try one of Krispy Kreme's new pumpkin donuts. I skipped the drive thru and ordered inside. My order was a plain medium iced coffee and a pumpkin cheesecake swirl glazed donut. The coffee beans aren't that bad actually. Totally mid-tier so don't go expecting much but definitely drinkable. The pumpkin cheesecake swirl didn't really have a cheesecake flavor - it was more just sweet, regular icing. But overall, after heating it at home for 10 seconds in the microwave, I enjoyed this tasty, (lightly) pumpkin spiced treat! The store isn't that clean and the staff could care less but what bumped this up to 4 stars was the family of 6 in the dining area that were just living life and having the best time eating their donuts. The kids were clearly having the best time ever with their sugary breakfasts and krispy kreme paper hats. Watching this family as I stirred the half and half into my plain iced coffee made me so happy for some reason! It brought me back to my childhood. The prices are insane nowadays as a dozen will set you back $21. I could go to Goldie's and get some AMAZING homemade local donuts for around the same amount so you aren't saving money by going to a worldwide chain here. I was so excited to finally have a Krispy Kreme location nearby, rather than driving 30-40 minutes to visit an actual store. I really like the rewards program and the coupons we receive via email. However, I wonder if this location is equipped for the traffic they receive. I have been in the drive thru for up to 20 minutes, with only 2-3 cars ahead of me. I've experienced a visit when the fryer was down and all the donuts looked weird or just no original glazed donuts at all. How does a place not have what they are known for? Recently stopped in to try two of the featured Thanksgiving Pies collection. I received an email about the new flavors and was excited to try the Blueberry Crisp and Apple Crumble flavors. Upon reaching the counter and reviewing the selection I noticed that I didn't see the blueberry crisp flavor. I asked gentleman helping us if it would be a wait for more and he advised that the flavor was discontinued due to the blueberry supplier. I was very disappointed but appreciated that the flavor was pulled from production out of safety concerns. Me and hubby opted for the apple crumble and chocolate silk pie donuts. I'll def give an A for effort in terms of presentation however taste was very lackluster. The donuts didn't taste that good and the flavors just weren't a wow for me. I honestly would just prefer the regular glazed donut. Excited to have this classic donut shop in the area. Brand new building. Nice places to sit inside. Has the traditional viewing area to watch the donuts being made. Friendly staff that work hard to keep clearing the line. Drive thru is pretty busy but goes fast. Donuts were fresh and tasted great. read more

My child really wanted one, so the very bored and unhelpful teen on the intercom grudgingly admitted what 4 donut flavors they did have (since we showed up at the apparently bad time of 2pm on a Sunday) and we got a couple. My child thought hers was essentially stale. I got a raspberry-filled which looked okay until I bit into it, and found no actual raspberry jelly. This place is a joke. We'll certainly never return. this location is an embarrassment to the company that I grew up enjoying in Akron and have loved for 50 years. not only do they not pick up the phone to call in advance, you have to drive there to find out they don't have any donuts. in addition they don't brew their coffee regularly so when you get your iced coffee or any coffee for that matter after you've gotten your donuts you've gotta wait for them to brew a pot. ordering the donuts online, a 12 count, glazed, is three dollars more so you can see why we'd rather phone at least to make sure they have them before we make the extra trip to go to this location. Horrible Service!!!!!! Donuts Great but do not expect service! I placed an online order the days before & I get there for pick-up and only one box not two & even then the donuts were not right!! They told me they sold out! I put the order in, so those should have been pulled before they sold out! I did it this way per the manager I talked too at the store a few days before!! Then they get mad at me when I asked for the donuts they do have, but will cost more money then I paid!!! The manager on today was rude, disrespectful, out right horrible! I was told how dare I as the customer demand they give me different donuts even though they did not have what I ordered!! So even if you put in an order, days ahead don't expect it to be there!
