While he's clearly a brilliant man, a visit to his office makes you feel cared for as you would visiting a family member. You're able to really talk because Dr Huie isn't judging you or speaking from atop his Physician's Pedestal. He's a smart human, there to help. His office staff go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. They deal with pharmacy and insurance glitches. They are the kind of people you can hear smiling through the phone. When you call his office (during office hours) someone picks up on the first or second ring. When you arrive you are given the most minimum paperwork which is a huge relief. He's always on time and you are never kept waiting. Most doctors talk to you while staring at your chart or typing into a computer and barely look at you. Dr. Huie gives direct eye contact right away and is present with you the entire time. You get his full attention. He asks enough questions but doesn't pester you with irrelevant ones. He gets quickly to his suggestion and doesn't overly explain things once you get it. He has a great network of folks he refers you do and somehow even has their phone numbers memorized. The office sends you easy to understand bills and is easy to work with. Doctors like these are a dying breed. I hope he never retires.
