When you call his office (during office hours) someone picks up on the first or second ring. When you arrive you are given the most minimum paperwork which is a huge relief. He's always on time and you are never kept waiting. Most doctors talk to you while staring at your chart or typing into a computer and barely look at you. Dr. Huie gives direct eye contact right away and is present with you the entire time. You get his full attention. He asks enough questions but doesn't pester you with irrelevant ones. He gets quickly to his suggestion and doesn't overly explain things once you get it. He has a great network of folks he refers you do and somehow even has their phone numbers memorized. The office sends you easy to understand bills and is easy to work with. Doctors like these are a dying breed. I hope he never retires.

Rep didn't know why an ofc visit was mandated for a flu/ covid shot nor how much that office visit would cost (shots should be covered) nor the code I could share when I make another call to insurance to find out. Then he offered to route me back and I asked he stay on the line. He did not and then after another 7 min the held call dropped. Crazy... Guess I'll go to CVS... Boo...it used to be such a nice office with great care.

While waiting for the doctor, I overheard her and staff gossiping about me outside the door. I waited 45 minutes only to be talked to in a condescending matter. I am very put off by this office. I called and said that if I couldn't be seen in February that I'd like them to send my medical records. I just received a call from them stating that it'd have to be May, unless I wanted to see another Dr. in their office. I'm now looking for another medical group. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS ENTIRE MEDICAL GROUP.

I continue to be very grateful that she is my doctor. It IS really a shame about the office staff. They do leave you on hold for long periods of time and treat you like you are only there to ruin their day. There are several doctors in this office - so I don't blame Dr. Hwang for this.

She runs lots of tests when you first go see her and does an extremely thorough intake. She found that I had adrenal fatigue after dealing with extreme stress for more than a year, and gave me some very helpful supplements to address that, and also helps manage my thyroid properly. Thanks to Dr. Halpern I feel 100% better! Her manner is a very matter of fact and not touchy feely or very warm, which may put people off at first, but she genuinely cares about her patients. One star off because she doesn't take insurance and is therefore a bit pricey, and because she works alone and so it can take a little while to hear back from her (no more than a couple days usually).
