After moving to Pacifica and needing prompt action from a CPA, I asked a bay area baby boomer for a…read morereferral and she told me her realtor trusted Ron Chicca. I called him and asked if he would help to both interpret the waves of IRS bullish*t which had arrived in the mail, and help me save some money. We had an appointment set after our first phone call, in which he asked for details regarding what I had received from the IRS and told me to bring a list of things to make the situation run smoother. Ron Chicca, pronounced Chee-Cha, had my situation under control real quick. After two meetings I knew EXACTLY how much I had to shell out to the tax man (which was not clear to me from the IRS, they were sending me all sorts of mixed messages), and he filed my 2016 state and federal returns as well. He did all this, including take my initial phone call, the week he was set to take a vacation. Good stuff, call him up.

I filled it manually and both the Franchise Tax Board and also I got it wrong. Instead of expecting a refund, it appeared that we were going to have to pay $5,000 more. I knew that I needed the help of an accountant. I drove by Dan's practice, BAY CPA's. I went in and met Dan. He is a gentleman. He is professional. He is very competent. He looked at my files and asked for additional details. He told me to leave it with him. I got a wonderful surprise when I went to his office this morning to look at his final work. It was superb and exceeded my highest expectations. Dan had also taken the initiative and faxed all relevant documents to the Franchise Tax Board to make sure that we filed an amended return in a timely manner. Dan exceeded all of our expectations . He is now our accountant for all business and personal matters.

This firm would receive zero stars if possible…read more I was passed to this firm from a smaller boutique firm as part of an acquisition. Since then, this firm has been acquired by another firm MGO. All I can say is they charged an arm and a leg, and when I tried to leave the firm for a smaller one, they dragged their feet at every opportunity. Unless you can generate significant billable hours for this now behemoth, find another option as you will be billed outrageously and treated poorly.

I highly recommend Mr. Ravi Kumaraswamy for tax preparation and filing services…read more I was introduced to Ravi through a friend from California, and he handled my tax filing this year. After living here and filing taxes for many years, this is the first year I can genuinely say that I am completely satisfied with the experience. Ravi is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and accurate. He took the time to understand my situation properly, explained things clearly, and provided thoughtful guidance to help me take advantage of the benefits and deductions applicable to my situation. I felt confident knowing that my taxes were being handled by someone who truly knows what he is doing. His attention to detail, professionalism, and responsiveness really stood out to me. I am very happy with his service and will definitely recommend Ravi to my friends, family, and anyone looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy tax professional.

Luckily for me I found someone this doesn't apply to. Initially I thought the hours might be a typo or I was misreading them but no. Ravi responds quite quickly and the hours work perfect for me as I can have periods of irregular hours. Great for advisory and it's nice to be able to shoot off a text and get a response and feedback quickly. I've found that some tax and accounting professionals like to wax on and on through phone calls and while it is nice to speak over the phone I can't dread every call for a quick ask.

He is quick in getting back to your questions. At almost any hours. He is always available when I need him. 2. He is patience, it may take me days to get back to him but he is always very quick to keep moving the process forward. 3. My tax is not simple with many schedule forms. He handles them seamlessly. 4. He accommodates my business schedule and last minute asks with no drama. For a silicon hi-tech executive (who used to travel for work a lot prior to CV19), I am very happy with Avi's service, his professionalism and all at reasonable rates.

I had a very poor experience with this service provider. I…read morewas ignored, in effect lied to, my emails were not responded to, calls were not returned, sensitive, only copy of personal docs were put into the US mail instead of giving me the option to pick up, no interview was done of my changes in status, they never bothered to get my current phone and address and so mailed the return to the wrong address, and the return they created and submitted to me was wrong and illegal. They took illegal deductions and ignored legal ones. If I had actually filed it I, no, THEY, would have been liable for penalties and interest and possibly an audit. While promises were made about work to be performed in conversation, commitments were not kept and were changed without notifying me. Overall gave me a feeling like I didn't really matter to the firm. I got this same feeling from the office staff. Who were singularly unfriendly and unhelpful in almost all interactions. Add to this the fact the office looks like something out of the 50s and is cluttered and messy and their prices are high for value received and the fact the other reviews are over 2 years old, My STRONG suggestion is to AVOID this firm. Use Totah or even HR Block. Yes, HR Block, I used them and they were fast, kept me informed, did the return correctly and were a pleasure to work with. Perhaps this firm was great at one time, but perhaps that time has passed. Do what you want, of course, but when you have a poor experience here, just remember: You've Been Warned. I would give 0 stars if possible.
