they are very busy, bit of a wait to get an apointment…read more just had state inspection done but they did car quickly and didn't make up any imaginary problems

I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the way my vehicle was handled by this shop…read more A month ago, my car showed sensor warning lights, so I specifically brought it in to make sure the vehicle was SAFE to drive. At that time, I had absolutely NO brake issues whatsoever. My brakes were working fine before bringing my car to this shop. After a test drive, I was told to first get an oil change elsewhere because they had no openings that day, and then return for diagnostics regarding the sensor lights. We followed their instructions exactly and returned the car. I paid $517.06 for repairs that included fixing broken wiring to the right front wheel and replacing the front wheel ABS speed sensor. I was also told the ABS module was bad and expensive to replace, but Liz clearly told me that replacing the module was NOT necessary and that the car would still be safe to drive as long as the dashboard lights did not bother me. I even asked again, in front of a witness, if the car would be safe after the repairs, and I was reassured that it would be. Only TWO WEEKS later, my brakes completely failed while driving. The car would barely stop. We immediately brought it back to the shop. They kept the car for days and then charged us another $1,871.48 for brake repairs, including calipers, rotors, pads, brake lines, and the master cylinder. After continuing to have issues, they kept the car again for over two additional weeks and charged us another $187.62. In total, we paid $2,576.16 When we When we contacted the shop, instead of taking responsibility, they attempted to blame us and claimed they had warned us about the ABS module causing brake failure -- which is absolutely NOT what we were told originally. They even added wording to the receipt claiming we ACKNOWLEDGED that the brake system could fail without replacing the module. What they did not know is that I recorded the conversation where we were specifically told the car would still be safe to drive without replacing the module. I specifically explained that icdidnt want to put mlney if it was too expensive but ehat they y did not know is that I recorded the conversation where we were specifically told the car would still be safe to drive without replacing the module. Throughout this entire process, we were repeatedly told "they are working on it," while being left without answers, without reliable transportation, and paying thousands of dollars for repairs that still did not fix the problem. This experience has been stressful, expensive, and honestly terrifying. Brake failure is not a minor issue -- it puts lives at risk. I strongly encourage others to ask questions, document everything, and get second opinions before trusting major safety repairs here.

Paul B. Wood Tires - Paul B. Wood is much more than a tire store.

Went here when K&S tire couldn't come up with tires for my 36 street rod that weren't 4 years old…read more Met Jim and he had the tires the next day. He took great care doing it with floor jacks one wheel at a time. Great prices and a great guy. My new place for tires.

I think it's fair to say that no one likes to waste money or feel that they've been ripped off…read more While I have been going to Paul Wood for many years that's how I feel things went the last two times I brought my car here for non-tire service. Let me first say that by no means am I talking about what goes on here in regards to tires. Excellent pricing along with super fast service that is truly the best of the best. But then there's the other side of the business which is auto repair. Visit 1: I brought my car here telling them that I saw a leak under the car and that the temperature gauge was running high. They charged me over a hundred dollars to look at my radiator, add coolant then tell me there was no leak and that the issue was from me running the coolant too low. The problem with that theory was that the car continued to overheat the same day as it had been doing prior to my visit. In a vote of no confidence, I went to another shop that found the source of the problem (hole in the radiator) in less than five minutes. Visit 2: The tire pressure sensor light goes on. While getting an inspection done I ask them about how this could be fixed. I'm told that it can only be fixed at the dealership, they don't have the tools and that it would be well over a hundred dollars. Ironically, the same place that found/fixed the radiator leak also fixed the sensor issue for...twenty bucks. And there were other things like brake pads that needed replacing after less than ten thousand miles (no I don't drive for Uber or in NYC nor do I like doing hard stops for fun) which had never happened to me in my entire life. Overall this is still a great shop for tires and tire repair. Maybe the last few times were flukes. I don't know. What I do know is that anytime I need to pay twice to get something fixed it makes me very wary about coming back for potentially more of the same.

Hank's Auto Service

Hank's Auto Service

As a customer- I will give Hank's Auto Service + 1 5 Smiley faces are better than 5 stars…read more *SHOUT OUT TO ALL WHO LOVE GREAT & FAIR AUTO REPAIR SHOPS!* Went to [HANK'S AUTO SERVICE (AUTO REPAIR)] today in BETHLEHEM, PA and was stunned by the GREAT service both I and my TRUCK received! First off, let me start by saying that when its the OWNER of the shop the greets you at the door and puts your vehicle on the lift, YOU KNOW YOU MUST HAVE GONE TO THE RIGHT PLACE! Next Mr.. Hank himself , was the one who did the work to my vehicle ( of course all great people need helpers & which he had 2 there working on other vehicles) and even did necessary repairs that WERE NOT quoted in the price that was given to me by his grandson GABRIELLE. In my opinion and experience , if someone is providing you with a service , they usually only do what's quoted or asked of them ( and then always tell you that you need something else or that it's going to cost more than originally stated) and nothing more without a hefty fee. BUT NOT TODAY FOLKS! TODAY, I WAS BLESSED WITH AN HONEST, HARD-WORKING MAN WHO ONLY WANTED TO ENSURE MY SAFETY ON THE ROAD! BY -THE WAY HERE'S SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERY DAY - THE WHOLE TIME MY TRUCK WAS GETTING SERVICED WE WERE LISTENING TO SOME MUSIC ON MY LAPTOP ( WHICH WAS HANKS IDEA). If any of you folks haven't heard "I LOVED HER FIRST" By "HEARTLAND" take a second and listen to it. You just might like it ! Once my truck was up on the lift my interaction with Hank did not end there. He called me over to show me where the problem was. He spoke to me (not at me) in a way that was easy to understand & he took the time to explain how it was not only my pan gasket that was causing the gear oil leak, but also that the actual cover plate itself had a tiny crack in it. So he busied himself with smoothing down the cover and then repairing it back to "good as new" so to speak. With the plate off, inside cleaned out, new gasket in, repaired cover and new fluids added and everything all tightened down, he was just about to call the mission a success but, I had a couple questions for him. While the truck was still in the air I wanted to see if he could tell me what I'd been hearing when I shifted gears from drive to reverse. Before I could describe what I heard and felt he said, "does it make a clanking noise?" That's precisely what I'd been hearing so I told him that my Fiancee thought it could be the u-joint. Hank showed me where the universal joint was (he started turning something under the truck to tell if it needed replaced) but assured me as he was also showing me that it was good -to-go. With it not being the u-joint that was making that noise , he said it's in the rear-end. I guess it's pretty common in those style trucks but, he told me not to worry about it because it's not to the point of going all the way out. It just started that clanking a couple months ago and according to him, it takes quit a long time for a rear-end to go out. There's the point that I hoped to get out to all of you- Hank's Auto Service is not out to take any hard earned dollars from those who come to him for help. Hank will fix what needs fixing, then fix anything that could be a dangerous situation for you , and will also inspect that vehicle to ensure your on-going safety on the road. NOW THAT'S A MECHANIC! But more than that, that's a DECENT HUMAN BEING and that's the way we were intended to be! So if you're ever in the area and could use some auto repairs, head down to HANK'S AUTO SERVICE 226 EAST MECHANIC STREET BETHLEHEM, PA 18015 PHONE# (610) 866-2022 I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN ANY WAY! To me, great service and great people are ALWAYS worth a little longer drive time down the freeway . Well folks I hope all of you get to have an experience like I did today at this shop and if and when you do, you should spread the word and pay-it-forward. Great service & Great people deserve to be bragged on- they've earned it
