This is one of the few venues in Kankakee that offers a blank canvas for special events ranging…read morefrom birthday parties and weddings to trade shows and more. The outside doesn't show it's age as much as the inside, so depending on your event, be prepared to spend money on decor and lighting to detract away from the ceiling, dingy windows and dusty window coverings and grates for air/heat. I was recently here for a winter wedding so it was really warm with all the people inside and heat on but it was drafty in places. The kitchen is a big convenience if you will have catered food. I recommend preparing food off site and bringing in warming cabinets. There is ample counter space as well should you wish to use that for food prep or organizing things for set up. There is a ramp making this place handicap accessible. Be careful with the step to get in and out though for everyone else. The "WOAH" from guests leaving caused a moment of panic because that could easily lead to a twisted ankle or someone falling if older. I don't recall if there was a label or something on the door already saying "WATCH YOUR STEP" but it wouldn't hurt to make your own nice sign to ensure your guests don't injure themselves.

Uniquely beautiful, historically sound, one-of-a-kind event space. We held the Cotton-Terrell…read moreFamily Reunion Friday Fish Fry Meet & Greet here this past weekend. The ballroom is spacious and versatile in use. The stage is a bit sunken back and removed from the main floor, so a concert of panel discussion would suit the space perfectly. The 5-panel mirrored wall to the upper left of the venue is out of place, yet convenient for certain embellishments. We utilized this wall as a backdrop for the candy table, which gave a visual duplication of the 20+ glass vases filled with goodies. The commercial kitchen and storage room are fully enclosed, allowing catering easy access to event yet privacy for prep. The light hardwood floors prove to withstand a 7-minute Electric Slide session for over 50 people. The capacity of around 300 persons is shy, at best. The foyer with 2 double-door entries on either side allow for a good flow: one door in and traffic flows out the other. Unfortunately, the restrooms are outdated and could use a good coat of paint and decor. Plenty of parking in the left lot of along the street at the head of the grass field. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and I'm sure my family would not hesitate to book again.

The manager said he would look into it and he would go up there and try and fix it. During the entire movie, the sound was never correct and I think they had something wrong with their speaker physically. I didn't enjoy that at all and it was the first time that I had gone to the movies and over a year because of covid. This past Friday went to see nightmare alley at Paramount theater in Kankakee. About halfway during the movie it just stopped in the screen went blank and it was like that for about 5 minutes. And then after about 5 minutes the movie started back up with no issue. And then as we left after the movie the manager came up to each one of us that were in the theater and gave us a gift card which gave us one free movie. He apologized because the movie went out for an interrupted our viewing experience. So my visit for eternals was a bus in the movie was ruined for me because the sound was bad during the whole film. They didn't do anything for me. I went to see nightmare alley and had a slight inconvenience the only lasted 5 minutes, and the manager of this theater gave us free tickets to the next movie. Movies 10 needs to learn from these guys because that is good customer service.

Purchased our tickets at the box office than online which was cheaper surprisingly. $14 for two people. Check em out!

Quite different atmosphere but I like it ! Very small place ,friendly staff, owner was present and…read moremaking sure all was ok . We came out to see a friends band , we purchased the VIP seating , it was a nice area to get away from the general bar crowd while the band was playing , sound wasn't that good, I am not sure if they were having issues or if it always is this way , but you couldn't hear very well the singer from the Vip section . But you are up close and personal for sure !! They don't have the bbq menu anymore it's now a taco lady , and the tacos were good ! They had a assortment of items on the menu , wasn't pricey and portions were good size . Drinks were also reasonable and they seemed to have a variety of alcohol options The ceiling tiles are painted different themes and sayings , interesting again !! Parking is next to none ! You can park on the street but there isn't a ton of space . I literally didn't even see a parking lot . Overall it was a interesting experience and I would come out again if there was a band or event there I was interested in !! I mainly took a few videos which I can't seem to post here but the one pic I took is of the drummers set !

I have seen multiple Local H shows in the past, but never at a venue this small. In addition, I had been wanting to see Letters From The Dead for a long time and finally had the chance! The intimate experience was truly amazing from the beginning all the way to the end of the show. This place is small and they bring in great music which makes it an awesome experience! Attending a show at the Looney Bin should be on everyone's bucket list! I'll be back next week to see Letters From The Dead perform again opening for J.R. Richards (original singer of Dishwalla)! Great live music, easy parking, cold beer, and great people! What more do you need?
