Took our coo coo clocking for repair, oil and make all the functions work. The repairman said they would call when ready. That was July 2022. I called before Christmas to see if was done. He said did anyone call you. I said no. He said you will get a call when It's done. Still no call This month April I went into the store and said I come to pick up my clock. He said did someone call you. I said I'm pick it up done or not. Couldn't find it. Took a few minutes. I picked it up off of the floor and took it my car. Took his container back in. We got our novelty clock fixed, however it came back without the second hand. When we inquired about it, we were told how the new mechanism they ordered to get it working again didn't come with a second hand (which is normally attached). Ok, fine. We should have been contacted when it was realized that it wouldn't come back to us in the same condition we brought it in, and we should have been asked if we still wanted it fixed. It's common courtesy. I don't think the guy even apologized. Having said all that, they are nice people. If you take your clock there just be specific that you want full communication. read more

Took my father's 31 Day clock to Krenek's for cleaning and oiling. Was told it would take a week to 10 days. 2 weeks later I callled, still a week to 10 days. After 6 weeks, I went to pick it up to take elsewhere, he said it was done and charged me $95. Took the clock home, it stopped running after a few seconds. Tried to restart several times. I took off the face, oiled the bearing points with a clock oiler I have for my grandfather clock. Now it runs fine. I'm not saying he cheated me, but I'm suspicious. read more

This place is awful. Years ago when it was on n main it was somewhat better but now he's a very rude condescending man. I've had my clock in 5 times now and still not working correctly and not only does he seem to not care but he also doesn't answer you and makes you feel like you're bothering him. I took a Regulator clock in because it stopped working. The old man mentioned that it just needed cleaning and some oil. Eight month later, I got it back. After a couple of days, I noticed it wasn't chiming like it should have. It was quiet. This is where it gets interesting. My wife took the clock in to get it fixed. The old man had a condescending attitude to my wife and belittling her telling her that the clock never had a chime. So, the following week, I took the clock in. The old man had the same belittling attitude towards me. We've own the clock for 40 years. I know it had a chime. Low and behold, after a little rummaging through their junk pile, they found the chime they failed to replace. We took the clock home and it quit working after a month. The ancient people that work here need to take some basic people skills courses. And get their attitude in check. If Yelp had a 'no-star' ranking, this place would get it. Save your money. read more

Doug and his father have been doing my clocks for over 15 years - yes, they are slow, but they are excellent craftsmen. If you have a real clock, they can make it run or keep it running. Had my clock for over a year. They would fix it, leave my house and before they could get back to Rockford it would quit running. The last time they brought it back it would not kept the right time. It ran fast. It is not running but this time it will be a different clock repair in Pecatonica. Oh btw...it is a real clock. read more

There is a sticker on the back of my 1700ish French table clock indicating that they worked on this antique on 6/2/1971. You have to be doing something right in your business to stand the test of time like this one. They were on 2314 N Main St at the time. read more

I have decided to cut my losses $$$. Krenek's Clock Haven had my antique clock three times and repeatedly returned it as repaired but it still does not keep time and will not chime. They also ordered the incorrect pendulum, it is too short, and rather than replace with the correct one, they actually bent up a piece of wire and used that to hang the pendulum from the pendulum rod...no pride in their work, it looks terrible. I am very sorry that I brought my clock there. read more

Please Don't have them work on your clock! I sent 3 clocks to them and I had to keep calling to have them brought. All they needed were to be oiled. The grandfather clock he brought back.and could not get it in the case. He took it back to the shop and don't ask me what he did he brought it back a total of 3 times. He sat and watched it for almost an hour and left and it quit working again so back it when again. The weights do not now hang evenly. The chimes are off sound. Like they hit a wrong note. Bad. My mantel clock does not sound on the hour!. I have to hit it to to make it go. My other clock was my fathers from Sweden. It will NOT run. I paid 600.00 to have them oiled and they still are not right. The man I used to have past away. He was so good! I don't know what to do anymore. I wish There was someone that was able to do a good job! By the way he had my clock (1) over 7 month and. I am not happy. Please do not have him work on your clock. Krenek's is a clock repair shop in East Rockford that appears to have been in business a long time. Their shop is located on the first floor of a house that's been crammed with all sorts of clocks, some for sale - it's definitely an interesting place to browse if you're into clocks. I'd just bought an antique mantle clock and needed to find a place that could do a full tear-down cleaning for me. Krenek's was one of the first hits on Google, so I brought it to them. Three weeks later, they called to say it was ready & I picked up my clock. They didn't say they had any problems with it - nothing but, "it's all cleaned and oiled, that'll be $117." Later, after I'd set it up at home, I notice that it chimes on the hour and strikes on the half hour - and the strike isn't even close to the hour - it was striking 12 at 5:30. Also, it's losing about 8 minutes a day - a clock like mine is a common clock, good make, and should normally be +/- 5 minutes a month. They said that after servicing, they keep the clock for two weeks to make sure it's keeping good time before calling the customer. So, I'm just flummoxed. I'm in the process of getting a second opinion, so I'll update the review after I know more. read more
