Never asked any further questions and advised my orthotics would be ready in 4 weeks. When they came in they were just flimsy foam pads like I had bought at Target. That time, I did not see Dr. Amiot but an assistant. The orthodics were too big for my shoes and so the assistant cut them down with a scissors to fit. They do nothing for my problem. I was told to come back in a month. I found Dr. Amiot very aloof and unfriendly, as was the girl at the desk. I would never go back to that office nor to Dr. Amiot.

Now, however, my hip prevented me from walking almost any distance. My general practitioner recommended I see Dr. Kehoe at Aspen Orthopedics. Dr. Kehoe recommended Dr. Printz for my hip replacement surgery. Since you're reading these reviews, you probably are trying to find a good Orthopedic surgeon. I'd say look no further than Dr. Printz. As far as I'm concerned, he could not have done a better job on my surgery. I'm back to walking three miles a day, six weeks after surgery. I still have a little achiness and swelling, but that's getting better every week. So, if you've got hip pain get it fixed by Dr. Printz ASAP, don't let yourself suffer. Dr. Printz did an excellent job communicating with me and addressing all of my questions. Also, a shout-out to Holly, the doctor's administrative assistant, for giving me sound advice and getting me an earlier surgery date from someone who canceled out. Thanks to everyone at Aspen Orthopedics, especially the New Berlin location, for getting back to being my old self again.

Be careful if you are going to this place or any foot specialist without any knowledge of how your…read morebody works biomechanically. I sent my brother to them after having a traumatic R leg injury that caused him to lose about a half inch of leg length in the hopes that they could measure his leg length and create a custom lift (not orthotic) to make up for the discrepancy that he will never be able to fix from the accident. That is ALL. Any pronation or supination issues that have developed because of his unfortunate loss in leg length since the accident or even before the accident are fixable through massage and corrective exercises everyone. So Dr. Guhl proceeded to basically tell my brother how his whole lower body was going to break down including needing hip replacements in the coming years if he did not get orthotics in both shoes to support the changes that have occurred to his feet (because he also fractured both hip sockets in the accident and did not get them cemented by the surgeon per my suggestion in order to reduce the risk of needing hip replacements due to arthritis, which i fully believe he would have needed at a young age had they been cemented instead of allowed to naturally heal like they did). The thing is, our feet and the muscles in our legs are meant to be a natural shock system for our body (look up the Windlass mechanism if you don't believe me) Putting orthotics in shoes in order to correct an imbalance that he was not born with, but instead adapted to, is exactly what will cause further breakdown of his joints. She even went so far as to tell a 24 year old kid that he cannot do anymore high impact activities, including jogging, until he gets the orthotics to support his feet properly. I know everybody has heard of the phrase "if you don't use it you lose it", well using orthotics for something that your body was meant to do, a.k.a. windlass mechanism, means that your body no longer has to use that shock system in order to support its joints. So by prescribing orthotics to my brother instead of just giving him a lift to even out his leg length and correct for something that he will never be able to fix, she is effectively taking away his body's ability to correct for itself and forcing it to rely on orthotics until the day he dies. So if you're looking to rely on orthotics for the rest of your life to replace a system that your body was naturally born with in order to support your joints then this is the place for you! Otherwise, I recommend having the foot specialist correct imbalance that is not fixable via exercise and hard work (i.e. a leg length discrepancy from literally getting parts of your shin bone taken out of your leg or a shorter femur from birth) and leave the rest to yourself and a massage therapist/personal trainer/ PT who is trained in that sort of work. Also, as another heads up, most leg length discrepancy's are due to misaligned hips or foot injuries that have gone unsolved....those are not something that an orthotic needs to be "relied on" for. Now after saying that I just want to clarify the Dr. Guhl is not a bad person. She is clearly just doing what she has been trained in and she believes that all foot imbalances and hip issues can be corrected with an orthotic. If you are the kind of person that just wants a quick fix and does not want to put in the hard work, time, and money to fix the source of the issue then orthotics are definitely the right option. I am just here to tell you that there is another option besides orthotics, which she did not educate my brother about AT ALL! He called me all excited that she had figured out how his foot was so imbalanced from just wearing the one orthotic that he had previously been prescribed and told him how everything was just going to get worse until he put orthotics in both shoes. My advice is to be skeptical when somebody only gives you one option out. The purpose of this post is to educate everybody who reads it, including Dr. Guhl, and to hopefully provide people with the awareness that some things in the body can never be reversed (leg length discrepancy from a loss of bone) and will need a lift. And some people (very minimal amount) are born with a foot deformity that will require a proper orthotic to make up for what was never there. If you do not feel like you are one of those people, then I want you to strongly consider not getting orthotics because I want the best for you just like Dr. Guhl does!

It's been two months and I haven't heard anything from his office. I called after two weeks and left a message but didn't get a call back. The day of the appointment I registered for their online health file and while it shows my appointment, there's nothing else on it. Dr. Guhl was a nice enough guy and seems competent but a business is only as good as your weakest link and I assume that there's a problem at the front desk. I wouldn't have written a review but I just got a second notice for my share of the bill which comes to $382. I complained to my insurance company but of course they paid it. This is a tough time for small businesses; you need to stand behind your service.

I could not put a shoe on comfortably without being in massive pain. Dr. Wilson successfully did the surgery. I loved the results of his work that I went back to have the other foot done. He corrected another doctor's ( an orthopedic surgeon's )medical mess up in which he removed a screw that was displaced in my foot and made my second toe proportion with the other toes. This other doctor shortened my big toe so much that my shortened big toe wasn't in proportion to the other toes. (A real mess) He was excellent at explaining how he was going to correct the problems. Why I will continue to go to Dr. Wilson: I love that he is a board certified foot and ankle specialist and that is the sole reason I go to him. He is an expert at what he does. I believe if you have a problem with your knee, then you go to a knee specialist. If you have a problem with your elbow, then go to an elbow specialist. I needed him to make my feet proportion with the other toes and he did just that. He was able to successfully remove enough bone from the second toe to make my foot look normal. I needed him to fix the pain in the joint of my big toe, he successfully did just that. I needed him to remove the upside down screw that was displaced in my other foot, he successfully did just that. He is a doctor that puts his heart and soul into his practice. He is a doctor of integrity, knowledge, and has great wisdom. If you catch him on a good day, he might even sing while he is working. He is a professional and I chose him because of that. Especially if you are going to work on my feet!!! I needed a doctor that can think quick on their feet and that is certainly, Dr. Wilson. He saw me weekly to make sure infection was not setting in and will not hesitate to give up a Saturday if he remotely thinks there is a problem where a patient needs to be seen right away. I am happy with my results. I have normal looking feet now. I can't wait for the summer to get a pedicure and wear sandals. For years I would not wear sandals because of my weird looking feet. Dr. Wilson made me whole again.
