They were hired as a sub contractor for a remodel I was doing. I ultimately fired them after uncovering incompetent work that Sam was doing himself. I then re-did most of their work while the walls were open, but I didn't catch all of it apparently. Now after years, I keep finding surprises... the latest of which was a ceiling light that they decided to use the ground (bare copper) as a shared neutral and use the hot and neutral both as hot so they could install a switch to control the light and fan separately without fishing another run of romex. I was in the middle of a major remodel, and would have happily had them cut all the drywall to run a new line to the fan... but nope... they took the lazy way out and just did some backwoods electrical crap. Thanks Sam... this is truly fun... I love finding all the things you took lazy short cuts on. I'm glad I fired you when you couldn't figure out how to wire a GFCI in my bathroom because of a shared neutral. I feel really sorry for the average home owner who is trusting that the work is done right, and the poor electricians that follow Sam and have to explain to home owners that they have to fix everything done before. And note, if you think that the county code inspectors will catch these things... 99% of the time they won't.
