Eye roll. What a clown show. Well here's the update that I promised, unfortunately it's not in the direction I was hoping. I got an immediate response to my review below, with multiple requests to remove the review. I stated that I was open to updating or removing it, if things improved, and we ended up having a couple positive meetings. So much so that we elected to continue to work with them on the next phase of the project. So over the weekend (Sept 12-13), they sent us the contract for the next phase. We signed it and sent over the requested payment. I was hopeful! I was mentally drafting a positive update to this review! On Monday I received acknowledgement of receipt of the signed contract. Immediately following that, I got an email that said, and I quote "Before we can resume, please remove the Yelp review so we can start fresh and have a positive experience moving forward as we help you with your project." Guys, my jaw DROPPED. (My husband sent me a simultaneous "WHAT THE F***" text lol) Let me reiterate, we had signed the contract, sent the payment, and THEN received an email saying they wouldn't begin the work until a brand new condition had been met. We were completely floored. But okay, I thought, benefit of the doubt, the guy that sent that email has the position of junior assistant on the website, maybe he doesn't realize that what he's doing - withholding work that has been paid for unless we meet a new requirement that we never agreed to - constitutes a word that rhymes with shmextortion. So I responded that this requirement is unethical, inappropriate, and possibly a breach of contract. I gave him every opportunity to walk it back, and then reached out directly to the firm owner to verify that this was in fact the position that Bitarchitects was taking. The only response I got is that we can terminate the agreement, so that's what we did. To their credit, they processed the refund relatively quickly. So yeah, I don't know. I can only speak to my experience, of course. The other positive reviews indicate that other people have had better experiences with them. But this all does make me wonder if other reviews have been manipulated in a similar manner. So caveat emptor I guess. Because I fully expect they will respond and try to spin this in some way that makes me look like I'm the unreasonable one, I'm attaching screenshots of the actual email exchange (just the initial exchange, because the junior assistant started texting me after that email and it went on for a while, until I went back to email to contact the owner). We had a huge addition designed by the architect, close to 2,000 sq. ft. We had 3 problems with the…read morearchitect: over billing; poor supervision; and being too close to the builder at our cost. First, he engaged in excessive charging (over and above contract) without prior notification to the client as to cost of extra service. In addition, he authorized payments to the builder without any supervision (from plumbing,HVAC, electrical, fireplace, etc. - in most phases of the construction) even with the knowledge that sub-contractors had not been paid, leading to huge financial losses to us and massive delays in finishing the construction. To make matters worse, when the first builder (ACT builders, Chris Papadopoulos) abandoned our project, Tom Manion the architect then repeatedly recommended a builder who was unlicensed. Would never recommend this architect to anyone!

I…read morewas on the board at my previous condo for 18 years, I have been on my current condo board for eight years, and Home Perfection Contracting is the best and most professional contractor I have ever worked with. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. I'm more than happy to give advice and guidance on code matters or general best practices, even if you are hiring other people."

I sent a simple sketch I made of my rough draft, using simple shapes I made using paint, very basic. I did not have a necessary building permit so there was urgency to submit drawings of the existing conditions first. Little did I know, those drawings, were final. I also inquired about lighting and design but time constraints did not allow the flexibility. In retrospect, the initial permit and the buildout should have been two separate projects, but, they were combined together. I do not recommend GTM for small commercial projects or first time build outs, they seem to deal with larger scale, higher price ranges. They gave minimum guidance, if any at all. While permitting is not their job, understanding client needs includes timelines, knowing where they are in the process, what other services might suit them, and actually speaking about them with instead of saying it's excluded and stopping there. I just don't connect. Inquiring about services shouldn't feel so short.. As I call other design groups to plan my lighting and finishes, they are asking more questions, (timeline, budget, recommendations.) There's no gatekeeping. None of these questions were asked by GTM.
