We now have a top tier burger joint inside the KC Quick convenience store at 58th and N. Antioch in the cosmopolitan suburb of Gladstone. After seeing photos of the food on social media, I knew that either something great was coming out of that kitchen or a major fraud was being perpetrated. After 3 attempts to get there, I am happy to report that Tapped Out Eats is the real deal. My double smash cheeseburgers was $12 and $3 for a side of well seasoned fries. Edward the proprietor told me that he works with a butcher to source the fresh beef that is ground with a brisket mix. Smashed and seared perfectly on the flattop with cheese and your choice of toppings. I went with it all...lettuce, tomato, slivered red onions, mayo, huge pickle slices and the secret ingredient that he also makes and sells by the container, Bacon Jam. All sloppily oozing out of and overhanging the grilled bun. A masterpiece in gastronomic decadence. It's finding these kind of hidden gems that makes the eternal search for the perfect burger so rewarding. The breakfast items and the chicken and tenderloin sandwiches look awesome also. Glad to have this place in the neighborhood.

We definitely needed to change it up, however, and were referred to ThaiNow since it's a part of the immensely popular Waldo Thai. This is essentially a ghost kitchen, so they're tailor made for delivery. It's a pared down menu that has some house favorites and it's in a good location that has a wide delivery area. The packaging is perfection, everything was sealed up and still hot. The fries lost their luster, but if you have an air fryer you can bring them back to life faster than a defibrillator. We both tried the Drunken Noodles which, flavor wise, were delicious. I'm someone who likes things relatively spicy, but I had to tap out of these pretty early. They were 9/10 on the spice level, despite going for medium. Spiciness is subjective, so I get it, but wanted to put that out there as this is a rare spot where I'd go "mild" next time. The little cream cheese wonton appetizers were good as well, and their Thai fries were tasty, but I've never met a french fry I wouldn't eat. The menu also includes Pad Thai, and a Spicy Thai Chicken Sandwich that I've heard is amazing. I do wish they could throw a couple extras on there like a curry or two, as well as mango sticky rice. Prices are good, concept is great, food is good, and I'd consider adding this into our over-reliance of food delivery going forward!

It's essentially an old school drive up diner. You're going to find classics here like burgers, fries, tenderloins, and milkshakes. They even have malts which to me is the true sign of an old school establishment. This is the kind of spot that I imagine Harry Truman would have visited back in the day. At any rate I had to get the tenderloin as it's the most hyped thing on their menu, and it lives up to the legend as for around 11 dollars it will feed you and your family of four for days. It's that big. I did take mine home because it was so hot I just couldn't eat outside, and it was too big for a car lunch. I ended up weighing it and it was a bit over 1lb. Damn, that's value. The french fries were kind of mid to me, but I liked the onion rings. I think next time I'm going to go for a milkshake.

My only gripe is that I feel like their sauces could be improved. I was not a fan of their lemon, garlic parm, or nashville hot. I did like their "Hot Box" flavor, even though that one is incredibly spicy and not for the faint of heart (it's like a Thai 9)! I think their ranch is okay, but nothing compared to Wingstop's ranch, which I believe is even better than Hidden Valley ranch (I know-- sue me). I think the sides are hit or miss. The mac and cheese - I probably wouldn't reorder. The fries have been stale before, but aren't bad when fresh. Note: there have been times when the styrofoam has melted due to the temperature of the food. It makes me wary of microplastics, so I hope they change their packaging to paper products!

It might have been because not all Indian recipes are the same (due to where they would have originated from) but otherwise it was good. HOWEVER, I would return and recommend though.
