Here's the best part: I received ALL the benefits of selling to a dealer (no smog required, no need to update registration or transfer title, minor issues that needed addressing were ignored, etc..) AND he paid me what I was hoping to get from a private party. I have never met the owner prior to this day and am leaving this review solely based on what an absolutely stress free experience I had in what is normally a nightmare. Not only did they practice respectful social-distancing and mask-wearing, but the showroom and office were also clean and tidy AND there was a large bottle of sanitizer as soon as I walked in. Whether or not you believe in the CDC measures, I appreciated the fact that Khalil allowed me to feel safe. Made an offer for one of their cars posted online. Got a call back from somebody at the dealership stating the price is non-negotiable with a super rude tone. Really hope this isn't how you do business regularly. 1. Your car is WAY overpriced compared to market. (Hint: check listings at bringatrailer and carsandbids) 2. If it's non-negotiable, why do you have a "make an offer" option on your website?? It's laughable. It's okay if you're not able to sell it at your asking price. I have purchased many cars new and used over the past 40 years. Khalil had a car I was looking for at a fair price. The car buying process was simple and not full of any posturing or other "used car salesman" shenanigans. Just a straight forward transaction. Loved the car! Had it serviced by my mechanic to make sure it was as it appeared and no surprises and the car checked out. 2 weeks later the car developed a problem. I fully understood I bought a used car AS IS. As mentioned before I have purchased many cars and sometimes things happen that nobody expects or intends. I was looking for a Nissan Leaf as part of a daily-driver scheme I have, and was on the CarGurus.com website and BOOM!!!! A used car dealer popped up near my business! I couldn't believe it, as I pass by this dealer everyday going to my shop, so it was awesome to get to simply drive by and stop and meet the owner and his wife. I told them what I'm interested in and that I had seen their Nissan Leaf on the website. After talking a little bit about the pro's and con's of 'all electric', we drove the vehicle around and it was nice. Not 100 out of 100, but 9 out of 10, so that was nice. No pushy-type of stuff, asked me to call them if interested further, and that was that. A few days later, I asked again to take it for a test drive, and they threw me the keys. After that drive, I went in to discuss price and the owner told me that based on the internet pricing he'd seen, he wanted to be competitive and lowered the price more. He told me that the car only charges to 63 miles, which was okay from home to work, so I bought the 2012 Nissan Leaf. (Update: it actually only charges to 52 miles, so they never saw 63 miles... which is discouraging.... but, the Nissan Dealer said the car checked out and was very nicely taken care of, so while I would not have purchased this car with a 52-mile range, I am still happy and plan to upgrade the batteries some day.) I was looking for an XK and saw one that meet my wants online at K/R Auto. I checked the reviews on them and really thought the reviews were BS, they were just too good. I called, figuring it would be another PITA dealing with a salesman over a thousand miles away.
