We also let them know that we had a baby and they made sure the house had a pack and play for us to use there. I would highly recommend this company and we will be booking through them again the next time we are in the Palm Springs area.

We have a couple of Airbnb properties that we manage ourselves, but our property in the Palm…read moreSprings area seemed too far for us to manage to our standards. I wanted to hire the best and decided on Ryson. Jason and Ryan are incredibly hard working. Sometimes I send emails in the middle of the night and feel bad because I know they will still respond quickly. Yes, they have a pre-set onboarding process, but I found it to be very professional. I wanted to open at lighting speed because I had been delayed so long with the pool construction. I bought a lot of things that just weren't needed like duvet covers that weren't white or pillow cases that were special and only in a set of two and those had to go. That was disappointing, but we didn't want sheets in the photos that were impossible to replace. It's better to have things done perfectly so your first guests will be 10 star happy and ours were. The consistent comments I get from guests are that the management company is quick to respond and resolve problems. From their website identify their properties and look at the reviews there and on Airbnb. Many of the comments will not only compliment the house, but also Ryson typically it's related to communication, problem resolution or cleanliness. I've had pool issues and after many months of dead ends, they helped me get to the bottom of the problem. With our city getting serious about neighbor complaints, I'm not worried because I know Ryson will be on top of it. We had one group during Cochella that was playing meditation music so loud that I got a call from the neighbors in the middle of the night. Ryan let them know that they would be out there right away and if he could hear the music from the exterior of the home he would immediately terminate the stay if the guests didn't comply. They were also protective to ensure the safety of their cleaning staff. It cost me money, but I respect that. If staff are treated well, they will take care of the home well. No management company is perfect. It's a demanding job with lot of surprises every day. We look at the house as a business. It doesn't have to be my way, it just needs to be safe, beautiful, professionally managed and provide our guests with a great experience. DON'T FART TOO LOUD!!…read more It was Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, around 9:00 in the evening, and we were a group of 50 year old women having a normal conversation in the pool. We were not loud, and we were not playing any music. The neighbors next door to the right (1966) were the source of the issue. They deliberately came outside to record us, listening in on a private conversation and trying to turn it into something it wasn't. Despite the fact that we were simply talking, we were recorded at the property line, and no sound measurement was ever taken. When we tried to discuss the issue calmly, an employee called the police on us stating "non compliance" and even her own coworker questioned why she did that as it was completely unnecessary. The police were called over a quiet poolside conversation at 9:00 on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend. On top of it all, we were hit with a $500 fine for talking in the pool. What made it worse is that we were never given any warning. No one ever came to us and said keep it down, or asked us to move inside, or gave us any chance to adjust. Even after the neighbor complained, which is what started all of this, they skipped straight to putting us out. No conversation, no courtesy, nothing. They just removed us. That was callous, and it showed they were not interested in resolving anything, only in penalizing us. The whole thing felt less like a real noise issue and more like a setup. It is hard not to wonder whether this is part of how they operate: welcome guests in, watch for any excuse, and hit them with fines to pull in extra money on top of the booking. The speed and eagerness to record us, penalize us, and call the police over nothing left us feeling like the fine was the point all along, not our behavior.

This is an embarrassment of a management company. Michael, Jenny and Kelly McClean, either have no idea what's going on with their company or they just do not care about the day to day. If their friends and colleagues knew how they treated their tenants and their homeowner clients' properties, they would be very embarrassed and appalled. The office staff is highly incompetent with delay tactics that would make New York slum lords ashamed. The repair teams are for the most part pretty bad. I have been without a washing machine going on three weeks. I have had an ongoing issue with the toilet leaking for months. The cabinet doors have worn out and fallen off and after two failed attempts by a random handyman, who could not do the work, he simply gave up trying to repair. Do your tenants a favor and do not contract with this company. These are frankly just not good people. I am a great tenant with a design / interior architecture background. I pay my rent on time and I keep the property immaculately. There is constant damage to the house though because of deferred maintenance by McClean. I have worked with management companies as a tenant and a homeowner and they are truly the worst option for everyone involved.

My advice is, Do not rent any property that is managed by this company!! The absolute worst…read moreexperience and I rent in the desert every single year. They did not do a move- in walk-through. They did not take pictures before I moved in. They tried to charge me for two days rent when the property wasn't ready. When I moved out two of them showed up to do the pre-inspection. The property is only 400 ft.². There was no need for that. It was clearly an intimidation attempt. They checked inside the cabinets where my personal lingerie was kept in addition, checking things like the garbage disposal. Of course they had no idea if it worked or not when I moved in because like I said there was no move-in. When I moved out, they came and took all these pictures. But they had no previous pictures to compare it to. I had asked writing several times for move-in pictures. And I was informed that the Broker didn't want to give them to me. That's not really an option that's an obligation. Dave asked me what I needed the pictures for. Which was a complete idiotic question. Obviously I needed the pictures to compare what you want the unit to look like when I leave. Was never given any pictures. And never did they own up to the fact that there were no pictures. I have a good relationship with all of my previous landlords, including the homeowner of this particular property. They also, put in the lease, a $250 nonrefundable cleaning fee. Which is illegal. You can only charge what it actually cost and then you must show receipts. I made them take that out of the lease. This is the most unprofessional uneducated company I have ever worked with. I asked for the Broker phone number and left him three messages and was never returned a single phone call. An absolute nightmare of a company for a renter. I was also informed by the landlord that they were having a difficult time receiving their rent that I had paid early. My advice is stay far far away. Just read the response from the Broker. Which I'm not able to respond to. They're absolutely was not a walk-through with the move-in. I requested pictures several times and was told that you didn't want to provide them. I knew that you didn't have them because when I moved in the apartment wasn't clean and I had to wait six hours in my car for it to be ready at which point there was nobody there to do a move-in or take pictures. If pictures would've been taken prior to that that was not move-in pictures. As they were still food in the refrigerator and the place was filthy. You didn't do me any favors. The place was left spotless therefore there was nothing to charge me for is a cleaning fee goes. That was legally what you were obligated to do was to return my cleaning deposit. As it was completely clean. The owner was there to verify that. I stand by my original post. This is a horrible, horrible management company. And I reached out to you three times and you never responded once to me. At no time did anyone bend over backwards to do me any favors whatsoever. Let's get it straight.

As a short term rental owner for the better part of 15 years, I had fairly miserable experiences with pretty much every other company, as they really only put their time and energy in the big mansions in the hills in Palm Springs, and rarely gave my condominium the attention and bandwidth l it deserved - ESPECIALLY as it was booked SOLID SEPT-MAY... and especially as I paid handsomely for my own marketing to ensure that it stayed full and busy. The last straw was with a company named ACME that pretty much made me nothing, and asked me to pay insurance that was insanely over budget for a small one bedroom condo; when I was enough to meet KEVIN and his team, he graciously took me on and quickly learned everything there was to know about short term rentals, how to best market small condos for short term, etc, treating my condo as if it were his own. From warmly greeting guests and giving them a tour of the facilities, to answering patiently all of the tourist questions that come in short term renters, dealing with last-minute emergencies in the middle of the night... The full band width of what a great property manager should be doing, KEVIN did with grace, patience, and an integrity and attention to detail that was unparalleled. The money was always 100% accurate, he handled everything and paid thru collected rent exactly on time every month, and honestly waived fees he really should have charged for outstanding presence and execution ... Things that most rental companies will charge a premium for- sticking around for the three hour window for the cable company to come repair a line, standing around waiting for the air-conditioning company to come by for its maintenance and repairs, even schlepping out on a weekend to deal with Guest complaints... KEVIN graciously did so without trying to nickel and dime. Once word got out about how outstanding KEVIN's team was, he quickly took over pretty much every rental in my association, and now carefully considers taking on new properties to ensure he can give it the best possible service. Whether you have a short term, long-term, or full on regular lease property, Kevin should be your first car. Even if he cannot take you on, he will give you options as to the next best possible management company in the area. MUST CALL.

Our experience working with Ryan and It All Starts Here included both positive results and…read moresignificant management concerns. The property rented consistently, and many guest reviews described positive interactions with the host. Ryan also appeared to maintain a productive relationship with booking platforms. Our home quickly achieved 5-star status and ultimately, the property was placed in Airbnb's Luxe category. The owner-manager relationship, however, was difficult. Ryan described the arrangement as a partnership rather than a traditional service relationship. In practice, this included him approving substantial rental discounts when he believed they aligned with a guest's budget (without communicating with us first). There were also instances in which instructions regarding the home were not followed. After moving out, we realized that we had taken the kitchen mat and promptly ordered a replacement. We notified Ryan of the expected delivery date and, once it arrived, provided instructions about its placement. Several months later, we found the unused mat in the back of a closet. Ryan's only explanation was that "the cleaners must have put it there." Another example was a guest complaint about our outdoor cushions staining clothing. We had purchased new cushion covers before we left and when Ryan first notified us of the complaint, we advised that maybe they needed to be washed. Several months later, he brought up the issue again. I reminded him they may need to be washed. Once that was done, the guest complaints ceased. There were also issues with household items. Linens purchased for one bed were the wrong size. They were eventually swapped out, but only after we visited and pointed out they didn't fit. We also supplied products for the house and shipped additional supplies when requested. Several months later, we found the cases we had sent unopened and unused. Additionally, we had concerns about the cleaning service and the effectiveness of the reported spot checks. Issues we observed or that guests reported included food on the floor, jelly or jam on counters, vomit on a bathroom wall, and underwear left in a bedroom. He accused us of being "picky" and that no other owners had complaints (not true). The most significant concern arose after the management platform changed in May 2026. The new system produced accounting errors each month. Payments were issued based on the reports as generated, so we had to review them monthly, and identify the discrepancies, then report them back. Corrections were made in the following month, which made the reports difficult to reconcile. We sold the house after working with Ryan for one year, and the final report still contained the same discrepancies. After we raised those issues again, Ryan blocked all communication channels we had used to contact him (or it appears that way, as he stopped responding to us). In the end, Ryan either overpaid us (if, in fact, his report is correct) or under paid us (the report showed a payment not made and the months-long issue of incorrectly charging Owner Stay Cleaning fees when we weren't there). The matter has not been resolved, but at this point our frustration level is so high we're reconciled to never seeing what is owed to us. But the fact he can't keep his accounting straight on even simple things demonstrates his lack of attention to detail. EDIT: Ryan will say he tried to settle this (see attached), but will not update his records to be correct. In fact he insists his information is right, but won't supply supporting documentation. The attachment he is referring to was a "No Contact" agreement, which I find interesting he has on hand. We won't sign it, but neither will we ever be in contact with him again. Overall, Ryan was effective at generating bookings and supporting strong rental performance. Owners considering his services should be prepared to monitor bookings, review payments, charges and discounts closely to confirm that financial reporting and rental decisions meet their expectations.
