Do you want quality (hard to find these days), well we highly recommend Kurt and the KP Asphalt team! Originally we had Kurt come out in 2022 to give us a quote. KP ASPHALT did a fabulous, meticulous, beautiful job from start to finish on my driveway and walkway. My driveway had been full of cracks, weeds, depressions and finally last winter, big chunks lifted up that made parking hazardous and plowing nigh unto impossible.My walkway was narrow and split. Both the driveway and walkway flooded at the street in heavy rains and in the winter from snow banks. Now, after Kurt and his team removed all the old tar and gravel, and in the case of the walkway, a surprise section of old concrete under an old tar top, and replaced both with fresh great gravel which they allowed to sit after compaction until several good rains fell, they returned and laid a thick driveway and walkway that, I kid you not, are things of beauty, hugely increasing the appeal and functionality of my home. I couldn't be more pleased. Kurt is very particular with his work, knows it inside out and bottom to top, and leads his team tackling the careful detailing that makes the project stand out from the rest. His work is truly remarkable. All the neighbors are excited and pleased to see it. My visiting friend was instantly impressed, got his card, and plans to call this coming spring for a new driveway and walkway as well. Kurt also added loam, which was optional, and wow! what a way to complete the job. I seeded it all and laid the finely cut straw down and watered it. Great Job by KP Asphalt. Very Happy with our Driveway. The crew arrived and worked their behinds off to tear up the old pavement and lay the substrate in 90+ heat and unforgiving humidity. It was left to cure and pack down for two weeks, never broke apart, no dust or tracking, and was solid to drive on. Kurt and his crew were back to finish the job at the time they stated. What a hard working team. Each person knows their job in the process seamlessly and works hard. The driveway came out beautiful. Nice finished edges and overall finish. Kurt at KP Asphalt was recommended by the Realtor, Alyssa Drummond, who represented us in purchasing our house in South Portland. Alyssa told us that KP Asphalt had done a number of new driveways on her street and the homeowners were very happy. We hired Kurt to remove the deteriorated parking lot at the house that would become a swamp during heavy rain and ice in winter. Kurt showed us how we could add more green space and still have a new driveway ample enough for our needs. He brought in loam for the new green space after old asphalt was removed. When Kurt and crew showed up for repaving, it was a well oiled machine. Everyone knew their function. It was almost like ballet where people moved just as another person entered the space. The new asphalt is twice as thick as the pavement that was removed and the crew went from start to finish in an hour and a half without cutting any corners.
