I've now been to his office three times, once was for an emergency. A very positive experience - actually looked forward to returning.

Dr. Elhindi is an excellent dentist! After my wisdom teeth appointment at another location was…read morecanceled, he was able to see me on short notice and remove my wisdom teeth the same day. He made me feel comfortable throughout the process and followed up a few days later to make sure everything was healing properly. I am very grateful for his care and highly recommend him and his team.

I am posting this because after reading other low reviews for Smile Obsession locations, I see that…read moremy experience was not isolated. Other patients have complained about appointments not being handled properly, concerns not being addressed, rushed cleanings, long waits, staff being unfriendly, billing concerns, cavities not being filled right, poor denture work, uneven dentures, and the list goes on. They also said cavities were not filled right. People were told to keep coming back because it was the end of the year and to use all the money. There were complaints about poor denture work, uneven dentures, and the list goes on. My situation is even worse because I was kicked out from returning after I complained and left honest reviews about my experience. I checked, and all my reviews -- the ones I made before -- were positive until now. I had actually praised Dr. Carson because I did like him and felt he helped me, but that does not erase the problems I experienced with the office. I gave this place several chances. I had appointments where I showed up and was told I did not have an appointment, even though I had screenshots proving I did. That wasted my time, my transportation, and my energy. I also have serious health issues, including heart failure, high blood pressure, back problems, and difficulty walking. During one visit, after dental work, my blood pressure was extremely high, I could barely stand or walk, and instead of showing real concern, I felt rushed out. I also had concerns about my dental work, including my bridge not feeling right and not looking even. Other people are now complaining about poor dental work too, including fillings, dentures, uneven dental work, and dentures or bridges not being measured correctly. They can contact Google review staff and have bad reviews deleted or hidden, while only showing mostly positive reviews, so keep that in mind when you go. They triple charge you for denture work and do not measure your teeth correctly, so your dentures or bridges may be messed up. Never trust Google reviews alone because businesses can pay to have reviews deleted or hidden and only show positive reviews. Click "lowest reviews" and read what other patients are saying before you go. I was still willing to give them a chance, but after I complained by email, contacted leadership, and posted honest reviews, I was told I could no longer come back. That feels like retaliation against a patient for speaking up. Looking at the other reviews, I see a pattern: patients saying their main reason for the visit was not addressed, cleanings felt rushed, waits were long, dental work was not done properly, billing was questionable, cavities were not filled right, dentures were uneven, and the office changed after Smile Obsession took over. Patients have a right to tell the truth about their own experience without being punished, screamed at, embarrassed, or kicked out. This review is based on my personal experience and the pattern I see from other patients' public reviews. I would tell anyone considering this office to read the lowest reviews first, not just the positive ones. People deserve to know how patients are treated when something goes wrong.

I love this place. They are very straight forward about everything, including giving you pricing…read moreupfront. I'm sitting nice and cozy in the dentist chair right now! Iyad my hygienist is the best. I previously came from an office in Orland that was trying to be some sort of dental spa where I felt like I was being pressured to do unnecessary, overpriced procedures. Oak Lawn Family Dental is no BS, man.

I had an appointment on December 18, 2025, which I believed was scheduled for a cleaning. When I…read moremade the appointment, the receptionist asked what I was coming in for, and I specifically stated a cleaning since it had been a while. I was also receiving text messages and emails reminding me to come in, which further reinforced that understanding. When I arrived, I still assumed I was there for a cleaning. A staff member took X-rays, explaining they were needed since it had been some time to check for cavities or other issues. After the X-rays, I clearly stated that I was only there for a cleaning and did not want any work done that would not be covered by my dental insurance. I was told this would be checked. I was then informed that Dentis Choi would examine my teeth. I was told I had two cavities, decay, a chipped tooth, and a baby tooth that never grew in something I've known about for years and was previously told did not need treatment if it wasn't causing issues. After sharing this information, the dentist left the room without explaining next steps. I assumed she had stepped out briefly and that my teeth would still be cleaned. Instead, another staff member came in to review a treatment plan. At that point, I expressed that I was confused and reiterated that I had come in for a cleaning. I was then told the hygienists were backed up and that there must have been a miscommunication. I agreed and explained that this process should have been clearly communicated when the appointment was scheduled that an exam and treatment plan discussion would take place before any cleaning. That expectation was never explained. I was then asked to sign a treatment plan for cavity fillings totaling $280. I declined, explaining that I was not comfortable committing to payment when I came in solely for a cleaning and circumstances could change before a return visit. I was told I should sign before the end of the year because the cost could increase with my insurance next year. I thanked her for the information. I returned on December 23, 2025, for my cleaning. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk staff were friendly. The dental assistant prepped me, and the hygienist introduced herself and explained that she would be cleaning my teeth. During the cleaning, water began dripping down my mouth. Although it was mentioned and briefly addressed, the water continued to drip down my neck and onto my back, leaving the back of my shirt wet for the remainder of the appointment. I understand that some water is normal during a dental cleaning, but I have never experienced that level of dripping. Typically, minor drips are immediately addressed to ensure patient comfort. I was also unsure why the hygienist required an assistant throughout the cleaning, as in my experience hygienists usually perform cleanings independently, with the dentist coming in afterward. At the end of the appointment, the hygienist recommended scheduling a visit to complete the cavity fillings. I explained that my previous interaction with Dentist Choi was unpleasant due to the lack of communication and that I would not feel comfortable having her complete the procedure. Overall, the front desk staff were pleasant, but the lack of clear communication and attention to patient comfort made this a frustrating experience. I requested for my x-rays and files to look for a new dentist.

I made the mistake of bringing my youngest, which is why I also understood why I couldn't go back, but we went right after school. This was a mistake I'm willing to fix myself. My son is older so I was not given follow up advice on whether he should eat, take pain meds, etc... Chris stated he would remind staff to follow up with parent. I also do not know if he saw the same dentist as I met last time who was a little too short with him and I. Some good I wanted to cover more - front desk staff came out for children often to offer coloring pages and talked with them about their favorites (my youngest was in heaven) I've been to A LOT of Medicaid offices and as I stated, they are cringy, so I totally appreciate the office being so clean and welcoming in most ways. I'm also very happy to have had the opportunity to work through this issue with Chris, who clearly cares about his patients. We'll be back. Original review: The front desk staff is amazing. The dentist is meh. My biggest complaint is how they act like parents going back with the kids is the devil walking through the door. In fact, while sitting in the waiting room, I heard a parent try to see their child and were told only one parent in the room at a time. As a foster/adoptive parent I have a lot of kiddos with a lot of trauma and every one I've brought here I've had to beg the nurse for me to be with them. Yet, they take Medicaid and are not cringy so we'll keep fighting the good fight.

As a patient who's been coming for several years, today 11/10/22 was a huge disappointment!…read more My appointment was at 11:30 I wasn't asked to come to the back until 12. The heavy set assistant put the bib around me, asked if I wanted to watch tv, I said no, she left. About 12:15 I sat up in the seat to see if I could get someone's attention, to ask when I would be seen. The assistant came into the room and said, the doctor is with another patient she will be in shortly. I asked her, is this new, for patients to wait almost an hour before they are seen? She said, Dr. Marshall is on vacation so the other dentist is taking his patients. As we were speaking the Dentist walked into the room and said, what's the problem? I said, I've been waiting almost an hour. She said, no your appointment was at, before she could get it out I said, 1130 . She said, so you've been waiting about 30 minutes, it's 1210 I said no, it's actually 1220. She nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders and said, emergencies happen. The way she looked at me was as if to say, oh well, wait til I'm done. I began to fix my purse strap, she said, are you leaving ? I said yes because you're being very rude and inconsiderate. She said, nonchalantly, ok and walked to the front desk to tell the receptionist, i wasn't being seen because i didn't want to wait. I told her, no, I'm leaving because the dentist was being extremely rude to me. I left in shock! I couldn't believe she was as rude and inconsiderate as she was. It was as if she was doing me a favor or as if i was late and she had to wait on me. I waited almost an hour to be seen, not one time did anyone apologize for my wait or show any consideration for my time. I had to find a baby sitter for my three month old baby for this appointment just for the dentist to be extremely rude to me and waste my time. I would never give my business to this practice as long as she's there! I have referred so many people to this practice from SWA, including a few family members, but I will be sure to tell them about the experience I had today so they can find a new place to go as well. Dr Marshall didn't seem to be as rude and ignorant as the female dentist that works there. I hope you clean house because she will be the cause of you losing a lot of patients. And by the way, while I was there some of the workers were talking about another worker leaving the practice ( I believe) and said, this place is going to go to shit when you leave and I was actually getting paid on time with you here. So obviously there is more going on at this practice than just that rude, nasty, ignorant female dentist!
