I've been going to dr. Kovanda for over 25 years. I love him. However, things have changed. He's changed. I will no longer go to him. I'm sorry dr. K. I feel his personal life has interfered with his professional life. His girlfriends have influenced him in negative ways. It's all about the money now. He hired a girlfriend to only lose her after a break up. Very unprofessional. It shows that she was just after his money. She did all the high class decorating in the office. My opinion is it's ugly and cold. Doesn't give off a warm and inviting vibe. When the girlfriend roomed me, she spoke very ding dongish, and made sure I knew dr. K was hers. Not good. The staff is very unfriendly and rude. I've seen them roll their eyeballs at clients. They act very high class and above me. They make me feel very uncomfortable. Dr. K has expanded so much to keep up with the times that he himself has stopped doing some practices like Botox. His office is decorated so expensively high class that I don't fit in. I do not feel comfortable at all. I feel very low class and that I shouldn't be there. I can't afford his products. I can't eden afford his services anymore. He's very pricey to compared to others doctors. I've done the leg work. I've visited other plastic surgeons and received much lower estimates for different things. During my visits with dr. K, I feel very rushed. He's in and then he's out in a flash. He is very vague on his suggestions and descriptions. I'm not a doctor or rich smart woman, so I need very detailed conversations with explanations and examples maybe. He speaks very, this is what's wrong and here's your price to fix it good bye. My visits with dr. Kovanda have lost their comfortable, fun, and personable appeal. Dr. Kovanda and his unwelcoming staff has become very quick and cold. He is catering to the rich and high end. I understand he's not going to stay rich by servicing us low income people. It's all about the money, and he's now very much moved into this group. I feel very bad that dr. K has changed in a manner to cater to only the rich. I feel disappointed that I have to find other places to go for my services because I no longer feel comfortable at his office and can't afford him. He is no longer friendly and personable with me. My story on the provider " doctor rip off" I went into him 3 years ago after my first breast enlargement that I had for 15 years, which was done in AZ and looked absolutely fantastic! one of the bags had bursted! Dr. Kovanda recommended that I get the gummy bear breast implants, he also did not mention that he ONLY went over the muscle, which my prior implants were in between the muscle. He also told me he was going to do the incision in the same part of the areola as my old one. I got the new breast put in which was almost $7000.00, which I had payed cash for. I went home with bandages on, later to take them off and the incision was in a different part of my areola and my boobs were sagging! My areola looking huge ( bigger than a 50 cent piece) and made me feel insecure, My friends and boyfriend said it was a "horrible job/ horrible job" :( Almost a year later they capsulized!! I went to see him and he just shrugged me off. I was so unhappy! Finally I tried to argue and try to get him to fix the damage he had done. I tried to see him again. Dr. Kovanda and his staff would not return my calls for weeks! I finally get in to do another consultation with him and he wanted to change me around $8000.00. I was like "REALLY" you want me to pay almost $15,000 for a breast enlargement OMG after your the one who did this to me! I cried and cried! I did not go back to him and still have not saved up enough money to get them back to normal. PLEASE do not go to the provider he is a scammer and does not care about his job performance or patients!! Amazing people, beautiful clean offices, skilled professionals. The staff is very kind, and clearly has no judgment for anyone that walks in, being a younger client I was a bit nervous, but my concerns and questions were answered and understood which was wonderful. Appointments are given plenty of time, I never feel rushed or like I'm just another blurred face. Prices are surprisingly competitive considering they are located in the heart of Edina. I had my second halo done this past fall with Emily. I highly recommend their services and Emily. She makes you feel at ease and has good follow-up. My skin is brighter, clearer and I look five years younger thanks to my halo at Kovanda! I also started gettin my botox done at Kovanda. I'd give this surgeon zero stars if this were possible. Had some really shoddy work done, filler and botox to be exact, and thereafter had a really bad drooping eyelid. I was out of town and told by his office manager to go and get the procedure dissolved, for which they would pay. They reneged on their commitment to do so. Save your face or whatever else you're considering, as well as your money. Look at reviews on other sites too. He has a bad reputation for other incidences, some not related to his shoddy work, but to his lack of professionalism with female patients. Let's start with just WOW. This is a company whose entire staff makes you feel so welcome, so attractive - and like you're their favorite client. I have been to so many companies similar and always feel like I'm not good enough to afford their services or good enough to be one of their clients. These ladies are the sweetest and not only that, but boy is their work top-notch. I've worked with both Whitney and Emily and enjoy them both so much that every time I leave, I think, "ok, I want to go back and see them soon, what other kind of peel can I do, what else do I need?" They are so enjoyable to be around and I will be going back for years to come. I just scheduled my first Halo appointment and had a long consult with Emily. I wish I could shout from a mountain top how wonderful Dr. Kovanda is. From the consult through the surgery/after care he is a rare gem. A genius. Artist. Skilled beyond the average plastic surgeon. I feel like this is his true passion and purpose in life, to change the lives of others via plastic surgery. I had fat grafting to breasts and am beyond impressed with how it went. My breasts are perfect. My belly, love handles,saddle bags are gone. This has been a dream come true for me and I'm only 2 weeks post-op and the bruising is still there. If I could, I would give a zero for my rhinoplasty outcome. Prior to the surgery I was concerned with the dorsal bump, deviated septum and crookedness of my nose. These were result form the car accident long time ago. When I came for the consult, I was quite impressed with his manners, and, stupid of me, I did not pay attention that he barely touched my nose. The consult was about 5 min. I realized that my nose was a big mess, but he reassured me that he would be able to correct all deformities. The surgery went OK, though I had a lot of bruising, but I was OK with that. He refused to remove my bandage and packing in 7 days post op, saying that it is good to keep them for another week, considering the big damage to my nose form the accident. So, on day 14 post op, the bandage and packing were removed. Immediately after removal I saw a huge dorsal hump in the mirror, I felt so lost that all I could say was " Is it going to go away?" - he just said "yes" and rushed away from the room. At 1-month post op check my hump was still really noticeable and felt hard like a bone. I pointed to him at that, he started squishing that area with his fingers (which was very painful) and admitted that that was a bone, not just swelling, and offered to rasp that bump as soon as I could find time for that. I really was concerned about that, and I consulted with several doctors about rasping just 1 month post op, and these doctors did not recommend it at that point. I never came back to him anymore. At 11 months post op my nose crookedness and huge dorsal bump were very noticeable, I could not breathe on my right side before the surgery - after surgery I could not breathe on my left side. Overall nose looked larger and wider than it was prior to rhinoplasty. Also, after the surgery my right nostril began to twitch every time my eyes blinked. Moreover, one of the stitches was left in the left nostril. When I called office about it, they said that it was going to dissolve eventually, but it did not. That area was sore and kept stinking like fish, which was not very pleasant at all. I waited for 11 months for the stitch to dissolve, finally it was removed by the great doctor who did my revision rhinoplasty in May 2018. I understand that different complications may develop after surgery, such as scarring that may cause nose deformity, of course no one can predict it. But my concerns were seen 2 weeks post op, so I think that the surgery just was not well done. I had been depressed the whole time post op. I would NOT recommend him for rhinoplasty, especially if you have a lot of issues with your nose. He promises easily, but the results may be very different. read more
