Of course, repairs can be costly, and the price quoted was a bit steep for me. if I could put 0 stars I would.... our daughter goes to school down there and took her car by herself to get it serviced and had the worst experience. not only did the employees laugh at her when she asked for a receipt to prove she wasn't being overcharged, they didn't fix the tires that we paid for them to fix. she had to have AAA plug her tire not even 24 hours after going to Kovac. we never leave a bad review but this left us in such an uncomfortable place. read more

We had been coming to this shop the past 2 years and had the most unfortunate event last year. My husbands BMW coupe had a tire that was flat and needed to be changed (he has expensive sports tires). We went in, paid for the tire to be replaced, then came back later to find they replaced the WRONG tire. After noticing this we pointed it out to the Kovac employees who were disgruntled then took the car back for another couple of hours to have this fixed and told them to replace that tire with OUR previous expensive sports tire they took. We came back a couple hours later, assuming they fixed the correct tire and had to rush to drive to Orlando. Once we were halfway there and stopped for gas, we inspected the tire again, only to find not only did they change the correct tire, but they replaced it with a USED tire where the treads were completely worn down and flush. SO DANGEROUS!! Especially on the turnpike. We had to immediately find an auto shop and PAY for ANOTHER new tire replacement. You expect to get a brand new tire, what you PAID for! Not one that you expect to be thrown out. AND ON TOP OF THAT, they changed the other tire that they were supposed to swap back with our previous expensive tire to one of THEIR tires! So they essentially stole one of our tires! They still expected us to pay in full and didn't offer a discount or apology. How criminal!! We were ready to sue them for the negligence and theft! Just to recap for those who want to skip the paragraphs, they: 1) swapped one of our expensive tires that did not need replacement with one of their tires (basically STOLE one of our tires) and 2) swapped the tire that needed replacement with a worn down USED tire with smoothed down treads **DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to go somewhere where either they don't know what they're doing or they take advantage of you. read more

My radiator exploded while getting onto interstate 595 west bound. I called Kovac at 530pm and spoke to Steve, he was absolutely amazing he git all of my information for my extended warranty company before I even got there, and even asked if I need a ride home. I my charger was towed there after hours and they had my car in the very next morning just like Steve said he would. I have never in all my years dealing with cars and and shops had a service rep actually keep his or her word like Steve. The whole staff including Omar the manager and Jamie another service writer were absolutely amazing. I highly highly recommend this shop to anyone that needs work done. I don't think you will ever find a more hardworking guy than Joe Kovac. The staff and mechanics are extremely knowledgeable and they do everything in their power to offer the best service in Broward County. On this visit, I came in for an oil change and some service work. I needed 2 new tires and some air filters replaced for my Mercedes. They always seem to only do the work that the car needs, never more! I like this. Rick gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. He wrote up my service order. He called me when they looked at my car to give me my estimate. BTW, I have been working with Rick for around 20 years. I don't think you could ask for a better employee (great people skills++) and I just found out he is bilingual, even better! Kovac's pricing is more than reasonable. Their labor charges are pretty standard and I have never felt that they have ripped me off for a dime. They get pretty busy, so I suggest making an appointment to bring your car in. They also offer free complimentary shuttle service to get you home or to work (local area). Love these guys! I have old cars(08 escape, 09 HHR and 10 Miata) that run great and no car payments. Joey Kovac does quality work and prices are fair. I need to know that when i get on the road I'm good to go. Hand them the keys and say, "just keep it running" and they go to work. Old cars, big jobs...NO prob. Recent 09 HHR(135k) needed major suspension and tires. Steve had an est along w/a $ breakdown if i need to do it in stages. Kovacs will tow, has shuttle service, will help w/rental and the waiting room is more like a living room w/wifi. Joe is always avail if u want to chat. Like always, above/beyond and surprised me w/a cleaned car ! That was unexpected and cool. **My father was a mechanic. His father was a mechanic. My mother's father was a mechanic. My 3 brothers are mechanics, 4 uncles on my father side are mechanics !! After 25+ yrs w/Kovacs it's safe to say I trust them. I'be been bringing my vehicle to service here for years and I just say the service has been so much better over the past year. my experience today was absolutely awesome and EVERY single employee I dealt with was super helpful and courteous. The first employee I checked in with Mr. Steve was courteous and he understood my concern for getting my vehicle back on time as I'm a special needs mom and he promised to get it back to me early and it was even earlier than what he committed too! I had a challenge after same day and Brandon was super helpful and insisted on providing me an uber. All the gentlemen there were courteous and respectful and seemed genuine. I never write reviews but this was disappointing Went in to have them check a noise in my car! I agreed to pay 89 for the diagnostic test! Come to find out they say it was my breaks making the noise. They quoted me $1200 for BREAKS front and rear, then told me they could throw in a free car wash because they parked my car under a tree after it was serviced and was literally covered from front to back in bird crap! I went to 2 other car repair shops that said it wasn't my breaks. I had 10k miles left! Was a pump problem. Beware maybe get 2nd opinion before trusting them! read more

You know those horror stories you hear about getting scammed by service centers? Well, that's not Kovac. Both my husband and I have had a variety of service work done to our cars here (oil changes, buying tires, tire rotations etc) and they are a great business. I most recently came here because the dealer was booked solid on a weekend I needed work done before a road trip so I brought it into Kovac. As usual it was a painless process in which I called ahead to let them know of what I needed done and ny car was ready at the time they told me. I just want to give a great review for Kovac Automotive and how customer driven they are. Daughter is a student at NSU and her Jeep had a flat tire. We are from Chicago and they were kind enough to keep her vehicle there until I was able to send them lug nut key. They were very pleasant to work with over the phone and were able to get my daughter tire fixed as well as an oil change. Daughters friend picked up her vehicle without any issues and was on her way. Being a parent and not always there it's nice to know Kovac team was there with great customer service and if any student is looking for a fair and honest mechanic I highly recommend them. My husband contacted this business via telephone regarding getting the sunroof of our vehicle fixed. The Representative on the phone stated to him to bring the vehicle so they can inspect it. At no point did they tell him it will be a diagnostic fee added if nothing was done. Places normally do that but then transfer that fee towards to final bill which is understandable. My husband brings the vehicle to this location and 2 hours later, my husband was told that the technician who handles this type of job is a 3rd party vendor. The minimum charge will be $400. My husband stated to them well how much does it cost to fix and no price could be given since the technician never inspected the vehicle to be able to diagnose the issue. After a brief discussion of what it may or may not cost, my husband was charged a diagnostic fee. No one inspected the vehicle so what did you diagnose? We already knew the sunroof was inoperable before we came there. When my husband question this fee they gave him the run around about why he was charged that all the while the vehicle never moved from the spot her parked it in. The 3rd party tech never came to the location to even check what was wrong with the sunroof. Needless to say he was charged for a diagnostic fee for a sunroof we already knew wasn't working to still not know what is wrong with it or how much it will cost to fix. After seeing my husband visibly annoyed about the fee they then tried to offer a discounted fee to which my husband stated it's not about the fee it's about how you handle business....Fair warning you have been warned!!!
