Subsequently, when my humidifier broke and was still within the 1-year warranty that came with the unit, I was told by the manufacturer that this was invalid because this was a closeout item and was 3 years old already and Kotula's is not an authorized seller!! WHAT? Then where do they get these and why are they still selling them? Kotula's doesn't tell you any of this but instead they go ahead and include the 1-year warranty paperwork with the unit so you won't send the unit back when you find out it HAS NO WARRANTY!! But, when you try to use the warranty, sorry Charlie! No deal! Don't be scammed by the so-called "deals." Nothing on here is a deal when it breaks and you can't get a refund or get it fixed!! I ordered a squirrel-shaped target for my boyfriend for Christmas via Kotula's website. I received it on December 19th and after reading the box I discovered that it was only compatible with airsoft and pellet guns, which he didn't own. I called up their "returns" phone number, told them why I was returning it and she gave me a return authorization number and said that since my item was under $30, it was not cost effective for Kotula's to have the item shipped back, but to keep the item, give it to my boyfriend, have him buy the right type of gun, and they'd refund me the money. Surprised I verified what she said: keep the item and still get a refund? She said yes. I hung up and called my mom who works in a small business and said that didn't make any sense so she called herself while I sent their customer service an email. She spoke to a different woman, also gave the reason for return, and second woman again agreed to keep the product and they would refund me, and confirmed my return authorization number. Hours later I received an email from Kotula's giving me an address in which to return the product; however, two separate customer service reps told me not to return it. So I didn't. Now it's February and I noticed my credit card hasn't been credited. I called up Kotula's to verify that the refund was still pending. A man answers the phone and says I'm not being refunded because they never received the product. I state that in December I spoke to two different people and both of them said not to return it because it wasn't financially beneficial to the company, and provided me with the return authorization number for my records and that I'd be refunded. He said that didn't make any sense. He also said that reps are supposed to make notes with each phone call and no note was made for either of my two phone calls, the only record of my contacting Kotula's is the email where they told me to mail it back. So now I have to retrieve the item from my boyfriend to return it two months later and hopefully get my refund. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm never refunded since it's now outside the return policy and there will probably be "no record that I ever made today's phone call to Aaron." I had no problem originally returning the item and shipping it back for a refund. I'm just stunned that two of their company's reps would lie to me and tell me to keep the item, now I have to get it back from my boyfriend, ship it two months later and wait another two months for a refund when this all should have been over with by now. Ridiculous. On the plus side, all reps including the liars were all very pleasant on the phone, but not enough for me to ever order through this company again. Way more trouble than it was worth. Buyer beware! PRODUCTS MADE IN CHINA. I ordered two Adirondack chairs that received over fifty-two, 5 star, rave reviews on Kotula's website, under the product (reviews stated that the chair is "durable" & what a great quality chair for under $100, etc.). I received the chair via UPS. It came mostly assembled, minus connecting the big pieces, so I spent approximately 20 minutes assembling the chair. Once complete, turned and sat in chair and it broke FIRST TIME (I am a 130 lb female). The wood used for the planks were thin and fragile. I contacted the store, and they sent a replacement, but required that I disassemble the old one, fit back into box and return (at their expense), or I would be charged for the replacement. Here's where it gets weird...when I attempted to post a review for the product, there was NO OPTION TO REVIEW PRODUCT. I contacted the company and was told that they were upgrading their product review site and to check back in a month or two. When I checked back, it still was not working. When I contacted them the second time, I was told that in order to leave a product review, I would have to contact the company that provided the online review system and request to post a review. WHAT???? When I asked her to elaborate, the explanation simply got weirder. WHO IS POSTING THESE "FAKE" AND INACCURATE REVIEWS FOR THESE CHEAP PRODUCTS??? BY THE WAY, THEY ARE IMPORTED FROM CHINA. At this point, they charged me for the replacement also, so I called Kotula's and ask to return all 3 chairs. I was then told that because it had been more than 30 days since the original order, I could not return any of them. After containing my anger, I told them I am filing a BBB report and hung up. A few days later, they called me back and told me to return the 2 good chairs and they would give my money back. I received the label and returned the chairs. The company did give me a full refund. I ordered something online from Kotula's. The product, an adirondack chair, appeared to be damaged when shipped. The wood was split around a screw for the slats that make up the seat. The box was not damaged upon arrived from UPS. I cannot reach them by e-mail or phone. In addition, they stick an orange manufacturer's card in the box with instructions to contact the manufacturer. Our original experience with kotulas was fine. The product was delivered in good condition and we were really happy. However, the firepit was defective. It started falling apart. We provided pictures of the basically now useless firepit but they wouldn't give a refund unless we returned the item. It is a 200lb firepit! So we're out $500. This company is a scam! read more

I placed an order for a Christmas gift, paid almost $40 to 2-night the package to ensure delivery on time. They used Fedex, who claims it was delivered (yeah filed a claim don't worry). However, when I called the company, I spoke with one person who told me to file a claim, then call back so we can get it re-shipped. I did just that. When I called back, not only did the new agent spend a bunch of time talking crap about the first agent for having me file my own Fedex claim, she resumed telling me that they cannot reship the item until their own Fedex claim has been filed, which would take 7-10 business days. One star for me because a. You need to get organized internally. b. don't talk crap about your own colleagues. c. don't tell me you'll do a re-ship, then back-track on that. Now I'm screwed. First and last time ordering for this company. My mother wanted these chairs that she saw from the site . So I ordered them for her, (the chairs were the yellow Adirondack chairs). First red flag, chairs took a long time to arrive. Finally she received the chairs but she didn't like em because they look different from what was advertised and she wanted to wanted returned them. In order to return the items, we have to have a return authorization (which was later proven to be useless). So we called and got one. Mind you, customer service takes a long time to pick up. Instead of sending us a return label, they sent us an invoice of what we copy but okay, I didn't think much of it. Today we went to return it , after trucking these huge boxes to the car , and we were told because we don't have a return label, it would cost us 66.00 dollars to return EACH chair which sums up to about 200.00., which is more than the refund and how much she paid. They suggested we contact the company to get a return label and this is where everything just went to shit. We were told Kotula's don't do return label unless the item is defective. Correct me if I'm wrong but in every business, if the customer is dissatisfied with the item, that is more than enough to return the item and get a label. Kotula's then suggested that they can grant us a label but we would only be refunded 14.00 backwhat??? That was unacceptable, I asked to speak to a mgr where we went back and forth for 10-15 and finally he said he would email us a label after a certain amount of days. So im gonna wait on that label. Also, I should mention they didnt disclose this on their return policy, in fact, their return policy is pretty vague. I wish I had read this reviews before I allowed my mom to see anything on their site. They are SCAMMERS. Guess what they took off the good items (normally expensive) and sent me the other items that I can find them with same price somewhere else. If it was one item that is out of stock I understand, but both good deals no. Customer service is terrible. I received a $700 kitchen island from them, and the drawers don't work. I originally talked directly to the manufacturer to resolve the problem. They said I had to talk to Kotula's. Called Kotula's: they said I had to talk to the manufacturer. Called back several times to Kotula's... even they can't get ahold of the manufacturer. Now they want me to find someone in the area to come fix the island - something which, as a very busy mom, I simply don't have time to do! I'm still not sure how to resolve this issue, but for now I have a very expensive paperweight from Kotula's in the middle of my kitchen, and everyone who sees it gets to hear just how displeased I am with Kotula's. read more

I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH KOTULA'S. I ordered an outdoor table and chair set. It arrived broken. We called to rectify the situation. They claim to have shipped another, which never arrived. They claim to have contacted FedEx, who claimed to have contacted the driver, who claimed to have delivered the new table. We never received the new table. They refused to accept responsibility for getting us a functional table. They leave it to the customers to "work it out with FedEx" or "contact your local law enforcement." I'm not sure this isn't a fake site. I ordered an office chair and was notified that delivery would occur within 5-7 business days. On the 8th business day, I called and they directed me to the manufacturer. I'm not an expert in ecommerce, but why would they do that? Anyway, I called on the 9th day, spoke to the same person and again, told me to call the manufacturer. On the 10th day, I spoke to someone else who claimed they had no record of me in their system. My order number directed them to a completely different person, phone number, address, etc. I immediately cancelled my order, but am yet to see a reimbursement. I will never use this site again. I recently purchased an item for my truck and was not at home when it was delivered . After inspecting the shipping carton it was obvious the item would be damaged . had I been home I would have refused delivery. The carton had punctures and tears and obviously been dropped . After opening the carton the item had sustained damage. After spending almost $260.00 of hard earned money it tells me their shipping department could care less,just get it out the door . I ordered 4 items at one time but after a couple of hours I needed to cancel 1 item since my husband clarified what he wanted and what I ordered was not it. Called customer service and was told they would send an email to the warehouse and see if they could cancel the 1 item. I was told I would get an email by the next morning at the latest. The next morning I still hadn't received an email so I called again. The customer service rep told me they hadn't heard back from the warehouse but that all of my items had just shipped. He told me he would put in an order to have the 1 item returned to the warehouse by FedEx but he couldn't guarantee that it would happen. If I still received the item I could just call for a return authorization and ship it back to them at no cost. I received tracking information that day for all 4 items. Each package was to arrive today. When I checked the FedEx website for tracking information all 4 packages were returned to Kotula's! I called customer service and explained the situation. When I asked if they could re-ship the 3 items I actually wanted she informed me that 1 of the items was now out of stock! But what about the 1 you just received back in the warehouse?!?! I was told there was no way to ship that one back to me due to the volume of shipping they do at this time of year. Are you freaking kidding me? Just had them refund my entire order. Kotulas catalog charged this to my american express on 9/12/2013 for a Remingtion Electric Pole Saw. The tool was not as described and did not work properly. American Express tried numerous times to contact Kotulas for a return but Kotulas did not respond so American Express returned my money. On 2/18/2014 Kotulas turned it over to a collections company. Cindy Folkens from Jnr adjustment company (collections company) said that they did contact Northern Tool & Equipment and was going to ask for a shipping label and a box to ship the tool back to Nothern Tool & Equipment. When I called to check on the shipping label and box Cindy asked me to call them and take care of it myself. When I ask Cindy who called Nothern Tool & Equipment she said she would not give out that information. When I ask Cindy who did they contact at Nothern Tool & Equipment so I could talk to the same person; she said I don't know. This makes it hard to resolve issue when Kotulas will not respond to American Express and Cindy at Jnr will not give me any names of who made the calls and she does not know who they talked to at Nothern Tool & Equipment. Buyer be ware when you buy from Kotulas they will not pay for any cost to return the item back to them even if it's wrong or does not work and will turn you over to collections in a heart beat. read more

No wagon....they were unable to help me resolve the problem and told me someone would e-mail me soon but they are swamped from Hurricane Sandy. I tried ordering a cooler from the online website about two months ago. A couple days ago I finally receive a letter via snail mail saying that I can't receive my purchase till I verify my billing address which it gave me a number to call to do so. So I called the number given and the rep said I would receive my purchase in 6-8 business days. So yesterday I check my credit card account to find that they charged me the $99.00 for my purchase but also charged me an additional 155.99 for the purchase. I called the company immediately after seeing this charge. They told me that my item was double ordered. Apparently they are associated with another company named Northern Tool and Equipment. So they put my order in from Kotulas for 99.00 and then ordered another one from Northern Tool and Equipment for 159.99. When I said I wanted the one cancelled they said fine but then wanted me to verify again my billing address and now wanted initials from they letter they sent which there weren't any on the letter. So by this point I have already waited 2 months for my purchase and by the time I would receive another letter from them it may be another 2 months. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever tried to order something. The best part of it all from the customer service to the manager staff everyone of them said it is out of our hands to help push through ymy order, they need proof I am the card holder. So the letter I recieved at my billing address, me verifying my billing address and seeing on my credit card online statement that I was double charged wasn't enough proof for them that I am the card holder. Funny I don't think most people who are trying to do illegal purchases would check there statement and say they want there original order but want there mistakes fixed. Worst company to order from for anything unless you don't mind waiting 4-6 months for your purchase and getting more the double charged for it. read more

I bought a metal sledding saucer from Kotula's to make a Captain America shield out of. Not only was the price point terrific...at least $10 below other retailers' costs, the shipping was free, the saucer arrived in less than four days and is awesomely made--and a brilliant American red-- for its purpose. I don't know where Kotula's is but the saucer was made by Flexible Flyer in Maine. Kotula's gets my vote and hooray for the USA. read more

I ordered a wine refrigerator with a granite top that cost $499 and because it was over $25 it said the shipping was free. I was not billed for shipping, however, I received a call from the freight company Kotula's hired to deliver it and they asked me if I had a freight lift to get the item off of the truck, and told me if I did not, it would cost me $85 to have them take it off the truck and put it on my driveway! I refused, telling them that I had been told the delivery was free. I called Kotula's and the very nice service rep told me that it was true, that on orders over 100 pounds that there is an additional charge for freight delivery. I told her that I thought this was deceptive advertising and she told me she agreed that their sales dept should put a disclaimer on the free delivery advertising! However, they never offered to pay for the $85 additional delivery fee, so I canceled my order and will not do business with this company again. This was a birthday gift and I was left scrambling to try to find something for my husband at the last minute. Long story short, I do not recommend purchasing anything from this company. read more
