Had the sunday special way over price in that town need to include drink. they have a convict cooking on sunday the brothers owner. food was ok desert dry but not for 15.00. service was good even the employees will tell you that it costs to much.the breakfast is good and fairly price and coffee to. but sunday is like going to eat in the mess hall with the convicts. read more

My wife and I went on one of our "drives" yesterday across beautiful central spring Texas. We were fortunate to run across Kosse Cafe on hwy 7. It was lunch time, but we had breakfast. The breakfast was perfect! I had 3 eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with pancakes. It was so much I couldn't finish it! I am very critical about my eggs and bacon! Over medium eggs! I was a breakfast cook when younger so I know eggs. The eggs were perfect, whites done but yolks not over done. The bacon was yummy. My only complaint was the hashbrowns. Like many small Texas cafes, they use frozen shredded potatoes, thinking it's convenient and quick, when fresh spuds make a world of difference. The young lady that waited on us was very sweet and attentive. The price was great. It is a classic cafe, as you'd expect in a small friendly community town. I highly recommend a drive out for a breakfast or lunch. They have many great homemade choices! read more

If you like good food...this is not the place for you. Went here over the weekend after hearing good things about this place...I guess they were all lies. The food was under cooked and the atmosphere was terrible. The waitress was nice enough...but the food was terrible. There were 2 old guys sitting behind the register looking like the were eyeing all of the women that came in...it gave me the creeps. My advice.....STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! This is a real deal old school restaurant with authentic southern food. I had the chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes and I can't think of any place I've eaten since that has a better steak. The service was fast and the staff was super friendly. Lots of parking and a lot of farmers and cowboy types. They had the shifty eyes when they saw my California license plates but once I told them I was from Texas (I really am) the guns went back into the holsters and the frowns turned into smiles. All kidding aside, the folks are friendly and they didn't seem to really care where I was from. I will be back! read more

Fried chicken breast was prepared perfectly. Not over done. Not over breaded. Just perfect. The potato salad was delicious as well. The chefs trick was to add bacon. Food at this cafe is pretty good but the town is a CORRUPT SPEED TRAP! The speed limit drops dramatically entering the vicinity of this little map dot of a town and you can bet that Deputy Barney will be waiting for you. Just a few minutes before entering the town, the speed limit is 70. I paid a $280 fine for going 56 mph. Legal extortion! So, if you go through to get some food, make sure you go very slowly or Boss Hogg and his cronies will steal your grocery money for the month! read more

We stopped here on a road trip because reviews were sort of good. However, I got lemon pepper grilled catfish that was so SALTY it was INEDIBLE . The chicken fried steak my husband had was "crunchy". The waitress was great ! But even tho she brought to attention (to the presumed owner who was taking our payment ) that it was AGAIN too salty, even showing him the plate of fish not eaten, he just said "Well, tell HIM! (the cook) ". A good owner/manager would've acknowledged it, but he didnt adjust our check amount even a dime... Wont eat here again! read more
