We had four contractors come out to our home and check it out. We contacted two large companies, Zion in Pasco, and Clean Image Restoration, in Kennewick. Both said that the 5/8 press board that the previous contractor, [2015- 1st Choice Restoration] used was not meant for counter tops and NOT sub-flooring! Both of these businesses said they would send us a written estimate for our insurance company. They never have. Zion sent someone out twice, but never did send us an estimate. We dealt with a man there named Urbie. Our last text was terse on my end and he finally answered, saying he'd been sick. Apparently he couldn't ask anyone else to take over for him. I asked if he was so sick he couldn't speak or send a text? He didn't respond. I called our insurance agent to see if they knew of anyone else? He said they had used Clean Image Restoration, Kennewick, WA before, so we called them [contact was Doug]. Same results as with Zion. On December 14, after nocturnal trip to the bathroom, I fell through the floor. Bright and early the next day, we contacted Doug at Clean Image with this info and still no responses to this day. Finally, we were led to a man named Michael Cardenas. He came out right away [Feb.12, 2021] and looked the job over. He phoned the next day and told us how much his estimate was. He said he had a couple of jobs to finish, but would start our job on February 22nd. He estimated it would take a week to finish. He e-mailed a contract promptly, we looked it over and accepted it. Mike was here at 8am, on the 22nd and everyday thereafter, except for one, when he needed to pick up some supplies.. When we called, or texted him, he responded in a very timely manner. It really sent a message to us that, even though our job was small by comparison to other things he has done, our project was just as important to him. I'm elated to say that they finished our job on February 26th and our floor looks great! He and his assistant even put back our washer and dryer, though we hadn't contracted with him to do that. After the nightmare we've had with contractors' [going back to the 2015 nightmare that was 1st Choice Restoration in Kennewick] we were hunkering down for another round of headaches. But boy, were we ever pleasantly surprised! As I said before, we highly recommend Cardenas All Around Construction & Remodel them for their excellent communication skills, dependability, and first-rate repair and remodel skillset.

I had holes in my walls where there didn't need to be, tiles that his tiler couldn't figure out how to center on the wall....MY personal favorite was when one of his guys installed the medicine cabinet with a faucet that blocked it from opening. Rather than point that out - the guy kept installing it - pointing to it (he doesn't speak English!) and laughing! The T11 on the outside of the house got installed at 7 pm on a friday night because I casually asked if they could put up plastic or something, it was December! And it was the WRONG SIZE!~ A few months after I kicked him out and said ENOUGH an electrician went to move a switch location and discovered ALL the can lights needed replaced because they weren't attached - just propped into the ceiling...($$KaChing$$). Then we discovered the toilet leaked...when that got pulled up we discovered water up under the tile, to chip that up we discovered the wiring for the heated flooring installed right to the edge - and it got broken - the WHOLE less than one year old marble floor had to come out and be replaced. ($$$KaChing$$$). AND, he left a broken ceiling heater behind we had to pay to dump. My contractor friend offered to be a go between with him to get resolution going and got nothing but drug along when he realized he needed to pay for the damages. After 2 months of blow off I filed small claims and won a judgement. I turned it into the insurance company and he won't authorize it. Moving on to lien on his house and business.

Atlas Cabinets & Design performed a large remodel of our home in various locations. We had them design and install a new deck with hand railing as well as add stairs to connect the upper deck with the pool area. They also installed under cabinet lighting to our kitchen cabinets as well as install a beautiful full tile backsplash to our kitchen cabinets. They also built an amazing entertainment center with glass shelves! We love it and it looks awesome in our great room. They remodeled our bathroom with new designer plumbing fixtures, a new tiled in tub and shower and new cabinetry and quartz counters. It all came out PERFECTLY! And on budget . . . which was a bit of a surprise. On time, on budget and done as they said they would. One thing they did do: they damaged our existing range. It was a total mistake and we felt bad, but not only did they own up to it without us having to go to them, they actually replaced the range. We told them they didn't need to, but they said "Our mistakes are not your mistakes. We'll take care of it". Cons: Repeated promises for delivery that come and go, and a wholesale lack of communication. We were originally supposed to receive our cabinets 4 weeks after ordering (6/2). Then six weeks (6/16). At 9 weeks our contractor went in person to the shop, which resulted in our base cabinets being delivered-- but without doors or side panels "which will absolutely be here next Monday (7/12)." When they didn't arrive, our contractor was told that *all* remaining upper cabinets, doors, and end panels were coming Thursday afternoon (7/15). Yesterday (7/19) I called the owner, Wade, who declared earnestly that everything was done and promised it would all arrive today (July 20). Nope-- once again, no cabinets and no explanation. Now we are at 11 weeks and still waiting I appreciate that the supply chains have been impacted by the pandemic, and that there may well be unavoidable delays as a result. However, there is no excuse for the multiple delivery dates that have come and gone *without explanation*, nor the myriad phone calls, texts, and emails that go unanswered. In short: good quality product, abysmal customer service.
