The amazing thing about Carson ATA Martial Arts is that they are selling a class that appeals to…read morekids but is really aimed at the adults. Your kid will want the instruction, which is how Carson ATA gets you in the door. But how they get you to stay, is that they offer more than just a class containing instruction and your typical respect-based techniques of martial arts on tap for the taking. They offer to the parents a system of keeping the kids interested in being better kids. For a short part of the 50 minute class, parents get to stand up and explain how the kids did on meeting a certain goal (perhabs to be more respectful or in whatever way to be better kids). In front of the entire group, the kids are cheered on by the dojo about whatever little thing was hard for the kid to do at home over the course of the week. These skills in motivating kids to respect their parents is incredible. Why? Because these skills are taught by the same dojos who teach your kid how to fight and how to protect the child against attackers, which is what the kid really wants. So for every future black belt in the making, you get a child that is primarily concerned with doing the best he can at home, for you, so he gets to come back and learn to spar and grapple and use the equipment. A smarter business model there has never been. My kids are already wanting to go back. And I have a super hard kid that hates everything, plus is incredibly shy. In fact, I was very defeated at first that my child didn't want to participate over the first 30 minutes. But by the end of class, with some very clever motivation from the dojo, all the kids welcomed my child (who was probably feeling very uncomfortable being un-wallflowered) and got her on the floor and eventually she was doing some moves with the others and having a good time. They really want to come back. I actually hope my children become black belts. I can see this really working out.

Carson ATA has helped my daughter develop confidence in a positive, constructive environment. She…read morelearns not only martial arts, but life skills that we employ at home and at school. I appreciate the time that each instructor spends with her to ensure she is ready for testing, for sparring and her next goal. She has advanced and as the classes have become more difficult, her passion has grown to include special stunt classes.

If you are looking for the best CCW class to take, then this is the one. No matter your skill…read morelevel, beginner to expert, I guarantee you will learn a lot in this class, on your way to getting your CCW permit, or even just for the sake of being more secure and confident in handling firearms. I don't believe that you could find a better instructor in the area. I attended the Nevada Conceal Carry (CCW) Permit Class at Elite Protection on Hwy 50 in Dayton, NV., last Sunday. The class is currently given on Sundays as an option, it lasts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and costs 125.00 per person. I found this class to be more than well worth the time and fee. It is a wonderful class, taught by an amazing and highly skilled and qualified instructor. Beyond his impressive resume, Mr. Anderson is very professional, kind, patient, and seems to whole heartedly care about the class and the participants, and be passionate about teaching the responsibilities, safety, and skills that a gun owner/handler should have to not only protect themselves but their families, friends, neighbors, and community around them. I was not the most experienced, and I was not the most confident person in the class, and to be honest, the night before, I was nervous and thought about not going. Pretty much upon the first 2 minutes in the door Sunday morning, after meeting Mr. Anderson, I was at ease, I felt safe, and I did not feel judged or nervous past that point. I got out of the car that morning thinking maybe I shouldn't be there, maybe I wouldn't pass, and maybe it was a mistake, but I was very wrong on all accounts. It was a perfect class. It was a small group, in a private setting, with plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor. I also mistakenly thought that the day was going to be soo long, but it went by so quickly, I wasn't really even ready to leave. The time is divided by test study and prep, hands on training and practice, lunch break, range and simulation time and the test, which you are more than prepared for making an A+ on by the time you take it. Trust me. It is the perfect class to take, and the perfect instructor to guide you through it. I did not just come away with a permit, I came away with a stronger understanding of Nevada laws (after moving here from Alabama) and more importantly, for me, much much more confidence than I even thought I could have. I have always been able to shoot, and shoot well, lol, but was only ever handed guns that were ready to aim and fire, and then I would hand them right back. I had no idea about loading, unloading, racking slides, replacing magazines, or handling and holstering a pistol. I practiced some on my own the night before the class, but throughout the one day at Elite Protections CCW class, I picked up skills, techniques, and the confidence I didn't think I'd ever possess to touch, hold, handle, load, unload, holster, and draw from that holster a weapon on my own. I may be speaking more to people like myself who are afraid, or nervous to take a class in gun safety or tactical technique, and I'd have to say, stop putting it off, put the nerves aside and go take the class... take this class, you won't regret it! Then again, if that's not you and you've been handling, shooting, and carrying a gun all your life and don't need a class, but you do want to get your CCW... take this one on your way to your permit. You'll enjoy it, and even if you know it all already, I bet he teaches you something you didn't. If I'm wrong, you still will not have wasted the day, he is a super cool guy, the class is everything you'd seriously want or need, but there was still time for fun, and even if by some miracle, you already know everything Mr. Anderson has to teach you, I promise that the simulator training and scenarios will teach you something about yourself. I feel better having attended the class, I highly recommend it to anyone at any level. It is thorough, organized, well run, and well worth it. Whether you live in Dayton, or are coming in from out of town, you are picking the right one, if you pick this one.
