Ever since Fitness for 10 was switched to PAC it has gone way downhill. No longer able to bring a…read moreguest for free for one thing. Additionally, I was randomly charged $69.98 this month, my membership is supposed to be $30, when I asked why I was just told "that's an admin fee." No prior notice or anything, no real explanation. Ridiculous. Will definitely be stopping by to cancel my membership today. Their group class selection also sucks.

Unfortunately, the same problems that drove me away in the first place still exist. One of the most frustrating issues is the membership pricing. Members are forced to pay for access to multiple locations, even when they have no intention of using any facility other than Fallon. Meanwhile, the Sparks location offers a less expensive membership option for customers who only want access to a single gym. It's hard to understand why Fallon members aren't given the same choice. Even more frustrating is the gym's ongoing inability to maintain a reliable entry system. Nearly every morning, there are members standing outside waiting because the card reader isn't working. I was one of those paying customers locked out this morning despite having an active membership. This isn't an occasional inconvenience, it's a recurring problem that management has seemingly failed to address. What makes this especially irritating is the double standard. The gym threatens members with a $20 fine for letting someone in when the card reader fails, yet when the gym's own equipment prevents paying members from accessing the facility they've paid for, there is no compensation, accountability, or urgency to fix the issue. If the gym feels justified charging customers $20 for a broken access system, perhaps it should also compensate members when that same broken system denies them entry. The equipment is the only reason I continue to come here. If Fallon had another comparable gym, I would switch immediately.

Anyway...luckily today I found anytime fitness down the street! I called and Willow answered the phone and told me to come on in and that a guest pass would be $8. She was so nice and accommodating, not to mention great at her job. Once I got inside she got me signed up quickly and ready to go. The gym has lots of equipment for every fitness enthusiast, plenty of room, and a friendly vibe. The machines were all working (including the tvs which people seem to have complained about ‍), and it was all clean and comfortable. They do not provide towels (which is a bummer for me because I sweat an unladylike amount), but they do have plenty of wipes and cleaning spray all over the place to make sure all the equipment stays nice. The demographic was a mix of older folks staying strong and younger generations getting there shred on. They have treadmills, ellipticals, spin bikes, kettlebells, weights galore, different workout rooms, and pretty much everything in between. I was impressed with this fitness center in a little town. After much research I believe this is the nicest one around. Check it out for yourself and stay fit!
