But Berlin does have its share of hummus spots, and on a trip to Prenzlauer Berg (where I go very seldom) a friend suggested this place, partially because he likes it and partially because I'm vegan, and you can't go wrong with a hummus place and vegans. Our group of five arrived and started to gather around a smaller table outside, but the owner came out promptly and accommodated us with a larger one, which we took. The menus came out and there are a good half dozen vegan options on there, clearly marked with the green "v" next to them. Thumbs up. I got the regular hummus plate, which comes with pickles, olives, and onion, along with pita bread. It was tasty and filling and the consistency was pretty spot on. They had some drinks that sounded good (ginger lemonade, for example) on the menu, but I was more in the mood for water. I asked the owner and he had no problem with me drinking my water bottle. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. The way customers were treated also left a very bad impression on me. When I was standing in the restaurant and was about to place my order, I witnessed one of the employees speaking extremely loudly and rudely to a woman and practically shouting at her. He said things like, "Take your order with you" and "What do you want now?" in an incredibly disrespectful tone. I found it shocking to see a customer being treated in such an unfriendly and aggressive manner. Overall, this was an absolutely disappointing experience for me -- both because of the food and because of the way customers were treated.
