The plane arrived on time, and since it was an overnight flight, they gave a complimentary blanket and neck pillow, both of which were incredibly comfy. United also provided numerous food and drink services. First they brought out snacks, which were high quality cheese and crackers. After, they brought out meals, where you go to choose from chicken, beef or pasta. I chose chicken, which was a chicken polenta. I don't like polenta to begin with, so I didn't like the meal, but the people next to me had the other options, which looked very good. After a few hours, they gave everyone sandwiches, which were my favorite. Definitely high quality airplane food. To finish off the flight, they did breakfast, which tasted pretty good. Drinks were served with every meal. The best part was the in flight entertainment. The screens in front of me were equipped with dozens of free movies, free services for TV like Apple TV and Hulu, and even an interactive flight tracker. The flight attendants were really nice as well. Would definitely fly United again!

Positives - Expansive offerings of flight times and geographic coverage, and so this provides extensive connectivity. - Big hub presence across the US: Chicago O'Hare (ORD) (also the headquarters), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington Dulles (IAD) - Usually lower priced than competing airlines. Negatives - Customer service leaves much to be desired. Maybe I'm comparing UA's service to Asian branded airlines, but yeah, disappointing. - Some planes are showing their age inside and out, but thankfully I mostly fly international which I think get the better planes. - My child was not feeling well once and we push the call button for help and the flight attendant just ignore us and when she finally came over, she dismissed our request for help. - My child threw up all over herself for lack of a barf bag (it was missing in our seat pocket). - Requested warm water and was given iced water when we already told them my child was not feeling well (the illness came on suddenly). All in all, not good memories of UA and generally leaves much to be desired. Thankfully, safety seems ok and pilots are experienced.

I flew once in 2025 and for not having flown over the Pacific in over 20 years, I'd say my experience was mostly positive...and i flew regular coach level. I had no delays and even an hour and a half early on my arrival time on the way back, which I don't think ever happened in my lifetime. It did cause a commotion for my friend who was picking me up, but I didn't mind waiting, as long as I was back safely. Service is what it is. Some employees are meh whilst others are great. I did find the airport employees much more friendly and eager to help at the Manila airport than the SF airport. But service out there in general is much more service oriented. I found the flight attendants to be all business, not much personable interactions, but I can understand as the volume they do is just insane. They are very efficient in tasks however. I found the comfort level a mixed bag. Coach seating is definitely cramped, you have to sleep/nap in that sitting position. Seat reclines just a tad. They do give blankets and small pillows. I'm a fairly easy sleeper, so I napped a good 4-5 hours in total for each flight. Each flight was 13 hours, no stops or layovers. I specifically chose this airlines for their many options of non-stop flights. You can go business class or even higher and those definitely has more leg room, but for a short stint (relatively) I couldn't justify spending an extra grand or so for luxurious comfort. The food is also a mixed bag. Some were good, some not so good. Airline food to me is basically cafeteria food anyway. They gave out 3 meals during that 13 hour flight, which I felt was overboard, as to consume that many calories for just sitting and napping in one spot, just felt unbalanced to me. I only ate 2 of those meals and declined 1 as I was usually napping. The best meal I had was a longanisa breakfast that was simply prepared. That was the only meal I ate in it's entirety. Every seat has it's own monitor where you can watch shows or movies or listen to music to your own discretion. This wasn't around or at least with this much freedom some 20+ years ago when I last took this flight. The cooler part is you can also track your flight in real time anytime you want. It was mostly dark on both flights but it was cool to see how much time was left or where exactly you were on that path. I would scan this feature almost hourly. An average flight on coach can be around $850 - $1000 per. Add more if you want to upgrade seating/services. And add more during the Christmas holidays by $300 -$400 or so. Each airfare a passenger is allowed to check-in 2 baggage, each one no more than 50 lbs. I would say about 90% of passengers use this to bring boxes of goods back to their families, as there are many things that are taken for granted out here but are seen as luxuries out there. So part of that airfare is literally for cargo shipment via airplane, which is a huge upgrade from shipping via cargo ship on water. Most of my family members who fly a lot more than me usually will choose another airlines as they feel it is too much of a cattle call for airline standards. I don't fly all the time so I felt it was fair for what I paid. I'm going to be in the minority amongst all their reviews, and I'm a-ok with that.

I had to make six separate calls, wasting hours on hold--only for the first five calls to disconnect without any resolution. Each time, I was asked for my phone number "in case we get disconnected," yet not one representative called me back. On the fifth call, after 30 minutes of going in circles without progress, I finally lost my patience and said, "Look, I don't have time for this...". The call was abruptly disconnected. I'm convinced the agent hung up on me. By the sixth call, I demanded to speak with a supervisor. The agent said she'd connect me, but after a wait, claimed it wasn't necessary because she could handle it herself. Instead, she tried to upsell me to a more expensive fare. She insisted the supersaver economy option wasn't available anymore--even though I was looking at it on their website in real time. When I pointed that out, she backtracked and said that fare was only for new bookings, not rebookings. It made no sense! I stood my ground, and after 42 minutes on my 6th phone call, I finally got the ticket I wanted--$95 cheaper. Her final excuse? That she couldn't see the fare on her end because I was already trying to book it on mine. Not exactly convincing. Yes, I saved money--but it cost me time and a serious headache.

This was information that when they finally announced the flight cancellation over the PA could have also provided. Information regarding refunds was not vocalized either. Extremely Disappointed -- I Will Not Fly Frontier Again…read more Our experience with Frontier Airlines was extremely disappointing and exhausting. Our flight was originally scheduled to depart at 7:40 PM. First, it was delayed until 9:00 PM. At 9:00 PM, we were informed of another delay. We finally boarded the plane around 11:00 PM, left the gate, and then were brought back to the gate again. After hours of waiting, we were kept there until approximately 1:30 AM, when Frontier finally announced that the flight was canceled. We were given vouchers, including food vouchers, but after such a long and exhausting night, we simply went back home. The following day, when we contacted Frontier to try to resolve the situation and request a full refund, we were told there was nothing they could do. The entire situation was handled very poorly. Keeping passengers waiting for so many hours before finally canceling the flight left us exhausted and with very few options to find alternative transportation at such a late hour. After this experience, I will not fly Frontier again, and I cannot recommend this airline to my family or friends. A delay can happen with any airline, but the way an airline communicates with and takes care of its passengers during those situations makes all the difference. Unfortunately, Frontier failed us completely.
