There's a sign that states where the line starts with poles guiding people as to where they should be falling in line. Like numerous others, I didn't see the sign. People started falling in line by the window, which is where I was sitting. I eventually moved my seat. Now, I totally understand what the hype is all about. They offer fruits, sauces, and crunch options that other frozen yogurt companies do not offer. While I was falling in line, someone was writing down what I wanted to order. I was impressed that she upsold me. I was asked which option I wanted. I opted for a cup or tub. Then she asked if I wanted a medium or a large. She didn't ask if I wanted a small, medium, or large. I'm thankful I ordered a medium! The couple behind me had a slight misunderstanding because the female ordered small for them to share. He didn't sound happy with her choice. Eventually, she changed the order to a larger size. I knew that I wanted mango. I am thankful that the employee suggested the Biscoff crunch and sauce. Oh my gosh, I slowly ate my yogurt. I wanted to enjoy every crunch with the sauce and yogurt. They gave a generous amount of everything. I would highly recommend llaollao!

Sadly, this place does *not* have horlicks. Ah, Cold Layer... you have spoiled me indeed. But the…read morelack of horlicks isn't going to drive me away so easily. Snow Creme follows the same vein as Cold Layer: something that isn't quite ice cream but tastes kind of like ice cream. It's the same sheets of shaved ice that feel like a cross between ice cream and a slushie. It's usually marketed as being healthier for you than ice cream but eh. When it's this hot, who's counting calories, right? While it might have the same canvas as Cold Layer, Snow Creme has a different application entirely. I could probably say that Snow Creme is the more adventurous of the two. Because really... tiramisu? Honeydew? Pink cheddar? The Pink Cheddar for one turned out to be snow ice that tasted like cheese ice cream with strawberry syrup and a glob of egg pudding. Definitely interesting and definitely not what I expected. But prety good all in all. A medium sized bowl is big enough to share between two people looking for a snack. Aside from that, they also have *some* salty snacks... but if you ask me, the number of mojos you get don't match the 65php price tag. Still, they're good mojos. Not hard, thick cut and mealy... exactly how I like them. Given how warm it's been, it's no wonder they've been pretty busy as of late. While this isn't a place to go for a meal, this is a pretty good place for a quick snack or if you need somewhere to hide from the heat.

Needless to say, hot-sticky-dirty is a combination that prompts me to either take an ice bath, live inside the air conditioner, or get myself a cold confection. The third option seems like the easiest of the three, and I am glad that Snow Crème is there to cover me. PROS: Their snow ice is like the Pokémon evolution of the halo-halo, if the halo-halo was an Eevee. Finely shaved ice mixed with different toppings and syrups. You can choose one of their pre-set combos or choose your own toppings and syrups; There's just so much choices! Between milk teas and mousses and fruit teas and smoothies, I think you won't run out of options here. CONS: There's a bit of a wait time, during lunch or dinner rush; You may have to watch out and call dibs for a good table since there's always a lot of people in there. TL;DR: Bust the heat with everything Snow Crème has to offer. Take that, Manila summer.

Manila Creamery is something to watch out for. As of now, they don't have a physical store yet as they have only recently launched last April 2015 at EDSA BDG, however you will find their humble stall in bazaars and event functions for the time being. It's a start up business by two young individuals but don't be fooled for they deliver you nothing but quality! They have the staple flavor selections but have also created their own unique trademark flavors. When you are able to catch them on bazaars, I suggest you try the cereal milk flavor! It's one of their own unique creations. This one is very promising! I must say, Manila Creamery is almost at par with my own personal favorite gelato brand!

They only use fresh ingredients of high quality to make delicious and unique flavors for everyone to enjoy. I came across their pop-up store in Glorietta 4 and tasted all the flavors available. These flavors were Vanilla Almond, Coffee, Kinder Bueno, Pistachio, Double Chocolate, Black Sesame and my personal favorite that day, Mangga't Suman. Its main ingredients were Mango and a famous Filipino delicacy called Suman which is a rice-based dessert. Everything tasted good, that's for sure! Their gelato was carefully made and tested. I could really tell because of how it was rich and flavorful. I think if I did a blind taste test, I'd know more or less what the main ingredients were! I'm not much of a dessert kind of person but Manila Creamery's gelato has made its mark on my taste buds. I can't wait till their next pop up! Know their whereabouts through their Facebook page (Manila Creamery) and Instagram account (@mnlcreamery). Talking about it can only go as far so go and try their exciting flavors for yourselves!

I bought three of their bestselling pints: salted caramel, Brazilian coffee, and dark chocolate--and where are they now? Gone, gone, gone. Probably lost to morning, afternoon, and late-night binges of watching Master Chef with a pint and spoon in hand.  There's something about this place that releases the ice cream monster inside of me. You can find Carmen's Best hidden inside the gate of KIDS Academy, where you will then be led to an ice cream freezer containing all the secrets to the universe. Sorry, all the flavors of Carmen's Best. From dark chocolate to pistachio almond fudge, Madagascar vanilla to malted milk, and cereal milk to Spanish turon--man, just typing these out makes me want to head over there and stock up for an apocalypse--Carmen's Best homemade ice cream boasts an impressive array of regular and artisanal flavors with ingredients taken from all over the world. Switzerland. Italy. Heaven.  Okay, I'll stop. But really, awesome ice cream = happiness = the meaning of life. Carmen's Best uses 100% fresh cow's milk from their own dairy farm, and you can really tell by the creamy and silky texture caressing your tongue. I recommend ordering their Brazilian coffee and salted caramel, two of their bestselling regular flavors that sell for P400 each.  Know that the Carmen's Best at White Plains only lets you buy their ice cream in pints. There's no place to sit or order a cup of ice cream. Which is good, in a way, because that means you don't have to eat Metro Manila's best ice cream by the spoonful. Instead, you can curl up into the couch, watch Top Chef: Just Desserts, and have no regrets in life. "Pure indulgence," they said. They were so, so right.
