Do you or your kids like music? Ever thought of learning to…read moreplay a musical instrument? If you answered "Yes," to any of the above questions, than you can take a look at, "Music Lessons by the J's." They are a nice and talented couple. They greet you with a smile and part you with little sweet treats. They play many instruments and teach young and not so young students to do the same. I found "Music Lessons by the J's," on-line when I was looking for a guitar teacher. I called them and made an appointment with Mr. J to get started on my guitar lessons. He is patient and a terrific musician. He plays more instruments that I have fingers to count. I can say that he made guitar lessons easier than what I thought they were. Their studio is conveniently located in their home's basement in 42 Malden St, Worcester, MA. WARNING: If you are not sure what kind of instrument/s to purchase, hold on until you hear their opinion. They also have some nice instruments in their studio, which you can rent and/or purchase. Remember! Purchasing instruments and other music materials from the J's helps to keep lesson cost lower than most other teachers in the area do. This makes them perfect for first time goers and those on budget that want to save some $$ but still receive good quality lessons. I highly recommend, "Music Lessons by the J's," as a great place to start your music lessons.

When I was done with graduate school I had the itch to pick up the instrument again but never did. When I was 25 I decided I wanted to start playing again. I simply "googled" violin lessons near my area. One of the links that poped up was for Newton Music Academy with a biography of Olga. I didn't think too much about what school I would take the lessons from, but rather from the quality of the teacher. Boy, am I glad I choose Olga. Olga is so sweet, kind, and encouraging. She consistently challenges me to rise to new musical challenges, but never before she thinks I'm ready to move on. She not only listens to me, but meets my expectations of what I want to learn, what I want to play, and what I want to do with the instrument. It's not easy for an adult to take up such a complicated instrument like the violin. However, Olga makes it fun, enjoyable, easy, and exciting to learn. I couldn't imagine taking lessons from another teacher. Olga is simply awesome!

When I started with Mr. Emilian I really had not idea what a note was, I know it is sad, but it is the truth. Mr. Emilian thought me how to read music sheets, how to play notes, arpeggios and accords. Needless to say, he is very patient and very knowledgeable, too. He lent me one of his accordions in the beginning and kept giving me bigger accordions as I was getting better. Eventually I bought a very good accordion from him. I now live outside MA but I still take classes with him using Skype :) Take my word, if you are looking to learn how to play the accordion or the Bassoon, give Mr. Emilian a call.
